INTRODUCTIONManager is an individual who works in coordination with other people in order todrive an organisation towards achievement of success. These are those people whoformulate plans and strategies in order to support firm in accomplishment of businessobjectives. Management is defined as the procedure of harmonising as well ascoordinating employees and their activity. Manager has to play several important roles inan enterprise. It is essential for him to possess different qualities, skills and corecompetencies. As development of core competencies will help manager in performingtheir roles as well as fulling responsibilities in effective manner. Manager has highinfluencing and decision making power which helps in differentiating them from otherpeople in a company. Purpose of report is to identify interpersonal role of manager. Italso has focus on developing understanding about capabilities which are required to bepossessed by manager.1. Literature Review As per the view of Anderson & Anderson, (2010) manager has mainly 10 roles to beplayed in an organisation which can be categorised mainly into three groups which areinterpersonal, informational and decisional. The interpersonal functions include leadership,liaison and figurehead. Informational function involves spokesperson, monitor and discriminator.All these functions are directly linked to the success as well as growth of firm. As leadershipwhich is the part of interpersonal roles of manager is important in order to guide and motivatepeople to work according the superscribed standards. This activity is also essential to beperformed by the manager in order to assist firm in maintaining or improving businessperformance. The function of manager as an informer is to communicate business objectives andstrategies to employees as this will help workers in identifying their roles as well asresponsibilities.The significance of decisional role performed by manager continues to attract the interestof other people at workplace. The interpersonal function ofmanager is to develop as well as maintain work relationships with colleagues and Subordinates.The interpersonal role of managers as a liaison is to continue developing and maintaining therelationship with internal and external stakeholders in order to gain useful information. As perviews of Daft (2014) this activity will assist manager in identifying the strategies for leadingpeople. It is required by the manager to facilitate continues as well as effective communicationwith subordinates. As this strategy will support manager in influencing people to influenceemployees to improve their performance at workplace. As per the opinion of s (Dubrin, 2015). he has related the role of manager withleadership. They state that role of manager is to develop relationships with other employees in anenterprise, connect with them, motivate workers and provide subordinates with appropriatedirections. As per the views of (Chhokar, Brodbeck & House, (2013) manager who act asfigurehead plays an important role in fulfilling symbolic as well as social responsibilities. As perthe opinion of (Ladkin & Kichuk, (2017),interpersonal role of manager is to identify thetraining need of employees and provide them with an appropriate training. As this activity willhelp firm in increasing sustainability and gaining competitive strength .Management education has been that exposure to the theories, concepts and techniques ofthe various disciplines and functions of management will help managers do their work ineffective as well as efficient manner. Manager can improve their skills and core competencies by developing theunderstanding about several contingency approaches.As per the views of (Brown, Treviño & Harrison. (2005), manager is required to beinvolved in strategic planning, directing the organization and themselves. Management is aprocedure of getting work done and more preciselyAs per the opinion of Eccles. (2014), manager or leader in an enterprise should developunderstanding that there is direct and strong relationship between organisational strategy andbusiness structure.2
