Executive Summary
The study is focused towards the understanding of strategic management as a career
option considering the various criteria that needs to be fulfilled as part of the post of strategic
management. The study will move forward through the consideration of the various scenarios
that would form parts of the tasks that are to be completed. Five separate tasks are considered for
essential analysis of the subject matter.

Background
The report is concerning the career move to an aspect of strategic management in an
organization. The concerned person has spent a significant time of his career as a senior manager
and has registered with a recruitment agency called the Harris Hall. The agency is to support the
person to get a higher ranking post in a given reputable organization.
Aims and objectives
The aim is to develop essential standards of performance that can help in the achievement
of goals that can ultimately lead to the achievement of the job position. The aim is to achieve the
given target within effective timeframes.
Firstly, the objective is to achieve the significant competencies that are related to the job
positions.
Secondly, there is a need to complete the tasks that are associated with the completion of
the target goals that can help to improve the prospects for getting the job in the sphere of
strategic organizational management.
Thirdly, an important objective is to optimize the performance levels for improving the
prospects of both securing the job position as well as performance for the organization after
selection.
Scope
The report cover all the significant areas of strategic organizational management.
Organizational management is multi-functional in nature and the various significant aspects that

are related to the management need to be explored in order to get comprehensive understanding
of the same. The report is focused towards evaluating and analyzing the same further.

Organization tasks related to the ‘Preparation for Application and Interviews’ demands
an analysis of the knowledge, efficiency and skills required for leadership as well as strategic
management.
Strategic management is the instrument used to realize the mission vision as well as goals
of an organization. According to the Bergh et al (2016), strategic management denotes a specific
branch of management which emphasizes on the formation of strategic vision, determine short
term and long-term objectives. The term ‘strategic leadership’ is intertwined with the subject of
‘strategic management’. ‘Strategic leadership’ can be considered as one of the potentialities of a
manager or leader, which are required to manage and train a vast workforce. The purpose of
‘strategic leadership’, is to enhance the productivity of the employees, without compromising on
the part of the employee motivation. Strategic leadership ensures the implementation of strategic
management.
The creation as well as achievement of organisational mission, vision and innovative
strategies depends largely on the knowledge, efficiency and skills of strategic management as
well as leadership. One of the skills required for the creation as well as implementation of
innovative strategies and achievement of organisational goals, is, delegation. For the purpose of
formulating effective strategies of delegation, the leader involved in conducting strategic
management should be well aware of what and when, how to delegate. Carter and Greer (2013),
