The essay analyses the issue of online dating and its effects on America. Generally, technology
has become a huge part of everyday life in the entire world (Chappetta & Joan, 78). Everywhere
you look people you find them busy using the internet either through the use of smart phones or
the use of personal computer. The concept of technology has enhanced communication for most
people in the world. It's through technology whereby society has experienced huge changes in
different field such as the issue of online dating. Online dating is all over in the world so long as
one can access the internet. Online dating involves meeting people without face to face
interaction thus enhancing the aspect of the relationship (Corriero & Stephanie, 43).Most of the
people in America prefer online dating than meeting someone face to face. The issue of online
dating in America has been catalyzed by increased use of networks and also increased innovation
in computer programs that comes up with new online dating apps.
In America, online dating mostly affects the online users. After much innovation has been done
in the field of technology; more online dating apps have been designed so as to help people
search their matching partners online. The topic is important since it tries to enlighten Americans
on the effects of online dating. Currently, the entire state is in position to access online services
meaning that more online dating apps are everywhere and the whole population still practicing

In order to address the topic, the following sources have been used to reveal the ugly truth about
online dating in America.
Bapna et al., (12) show how most of the people in America lie on their dating profiles. A study of
more than 1000 online users in America has revealed some important statistics. More than 70%
of the online users in America have admitted having lied in their online dating profiles. Most of
the women using online apps usually lie more compared to men. Most dishonesty is more on
looks whereby most lies revolve around posting photos showing their financial situations and
about having better jobs than they actually do .Therefore, the source clearly indicates the issue of
dishonesty which is found online (Bapna et.,34).
Huber and Neil (17) indicate how Americans have been affected by scam-internet. Online dating
platforms basically have designed to come up with new sophisticated ways of conning people.
Just to be honest online dating is entirely the super elaborate farce designed to allow
unscrupulous vendors to separate Americans from their money in whatever means. Most of the
online dating apps will request one to send money so as to subscribe for premium services but
immediately one sends the money the site starts misbehaving -whereby one is blocked from

accessing the online dating app (Huber and Neil, 117).This is a scam and America is under
danger thus one need to be keen when accessing online.
Jung et al., (20) indicates how online dating has resulted to break down in relationships and
marriages in America. According to research conducted at Michigan State University,
relationships which start through online are 56% likely to break down than relationships which
started face to face. This shows that most of the partners in online not for long lasting
relationships.
Part 3: My position
Basically, my position is that people who meet online are just like the normal strangers we face
on our roads every day. From the three authors discussed in part 2, one can argue that online
dating not only provides the means to look for partners in America but also provides room for
unethical activities within the state. It's true that online dating has paved the way for scamming
issues, the aspect of dishonesty in the state and divorce in relationships. The authors
categorically prove the disadvantages of online dating to the state.
Conclusion
To sum up online dating in America completely induces changes in the society. The authors have
analyzed how America is under danger of dishonesty in online, short lasting relationships and
also the concept of scamming. The three positions entirely show that online dating in America
needs to be regulated appropriately.
