Introduction
In the globalized economy, cultural diversity is an important aspect.
Understanding cultural differences is important for the success of a business.
However, understanding language etiquette, nuances, and cultural time
management difference may assist employees to navigate complex
interactions. Language has been a major factor in enhancing the cultural
differences in an organization. Using the appropriate language to respond to
different cultures when planning for business communication is a major
business survival strategy in the global economy. Culture affects all aspects
of business communication including production, contract negotiation,
human resources decisions, and marketing campaigns. Therefore language
and communication have a strong relationship which may impact business
communication.
Levels of culture
Culture consists of three levels. The first level is artifacts. This is the
most viable and observable level of culture which consists of behavior
patterns and outward manifestation. This level comprises of the dress codes,
the physical layout of workplaces, and the technology used by the
organization. They are all indicators of culture in an organization but may be
difficult to interpret. The artifact assists the management to understand what
a group is doing but not the reason behind. The second level is values.
Values determine behavior. Moreover espoused values represent the public
statements concerning the organizational values. Most organizations today
communicate their core values. This guides the organization in the right
direction. The third level is the underlying assumptions. For an organization
to understand the concept of culture, it should understand the underlying
beliefs and assumptions. The underlying assumption develops out of
awareness. This includes the way activities are done in an organization such
as rewarding.

Relationship between language and culture
Language and culture have a wide relationship. A particular language
points out a specific group of people. When individuals interact with another
language, it means that they are interacting with the culture that speaks that
language. For a person to understand a different culture, they should be able
to understand directly that language. When people learn a new language,
they not only learn the arrangement of words and rules of grammar but
incorporate society’s behavior and customs (Thuesen, 2017, pp.937). Culture
influences how people communicate and the language they use in different
environmental settings. Moreover, communication is essential for persons
who want to understand and associate with people who have different beliefs
and background. Therefore, cultural identity can be marked by language. On
the other hand, the cultural attributes of a specific group of people are
expressed through language. Language is used to bring out unique objects of
a particular culture. This reveals that teaching and learning another
language is important for intention cooperation and communication. The
knowledge of other languages leaders has knowledge of other nations and
the specific culture of each one. Culture and language have a relationship
through their modes of transmission. Culture is transmitted through
teaching. Culture is also similar to the language since both rea likely to
change over time. Example, industrialized countries experience raid
language changes. The language change I turn leads to a change in culture.

people believe that their way of doing things is always right. This means that
they show superiority over others. Ethnocentric people believe that they are
better than other individuals for reasons based mainly on their heritage. This
issue is associated with prejudice and racism. This leads to a negative
perception of other people’s behavior as improper and odd. Another barrier
