INTRODUCTION
Sustainability Defined as business approach that creates long term value by taking into
consideration that how enterprise operates in ecological, social and economic environment
(Higgins-Desbiolles, Moskwa and Wijesinghe, 2019). Additionally, sustainability business
practices based on assumption that develops plan of action that aids to fosters the longevity of an
enterprise. Thus, main purpose of this is to support and drive the company as a going concern for
the longer period of time.
For carrying out the present assignment the chosen enterprise is as Bakers Delight, this is
large Australian owned bakery franchise chain, of which outlest are also located in the New
Zealand and Canada.
Furthermore, study will focus on activities as to develop sustainability indicators
monitoring system for the chosen enterprise. Also, features of effective monitoring system will
be defined as this contribute to better indicators. Additionally, report will cover sustainability
dimension such as socio-culture, economic and environmental dimension that will be apply to
operation of chosen enterprise. Lastly, one specific sustainability area will be chosen to monitor
the one specific dimension.

Characteristics of effective monitoring system.
Sustainable development indicators termed out as indicators that assist to measure
progress that made in sustainable growth and development. Effective monitoring and evaluating
system helps identify promising interventions at the early phase so that they can potentially be
enforced elsewhere (Kraak, 2019). This also aids to undertake measurement of the company's
performance and this also supports to monitor and report on future progress. In order to maintain
the operational working, restaurant is trying to adopt the sustainable measures that aids to meet
out the environmental responsibility to use energy-efficient tools. Hence, sustainability can be
measured out with help of indicators such as environment, social and economic. This needs to
be done in order to measure out company performance to monitor the working and to define the
report on future progress. In contrary to Teixeira, Korres and Bringhenti, (2020) stated that if
any Restaurant uses those materials that aids in water diversion, energy efficiency but also

includes the non environmental issues life labour practices etc. These are the indicators that helps
to measure out the future progress of entity.
In addition to it, Trafialek, Czarniecka-Skubina and Vaitkevičienė, (2020) stated
monitoring and evaluation affect the development of an categorization plan to measure the
performance of adaptation endeavour in terms of relevancy, effectualness, efficiency, results and
sustainability of the results. Indicators are a core part of it. Therefore, the good indicator are

macro-level indicators such as GDP per capita, along with components such as access to
employment, education, and credit, which emphasize the role of individual opportunity. By
measuring the quality of a Restaurant's waste water treatment and its land-use patterns can help
illustrate how environmental quality is enhancing. These kind of the indicators aids to define the
future growth of the enterprise.
Introduction to chosen enterprise
The present report is based on the business activities of Bakers Delight, It is large
Australian owner bakery franchise chain. This entity was established in the year 1980. However,
this chosen enterprise has almost 700 bakeries globally. This is enterprise that takes various
initiatives to run business practices with sustainability (Salmivaara and Lankoski, 2019). In
addition to this, the quoted enterprise has developed an energy-efficient bakery that is capable of
achieving a 32% diminution in energy costs and a 48% reduction in greenhouse gas discharge.
To keep up the sustainable practices, the manager of Bakers Delight take efforts hired skilled and
train bakery staff, oversee budgeting, and place order for supplies. Additionally, they also works
as to set the product prices and determine the amount of goods to produce daily.
Thus, main purpose of this entity is to run their business practice for the longer term with
help of their commitment to sustainability as this is an integral part of loyalty to the customers.
