Security threats in cloud computing and preventive methods 2
Introduction
In the present era, Cloud computing is highly used and emerging technology
in the industry that provides different facilities to their clients, such as IT
infrastructure, platform, services, network, data storage, and many others. In
addition, most of the large-scale enterprises have used microservices, which are
based on cloud computing (Balalaie, Heydarnoori, & Jamshidi, 2016). In addition,
cloud-based services have adopted and easily available in the market.
This report will describe about the security threats in cloud computing and its
prevention methods. It will provide relevant technologies and applications of cloud
computing. In addition, there are many benefits of cloud-based services in different
industries. Moreover, it will also provide challenges of cloud computing, which are
faced by the organizations. In this report, the research gap will be found based on
the different articles of cloud computing. Summary about the whole report will
provide in the later section of this report.
Relevant technologies and applications
Internet-of-Things (IoT) is the relevant technology of cloud computing, IoT
devices have been used for the data collection and many other works. The Internet
has been used for communication between different devices. In addition, IoT has
provided many applications, which are using cloud-based services, such as smart
cities, smart farming, smart home, and many others (Blakstad & Andreassen, 2016).

Big Data is another technology, which has used cloud computing in various
things. In addition, big data has used for data collection and data analytics.
Therefore, IoT devices have been used for data collection about different things
using sensors and RFID devices, such as weather information, traffic information,
and many more (Chen & Zhao, 2012). All those devices have been used for data
collection from various processes. Online transactions are also included in the data
collection processes from different departments of an organization, such as sales,
marketing, finance, inventory, and many others (Coles, 2018).
There are various applications of big data in business and other industries. In
addition, these technologies have used cloud-based services for data storage and
network architecture. However, all the devices have security but the attacker uses
different types of methods for hacking the network and devices, such as malware,
spyware, phishing, viruses, Trojan, and many others (Garg, Versteeg, & Buyya,
2013).
