Introduction/Background
The PHL construction company is planning to improve their marketing and the service of the customer. The
company is investing an approach, which is multi-tired and can be used for grabbing new clients and making use the
additional share in the market, which is associated with the organization. With an aim of gaining the strategic
objectives of the organization, the company has planned to redevelop its website.
The intention of this website Redevelopment project is development of a website that is content rich and include
different testimonials, the news of the company and new building developments. The new website that is
development is expected to manage PHL in working more effectively with the clients to prepare an effective
construction solution. The proposed website is expected to benefit the business by developing a tailored solution.
Development of the proposed website is capable of facilitating the management of feedback given to the clients for
improving the process of interaction with the customers. Thus the implementation of this project is expected to bring
business benefits to the clients.
Project Scope
Having a knowledge of the project’s scope is necessary for planning the undertaken project is an effective way
(Harrison and Lock, 2017). Identification and analysis of the scope of the project provide an idea of the scope and
the deliverables of the project (Kerzner 2017). The project’s scope therefore identifies the main deliverables of the
project and also discusses the deliverables that are not included within the project’s scope.
The in-scope of the project are indicated as follows-
 To deliver all the documentation of PHL as per the approved project plan
 To deliver a new website before Christmas Day
 To offer effective business solutions to the client of PHL
 To provide training as per the requirements of the client organization
 To improve the business of PHL by improving the client satisfaction
The out scope requirements of the undertaken project are indicated as follows-
 Maintenance of the website
 Monitoring the traffic of the website.
The above paragraphs identifies the in-scope and the out-scope requirements of the undertaken project. The
delivery of all the in scope requirements of the project will ascertain successful completion of the project. An
effective understanding of the in scope requirements of the project will help in planning the project in the best
possible way
Work Requirements
The completion of this undertaken project is subjected to performing certain specific tasks that is an essential part of
the project implementation plan. The project aims in improvement of the customers’ satisfaction for enhancing the
customer services as well as the marketing services. Through this undertaken project, the company is planning to
hold additional share in the market along with the certain new clients. Therefore, there are certain specific work
requirements that the company needs to consider for getting the strategic goals and the objectives of PHL. The aim

of the project of redeveloping of a website is to deliver a new content rick website. Therefore, one of the basic work
requirements of this undertaken project is to develop an interface for the clients which would be user-friendly. The
website will let PHL to work in close association with the clients for delivered a tailored solution.
Another significant work requirement of the project is to increase the customer interaction. This can be done by
delivering an effective feedback to the clients. Therefore, another significant work requirements of the particular
project is to prepare a responsive website for improved customer interaction.
Since PHL has no specific department for handling the IT works. Therefore the entire design, implementation
training and testing for the website will be based on out sourcing. Therefore, the scope, execution and
implementation is a part of the requirements of the project that is undertaken by PHL.
As a part of the work requirement, an effective plan containing the schedule and plan for transition is to be delivered
in this project. The project plan is however, subjected to the review of the contractor before the start of the work as
per the plan.
After the approval of the project, the work requirement include approval of the website design with an aim of
providing PHL with a detailed plan for testing. The redesigned website is subjected to beta testing prior to its release
and therefore, beta testing can be considered to be a part of the work requirements of this particular project.
As per the requirements of the client, the newly designed website will be implemented on a PHL server to provide a
24 x 7 support. Providing all time support is therefore considered to be another significant work requirement of the
project.
Providing training is a part of work requirement that is linked with the execution of the proposed project. The
contractor of the task is needed to provide training as per the approved training plan of the company. Followed by
the training, it is important to provide a written update of status in meetings that is to be held between the PHL and
the chosen contractor during the conversion phase.
As a part of the requirements of work, the chosen contractor needs to ascertain that the project closure occurs in the
Christmas Day.
The costing of the project is estimated to be $265,000. The project planning phase is to be completed within a
budget of $30,000, while the design and the definition phase is to be completed within $145,000. It is expected that
the implementation phase will cost $60,000 and the conversion phase will require $30,000.
The requirements for this website redevelopment project are discussed in the above paragraphs. The completion of
the project is crucial to ascertain the business benefits. The project plan of the website project is to be designed in
such a manner that all the identified work requirements are fulfilled. The requirements are aligned with the identified

developed by considering the main tasks that are needed to be done for project execution. It is observed that it is
possible to finish the project on the Christmas Eve without any delays in the project. The following table gives an
