Introduction
The 21st century is the age of overpopulation and a majority of the problems of the
modern day world is caused by pollution and its effects on the everyday life. This is one of
the most major and growing concerns of the modern day scenario. Another cause behind this
can be the large-scale urbanization.According to the views of Cox (2013), more and more
people are moving towards the cities. This causes overutilization of resources and space as a
result of which deforestation and exhaustion of fossil fuel is of prime concern. In the
following reflective analysis, the two most important things that are to be used in this modern
day civilization to control the environmental pollution are the sustainable management of
waste and the promotion of green building (Sorvig and Thompson, 2018).This kind of
solution from the government and the private sectors will help to make sure that the
environment is protected to a major extent as well as the consequences of the previous
exploitation is reduced to a major term. The sustainable management of waste and the
promotion of green building will help in the preservation of the environment of the times.

Part 1
The issue that is selected is the large-scale pollution that is caused due to the
accumulation of the solid waste and the other is the huge depletion of the green trees. This, in
turn, gives rise to several problems including health hazards as there is a lack of oxygen as

well. This issue is one of the major challenges as the lack of sufficient amount of trees creates
the depletion of oxygen. On the other hand, the huge solid waste accumulation can give rise
to many diseases. It can create breathing problems and also many hazardous skin diseases as
well (Kibert 2016). This is a challenge because every day a huge amount of waste in the solid
form is disposed of from the households, restaurant, municipalities and many other such
places. This Waste causes a huge amount of suspended materials that are toxic in nature.The
amount of this waste is accountable to approximately 22% of the waste in the country which
is one of the major problems in the concerned time. The waste in Australia is really a real
concern as most of the population of the country have an affinity to use products that can
result in major waste issues which needs to be managed by the use of the means.

In the modern day scenario, the amount of pollution is increasing day by day and one
of the major cause is the lack of greenery around us. In other words, there is a large scale
deforestation that is taking place. A large number of industries and houses are being built,
which is using a huge amount of space. This is not only making everything very congested
but the amount of oxygen is also depleting day by day. This is giving rise to many problems
like the respiratory tract disorders, asthma, and others. Green building is one if the best means
to deal with this problem of large-scale deforestation. It is a means of constructing the houses
or the offices by surrounding it with a large number of green plants so that the problem is
dealt with.

So, thispollution is giving rise to a huge amount of problems. Solving this matter is
becoming a huge challenge. This is because people do not know about the fears that are
associated with the indiscriminate felling of trees or the dumping of the toxic solid wastes.
One of the major issues that are being faced nowadays is deforestation. So a green building is
one of the best means of solving this problem (Du et al., 2015). Green building will help in
solving the problem of urbanization and the need for providing shelter and employment to a

large number of people. This will neither hamper the air, water, land, and other ecological
setup and at the same time, it will also help in conserving nature. One of the very good
examples can the building in Amsterdam called the EDGE(Peck 2012). This building is
constructed in such a way that it can use the maximum amount of sunlight and thus reduce its
electricity consumption.According to Armstrong and McGee(2013), It uses about 70% less
electricity than the other building or corporate buildings. It has ventilation made in such way
so that the fresh and clean air can circulate properly.

The other measures that can be taken are using the method of forestation. This will
help in conserving nature by planting more number of trees. There must be proper campaigns
conducted in every building and schools so that they get to know the importance of planting
more number of trees (Lawrence and Vandecar 2015). It also has a Smartphone app that helps
in adjusting the employees with the temperature that they need.
What if
With the introduction of the green house and the sustainable waste management, the
conservation of energy can be done which is one of the major measures of the environment
and the worldly affairs. With the introduction of the green building and the sustainable waste
management, the other buildings and the issues related to the waste and its managements has
taken a backseat. The introduction of the green building and the sustainable waste
management is one of the basic concepts of the conservation of energy.

The other problem is the soil pollution that is caused due to the dumping of the solid
wastes. A huge amount of waste is thrown away by the houses each day into the nearby lake,
or the open ground. This, in turn, gives rise to the huge amount of smell or gives rise to the
production of algae. So there has to be sustainable solid waste management. This problem
needs to be solved immediately and it is for this reason that the amount of pollution is
increasing day by day. Each day a huge amount of solid wastes like plastic, CD, scraps of
food wastes, cans and other such materials. The solid wastes are getting accumulated day by
day on the open ground. Some of them also get dissolved in the water and this water is used
up by many people for their day to day purposes like bathing, washing and other such

materials. The solid wastes like the plastics, cans, bottles contaminate the water and in turn
harm the aquatic life as well. Every year the aquatic flora and fauna are getting harmed a
great deal. So, it is for this reason that the sustainable solid waste management methods have
to be used.

