Systems Development Life Cycle
System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a framework of developing projects based on
a conceptual model. It involves several stages of development to finalize an information system
project. Starting from a feasibility analysis to the complete the system, it can be applied in both
technical and non-technical developments (Scroggins 2014). Hardware and software both are
used in the development process which can also be treated as iterative process. It keeps the
project manager, IT specialist, development teams and engineers involved during the phases
(Dennis, Wixom and Roth 2018). Software development life cycle is also similar to the system
development life cycle except focusing specifically on the development of the software. In this
document, the six phases and their activities are discussed for development of the Gold-Cinema
Project. The discussion of the core activities are given below according to the phases:
i. Planning: This phase of the SDLC deals with the planning of the project along with the
feasibility analysis, time to complete the project, work break down structure etc. In this
phases it is identified that what activities should be done to develop the system
(Tasevska, Damij and Damij 2014). It also consists the resources of the project within the
plan. The existing is evaluated and based on the processes the estimation of the activities
can be done.
ii. Analysis: This phase of SDLC deals with the analysis part where the process flow,
business requirements, system requirements are gathered and analyzed for the design
part. It can be both functional and non-functional requirements for the system. The output
of the planning part work as the input of the analysis part. In this part, the improvements
and enhancements over the existing system are also added after the analysis (Dick, Hull

and Jackson 2017). This part plays a crucial role for the system design and infrastructure
design for the Gold-Cinema System. The system is proposed with the final features and
configurations.
iii. Design: System design is done on the basis of the defined requirements in the analysis
part of the development. The requirements are based on the business process of the
Global-Cinema company. The system design for the Global-Cinema can be done using
the Unified modeling Language technique. It is the most widely used design framework
in SDLC (Verma 2014). A use case diagram for the proposed system is also developed
which is shown in figure 4.
iv. Development: Using the developed system design in the previous phase, the code for the
online system can be developed. Object oriented modeling requires object-oriented
solution. Hence the system can be developed using object oriented languages for backend
process of the system. For the front end there are many frameworks are available to
develop. It can be an app based or web a based online system. The codes can be
developed into blocks within packages.
v. Integration: In this phase the developed blocks are tested individually and again after
integrating the pieces together. After integration testing, the different parts and
functionality of the system can also be tested for different use case scenarios created by
the developers (Crookshanks 2015). After the testing it can be ready for the deployment.
vi. Deployment: This is important phase of the development which shows the actual
implementation and planned project in term of duration, budget requirements etc. After
all the successful testing the System can be deployed for the customer of Gold-Cinema to
