The main objective of this report is to highlight the impact of smart motivation
techniques on productivity of employees. Motivation results in enhancing an employee’s
productivity. This report discusses about background of the information and purpose of a study.
This report covers research aims and objectives which highlights motivation practices. Further, it
consists of literature review which provides in-depth information about the topic. In addition,
research methodology is mentioned which helps in collecting information from various sources.
There is a ethical issues discussed of a given research and at last conclusion has made for getting
better outcomes.

Introduction
Background
Motivation refers to the manner or a way in which an employee is inspired by its
managers in order to achieve organisational objectives. The main aim of this report is to
determine the impact of smart practices of motivation on employees' productivity. Motivation
and productivity are interconnected terms which is used by most of the researcher as a subject.
Motivation are of two types that is intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. These both techniques are
used by organisation in order to motivate them towards organisational goals. On the other hand,
productivity is one of the aspect which is used in an organisation. It can be described as optimum
utilisation of resources to enhanced productivity of an organisation or employees. There are
various practices of motivation such as training and development, rewards and recognition,
growth opportunities and employee engagement etc. which are used by firm to enhance and
retain employees for long time. These motivation smart practices develop employees potential
and results in enhancement of organisation profits. The chosen organisation is Marks and
Spencer group plc. Company was founded in the year 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas
Spencer. Currently it is serving more than 1,470 locations globally (Marks & spencer, 2021). It
deals in variety of products like clothing, food products and home products etc. Present report is
based on motivation practise used in Marks and Spencer. This report includes research aims and
objectives and questions. The literature review is mentioned and further, research methodology is
used for collecting data and information through various sources is discussed. Further,
conclusion is made for getting potential outcomes.
Problem statement
Motivation is the important factor of an organisation. Because it helps in impacting
positive way to the employees. Motivation results in enhancing employee’s productivity as well.
But sometimes, managers are so busy that they could not be able to conduct motivation practice
at their working environment. So this creates demotivation and results in leaving employees from
organisation. If motivation is not used in organisation, then this results in increasing of
employees' turnover ratio as well. By developing motivation smart practices, this helps
