1 STRATEGIES AND MEASURES AGAINST THE EPIDEMIC-COVID19 STRATEGIES AND MEASURES AGAINST THE EPIDEMIC-COVID19 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The main aspect of this Policy brief is considering the outbreak of and its impact in global economy and development of various countries. Secondary data has been considered as an ideal Methodology, to gather specific details on the condition that the world is facing. It has been found that the most affected country is the United States and origin of coronavirus China, has suppressed valuable data that could have been vital to fight the issue. On the other hand, the it has found that World Health Organization has reported on almost a regular basis and those reports are also very important. Consideringthereports, itcanbesaidthatthe guidelines provided by the World Health Organization shouldbeabidedbyeveryoneinordertoprotect themselves and their family members. Only with the helpofsocialdistancing, thisissuecanbeeasily mitigated until the vaccine is developed. INTRODUCTION In the first three decades from 1990-2020, globalization is an important factors which has maintained the economic stability of the countries worldwide. Globalization includes collaborating of developed countries with developing countries through export and import businesses, trading without tariffs, international travelling, and energy distributed across borders through cross border pipelines. However, due to many other negative factors of globalization, like disparities between countries, terrorism, cross border crimes and outbreak of diseases. Therefore, the focus of this guideline is on COVID 19 Pandemic, which have the possibility to increase the feeling of anti-globalization. COVID 19, corona virus had its first outbreak in Wuhan City of China, being the epicenter of this disease China saw a death toll of near about 3300 cases, with more than 82000 infected. The pandemic actually started in late January to early February, in China, they experienced near about 1000 cases every day, and 100 peoples were critical. World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared this disease a pandemic in 1 April 2020, with majority of the countries going into lockdown (who.int, 2020). COVID 19 has affected. The policy brief will explore further into the strategies and measures that must be adapted to eradicate the profound implications of this pandemic, which is affecting global economy as well as health.
2 STRATEGIES AND MEASURES AGAINST THE EPIDEMIC-COVID19 METHODOLOGY Themethodologyofthispolicybriefwillincludethe methodofsecondarydatacollection, thatisreferring various articles and journals a systematic review will be conducted. The review will include statistics, data’s and relevant information referred from Government authorized websites that provide the information regarding COVID 19 implication on labor market, global industries as well as on thehealthstandardsofpeopleworldwide. Research, results and conclusion Here the policy will describe the effect of COVID 19 on many companies, which are dependent on globalization, it has been observed that many developing countries dependent on China have seen as economic breakdown, along with many companies shutting their doors permanently and temporarily especially America, India, United Kingdom and many more countries. For example, Nike is total dependent on China for raw materials, and their production has been hugely affected due to the outbreak of this virus. Apart from that, Starbucks has to close their 4292 stores, which were all situated in China (who.int, 2020). Apple Company is also dependent on hardware parts to develop their products, therefore due to the outbreak of this pandemic they have started their search for new suppliers, for adhering to their production losses. China is considered to be the “world’s factory”, and there are at least 5 million employees are dependent on Apple production, which is not possible without China as most the manufacturing sites are in China. Similarly, businesses like rice exports; agriculture has been affected, as South American ranchers, Vietnamese Rice exportersand Americanfarmersallaredependenton China for advancedtechnological agriculture equipment’s. In case of India, they have targeted 100 gigawatts operational solar power capacity by the year 2022, but 80% of the imports of solar cells and modules was supposed to come from China, which has been halted due to the pandemic. Indonesia has aimed for 10 million Chinese tourists, but in the current situation, they are going through a loss of $4 billion (weforum.org, 2020). The effect of anti-globalization, due to the spread of the pandemic has risen, as many Chinese speaking tourist guides, employees working in apple have lost their lost their jobs or not in a halt position due to the lockdown. According to medical expert, there is still no vaccination that can eradicate the disease, and therefore serious implications of economic breakdown can be expected due to the continuation of lockdown, and less economic activity. The most affected is the aviation industry as more than 150 countries following the lockdown and quarantine practice, has barred travelling.Singapore is considered to the least affected by the disease with only 3252 cases, and death toll being only 10, with more than 600 people recovered.
3 STRATEGIES AND MEASURES AGAINST THE EPIDEMIC-COVID19 Research, results and conclusion…continuation… It has been stated by experts, that strict measures taken by the Singapore Government, with issuing punishments measures followed by the police diligently, in case of violation of isolation practices by people. They have taken example from the SARS disease, which affected Singapore residents in a huge manner; they have prepared their measures beforehand. It has been recorded that in the beginning of March, Hong Kong cancelled their Cathay Pacific weekly flights by three quarters. In United States, there has been a cut down of domestic and International flights by 10 to 20 percent consecutively, along with British Airways putting astop on their 400 flights, affecting the aviation industry in much higher extent than any other industries(who.int, 2020). The mostly affected areas is the United States Aviation industry, as by march 2020, they had to suspend all the flights coming from Europe, as well putting a stop to the International commercial fights which comprises majorityoftheireconomycontributedinthedevelopmentoftheiraviationindustries.Accordingtotheestimateof “International Air Transport Association (IATA)”, that there will be “passenger ticket revenue loss” by $63 billion to $113 billion due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. By this it can be understood that, preventive measures for such situations has been lacking in many countries, dependency on China has hated many businesses, taken away employment and can be a serious threat to the global economy employment rate is decreasing, health standards are threatened, trade businesses are halted. According to many experts, the COVID 19 situation will create a period of recession, and this will be more serious condition than the 2008 recession.

5 STRATEGIES AND MEASURES AGAINST THE EPIDEMIC-COVID19 CONTINUATION….. Connecting with countries:According to the “International Heath Regulations 2005”, updatesare being provided by analyzing daily situation reports, dashboards presenting data’s and statistics. Connecting with partners worldwide:the WHO organization is also working with UN agencies, Emergency Medical Teamsaswellas“GlobalOutbreakAlertandResponseNetwork(GOARN)”,aswellotherdonoragencies (worldometers.info2020). This collaboration has helped WHO is rendering helping hand to various countries trying to cope up with the situation of the pandemic. Helping other countries:WHO is launching rapid detection and Response to Cases in various countries, and especially cases related to clusters and community outbreak. They have taken support from the agencies and have taken steps in providing supplies, and given technical expert guides and training for reducing the chances of outbreak. WHO has also adhered to the Secondary Data Collection Methods, in keeping track of the constant records related to pandemic COVID 19, they are doing scientific findings and knowledge gathering through journal articles. They give daily update by searching bibliographic databases, website searching of relevant journals. The regular addition to the updates of the disease is providing people with adequate knowledge and the awareness to take strict measures related to the outbreak of COVID 19. Personal Recommendations According to aspistrategist.org.au, 2020, the steps taken by Singapore is considered ideal, for containing the disease. Singapore have shown such patience and smartness in controlling the disease spread, even after developed countries could not refrain themselves from the spread. Governments should always be ready with some risk management procedures in case of natural disasters or spread of some pandemic disease. WHO has issued official, statements for countries who should practice lockdown, people staying at home and not indulging in public gatherings; as well as WHO has provided ways of social distancing, hand washing and hygiene techniques have also launched guidelines. Therefore, my personal recommendations is to follow the guidelines
