This assignment examines the impact of pressure groups on science. TASK 1
Pressures group in organisation and their impact on science.
These are the group within organisation which is impacting governmental policy with
sharing of common interest as well. Most of them are influencing many activities in business like
that of operation, policies and research or developmental part of company (Influence on science,
2018). The pressure group which is impacting science within organisation could be like that of
political party, pressure and interest group as well.
Political party- they would be influencing law or government policy to be changed on science
and technology including like that of Green peace and BMA.
Pressure group- they would not be impacting anyone to gain power but influencing them who
are already having power (Kogan, 2018). They think that nuclear power and others science must
be banned. Like that of NUT and IWW
Interest group- they are the one who are defending science and technological change as they are
working to invest in company which is at risk of shut down.
TASK 2
Describing in detail how they influence science
All the pressure groups would not be seeking any kind of help from any governmental
body but they are sharing the same interest and not having any intention to start their own
political party. All of them would be having their own opinion within media group as every time
when issues are been raised within news or internet. Then they come to protest and while
protesting they would be handing out various leaflets with signature of citizens in favour of
issue. All these things are influencing science in negative way like that of exposing scientist for
wrong things which they have been doing which is emerging in cause of distrust among citizens
and public.
TASK 3
Identifying campaigns from each group which is affecting scientific research
Like for example British Medical Association is (BMA) at present initiating many
different projects on influencing science and public including alcohol and making local area
tobacco free till 2035 (Kraal and Vertovec, 2017). Their attempt was to make public transport
more safe which was included within their report stating that influence energy and climate
change which are to be used in research by putting laws and regulations to help or assist society.

Green peace also is global institution which is addressing problems that are concern
environment and the sustainability on planet. Like in year 1982 their main project was based on
Dutch ship Rijinborg that was aiming to dump about 7000 tonnes of nuclear waste that too into
the Atlantic Ocean. Then in year 1993 there was permanent ban on the disposal of industrial
waste that of radioactive into sea and it is marked to as the biggest achievement of Green peace
on global level.
