This article reflects on the importance of sustainable tourism development and its proper management along with the responsible practices that are necessary to implement in the host destination. The author shares their experience of studying THT2114 and how it changed their view about the tourism sector of Uganda. The article also discusses the global challenges of reducing economic and social inequalities, the guidelines for sustainable tourism, and the benefits of sustainable consumption and production. The author also reflects on the influence of cultural background, education, and life experiences on sustainable practices in the future.
