SOLAR PROJECT IN EAST TIMOR2
Part A; Planning Execution Plan
Introduction
The key objective of the solar project undertook by the ATA is to electrify the dwellings of
the EAST TIMOR that lacked the electrical connectivity from the centralised power grid. The project
needs to be cost effective that is minimum cost is required to be incurred after the execution of the
project and the post execution phase that is after the operational cost (Polo et al. 2016).
The methodology implemented after the successful implementation of the project
incorporates the installation of the soalr panels in the respective dwellings of the EAST TIMOR that
would eventually fetch the desired objective of lighting up the households of the EAST TIMOR. This
approach is indeed an eco-friendly approach, from the socio economic point of view (Polo et al.
2016).
The project will render the sustainable development of the citizens of the EAST TIMOR and
will result in the upliftment of the socioeconomic status of the citizens. This report has performed
detailed and thorough analysis of the procedures of the project.
Description of the Project
ATA is a non-profit Australian organization that renders social services for the well-being of
the society. Hence, for the purpose of successful implementation of the project, the financial back up
is required, which is rendered in terms of funding by the government and non-government
organizations. In the concerned case study, the funding is provided by the Government of EAST
TIMOR and the GOOGLE (Yenneti and Day 2015). The project owes its origin to render electricity
supply to the underprivileged dwellings of the EAST TIMOR that are not electrically attached to the
power grid.
The ATA has encountered the constraint to grant permission from the government to connect
those residences to the power grid. Hence, they have opted for this project with the sole objective of
installing solar panels in the residences of EAST TIMOR that will capture the solar radiation
emanating from the sun and will convert the same into electrical signals (Yenneti and Day 2015).
Afterwards, the signals will be subjected to rectification to remove the associated harmonics and then
the frequency of the signals will be normalised to transform them into the domestic frequency of
50Hz.
This solar electricity will entirely wipe out the hazards of using the kerosene for the purpose
of lighting up the lamps. As a consequence, the individuals would not be suffering from the health
issues caused by the hazards of the kerosene lamps (Kontopoulos et al. 2016). The students will be
the most beneficial in this regard as they would not be bothered with any sort of hindrances during the
procurement of their studies at the night time. ATA has the provision of mechanics and loco
