INTRODUCTION
Strategic management is involves setting objectives, analysing competitive environment
and internal organization. That is help to ensure about management roll out of the strategies
across organization. This is ongoing process and planning which is help to monitor and
assessment of the entire important element for organization in order to meet goals and objectives.
The present report is based on “Marks and Spencer” which British multinational retailer brand
company. The deals in various kinds of clothe, home product and food product. The report wills
analysis different methods of development by using strategic tool such as mergers, acquisition
and alliances. This will explain leadership style for company in order to managing changes. At
the end of the report will also highlight future sustainability strategy and further
recommendations for better growth in future.

Background information of Marks and Spencer.
Marks and Spencer is major British multinational retailer company with headquarter in
London. The company was founded in 1884 at United Kingdom by Micheal Marks and Thomas
Spencer. The company have their specialization in selling clothing, home products as well as
food products. This is also listed in London stock exchange and current have 959 stores across
the UK. Company have some brand such as Per Una, M&S collection and energy, Autograph
and Blue harbour (Drobyazko and et,al., 2019). Presently company have 80000 employees with
37.3 million net incomes. In the recent years, clothing sales of company have fallen whilst food
sales are increased in positive manner. The company also began to sell branded good. In 2012,
Steve Rowe finally becomes a director. Company is faced number of challenges one is
decreasing sales of product and services at market and another one is digital marketing. Most of
the companies are a use digital and online marketing in order to promote their product and
services at market place but M&S is not uses this. This is the biggest challenges for company.

Business development is very important process which is implement strategies and
opportunity across organization for promoting growth and boosts the revenue of company in
positive manner. This involves pursuing great opportunity in order to help their business growth
and identifying prospects and converting more leads into the customers. In order to develop
business of Marks and Spencer here is use some strategic tools which are explains below:

Acquisition is refers with the processes in that one company can buy other company in

the effective and variety of merger for increase the market values with share. That is help to
expand their business in another country and nation, the acquisition was done by company in
2016 Zalamdo with the purpose of expanding business in other country like Germany. This

case study, after corona virus various changes are comes at market place which can affect to
business of Marks and Spencer (Hayes, 2018). In that company need to make complete focus on
managing successful changes which will happens at market place in order to reduce their

get effective knowledge about products and services of company. Also, recommend for company
to build effective customer relations and make some changes in products as per customers needs
is help to attract more customers at market place. As well as motivate their employees by giving
