IntroductionStrategic leadership refers to the potential of manager in an organisation in order to expressthe strategies and vision for the organisation.Strategies with regard to leadership are developedto motivate and persuade employees satisfaction and productivity with the motive of achievingbusiness goals. This report will outline about strategic leadership plan of Tesco plc, which is aBritish multinational retail company operating business in groceries and general. It is the thirdlargest retailer in the world as measured by its revenue and ninth largest in the world. Tesco has6,569 shops across the world and serve satisfaction across international boundaries. This reportwill include the different characteristics of a good leader which assist in influencing employees.Further, the assignment will identify strength and weakness of leadership and stakeholdermanagement with the help of different tools like leadership styles, approach and traits.Furthermore, report will outline plan for the leadership skills which will aid in directing,motivating and influencing members of organisation to attain goal in minimum time. Section 4 Characteristics of good leaderA leader is that person who shows the way and who have the ability to motivate andinfluence others also to go on that way by providing clear direction to them. To be a good leaderfor the Tesco plc, leaders must have different qualities and characteristics that help them tobecome effective leader in the Tesco. These characteristics are:Honesty and Integrity – Leaders of Tesco Company are honest and have the integrityquality. They are very honest about their work and this is the real characteristics that make themsuccessful in their career (Priest and Gass, 2017). Honesty and the integrity both are the importantfactor for a good leader. An honest leader can honestly direct their team member in right way toachieve goal.Confidence – Confidence is another factor of a good leader. Leaders of Tesco plc and itsnew office leaders must have the confidence on their work and strategies so they can guide theirteam an employee without any fear. And also make sure about their decision and quality of work.So, they can also inspire and build confidence in their team members as well. That refers theacceptance of any kind of the responsibility. Leaders of the Tesco must have this characteristicthat they can handle and situation and can take any delicate responsibility of the organisation. Good communicator – Good leader have the quality of the effective communication.With this leader of the Tesco build strong relation with their team member and also with themanagement also (DuBrin, 2015). This also helps to motivate and influence their members easily. Commitment and Passion – Good leaders are committed and passionate regarding theirwork and responsibility. Leaders of the Tesco Company are committed about their task as theyhave done all their work on time with passion and also fulfil all their responsibilitiespassionately. Decision making skill – Good leaders have the effective decision-making quality to takedecision regarding their team and organisation. Leaders of Tesco have the good decision-makingskill, this help their employees to make effective decision for the task and for the organisation toincrease its productivity. Delegation and empowerment – everyone cannot do anything, so it is important for theleaders to focus only on the key responsibility. Good leaders of the Tesco motivate their memberand try to empower them to take responsibilities and they only focus on the important delegatetask. Creative and Innovation - Good leaders are creative and innovative. Leaders of Tescohelp the employees and find creative and innovative way to complete task and solve problem. Empathy – Lastly leaders have the quality of empathy, so that they can also understand theproblem of other (Mumford and et.al., 2017). Leaders of Tesco have these characteristics; they alsounderstand the problem of their employees in same way try to help them. Section 5 Analysis of leadership and stakeholder’s management strength and weaknessBeing a leader of the Tesco, have to apply some leadership styles in the organisation asaccording to the situation and behaviour of the employee. These different leadership styles helpthe leaders and the organisation to perform all the operation effectively.