One of the major issues that can be identified is the use of Gobar gas for the
sustainable waste management system. The waste management system is prone to health and
environmental hazards and so the use of the gas plant can help to improve the methane
collection system. As a result of the fact, the food waste can be checked in the case.

The other measures that can be taken are treating the wastes before throwing them on
the ground. The landfills can be constructed by using the modern methods like the engineered
landfills of solid wastes and other such materials. This idea has to be conveyed among all the
people and the change has to be brought from the grassroots level. It is for this reason that
there must be many campaigns that are to be held in the schools, offices and even at the
localities (Darko and Chan, 2016). Particularly the villagers living in the remote regions are
to be educated properly. They must be advised on using the proper sanitation facilities having
proper drainage systems so that they open dumping of the solid wastes can be easily
minimized.
What if
If this method can be followed then the amount of solid waste will be reduced a great
deal and the pollution can also be controlled. If these wastes are dumped without proper
treatment, then it can cause a huge problem for the human beings and the marine life as well.
This will help in treating the wastes properly to remove the toxic material and then dispose it
into the compost or the landfill. They can also use the covered land landfills for proper
protection against the solid wastes (Zuo and Zhao, 2014).

remarks
The stakeholders here are the civil engineers who will be constructing the buildings.
They will also take help of some agricultural experts or some environmentalists who will help
in designing the building in a way so that there is the optimum utilization of the natural
resources like the sunlight, fresh air. According to the views of Selvam and Wong (2013),
they might also involve some risk management officials who will be planning the upcoming

risks that might crop up. As it is a very new upcoming concept they must be contacting with
some of the advertising and media people so that they can be making more people aware
about this new concept. Apart from this, there are the internal stakeholders who have to play
a major role in maintaining the Green buildings. The internal stakeholders like the employees
will make sure that they are trying to manage the wastage of the natural resources. They have
to make sure that the lights and fans are being switched off before they leave the room. They
must know how to make use of the sunrays in the sunlight rooms rather than keeping the
lights on for a long time (Selvam and Wong 2016). The other stakeholder is the board of
directors who must be conducting some training for the employees so that they understand
the methods of sustainable waste management.
Therefore in the views of Zuo and Zhao (2014) for an instance if this initiative is
being taken in any industry or office buildings, it is the prime duty of the employees to make
sure that they are helping to maintain the green buildings.
On the other hand, there will be the conservation of the limited energy resources like
the electricity, fire and other such energy sources (Selvam and Wong 2016). The other
stakeholders who are involved are the marketing department officials who will be carrying on
the campaigns at different places like the schools, colleges and also the residential complexes
of the cities and towns.

Stakeholder is defined as the persons who are associated with a business or
organization and they are the part of the business or the enterprise. According to Jones,
Wicks and Freeman, (2017) the people in the business are associated with both the profit and
loss of the organization and also has one of the major stakes in the business of the

organization. They can be the workers of the particular organization or can be the investors
who are there in the organization accountable for the loss or profit in the organizational
structure. Some of the examples are the civil engineers will be constructing the building, the
employees and the board of directors who will be maintaining the waste management system.
Make a comprehensive list of requirements of previously identified stakeholders.
The stakeholders will need materials like proper materials that are naturally obtained
and not produced chemically. They will also need a good amount of capital for buying the
tools and machinery for making these products (Pilli et al., 2016).The machinery and the
products are absolutely required to make sure that the production of the green building and
the sustainable waste management is done in an environmentally friendly manner. One of the
comprehensive list of the stakeholders are the facts that the inclusion of the green and
environmentally friendly necessitate in the conduction of the green building and the
sustainable waste management system (Lawrence and Weber 2014). The stakeholders of the
project are there to maintain the amount of sustainability in the whole ratio of the life and to
make sure that each of the stakeholders in the project have an affinity for the sustainability
through green buildings and eco-friendly waste management.
Conclusion
So, it can be concluded that there has to be increased awareness about green building
and the sustainable solid waste management. These two are the major concerns of the modern
day scenario and hence have to be properly dealt with. The green building is a very good and
helpful concept that must be adopted by all the construction companies. It is the duty of all
the corporate houses to construct their corporate buildings in such a way that there is the
maximum utilization of the natural resources.
