Report part 1
1.
Simulation modeling is an important part of network design. It is necessary to
know that how to simulate more scenarios in single network. This is helpful in
understanding the real world issues in a safe and efficient manner. This offers a
main analysis method that is easily understandable. Simulating multiple
scenarios in one network allow to give a clear insight of complex systems and
scenarios. Simulation provides a risk-free environment in order to test various
network scenarios. This eliminates the situation of putting the production at risk.
This is helpful to make correct decisions according to the real world situations.
This saves time and money. Simulating multiple scenarios for a single network
enables the observation of a network behavior over any level of detail and thus
improvises the accuracy.
2.
In the process of traffic configuration, “mean outcome” should be set. In order to
find it and set it, select the Protocols RIP configure start time option. This
will open the RIP start time configuration window. Here mean outcome text box
will appear. This is to specify input parameter for the function f probability
distribution. For example, the probability distribution function of consent will
take single parameter. And on the other hand, other functions like uniform can
take more parameters.
3.
Apart from message transit delay times and traffic loading here can be many
factors that can affect the performance of network. The performance of network
depends on the response time. Various factors that can affect the network
performance includes number of devices in the network, latency of network,
type of network traffic, bandwidth, number of transmission errors and the
medium of transmission. For example, network latency refers to how long the
message takes to transmit from one device to another device on the network. A
good network with low latency refers to less delays in message transmission,
thus it take less time to transmit data over the network. Latency is also affected
by the devices available in the network. A switch based network usually
experience lower latency. Similarly, bandwidth refers to the amount of data that
can be transfer over the medium in a time period. Different transmission
mediums have different bandwidth capacity.

In OPNET there are different nodes that are required be configures like profile,
application and server. It is suggested to first configure the profile configuration
