System design and design
Introduction
The current business society has become more challenging with the increasing workload brought
about by the growing number of the customer. For a business to maintain its edge in the business
society, it has to ensure its customers' data is managed effectively. This has been made possible
by the incorporation of the MIS (Management Information systems). This system has made it
possible for the business to manage customer data and serve its customer effectively and
efficiently by handling the normal business processes.
The management information system is a designed computer system that has both its hardware
and software component that serves the purpose of meeting the business requirement. Before a
system is developed, the business requirements have to be derived through analyzing the current
system. The success of a management system is dependent on the analysis of a system which
includes the requirement, different business entities and the flow of information from one entity
to another.
From this report, the Australia Medical Center (AMC) will be analyzed and an appropriate MIS
system will be suggested. In addition to this, the UML diagrams will be explained in this report
to communicate the system component to the system developers (Dennis, Wixom and Tegarden,
2009).
1. System requirements
For a system to be installed and run successfully some requirements have to be met, this can be
classified into hardware requirement and software requirement. If the system requirements are
not meet, it will result in the software not running or cause installation problems. In case either
of the former doesn't result in an error, it may, later on, cause malfunctioning or outage of the
system due to hanging.
The following are the hardware requirement that needs to be installed in each of the systems.
Hardware requirements
Desktop/ laptops

These will be used as an access point for the hospital personnel. It is more effective to have
laptops so that they can easily walk with it and work from other station rather than the AMC
works-space. The laptop features should fulfill the below requirements (Li, Najafi, and Lilja,
2016):
The internal storage of 500 GB and above, this will enable the personnel store and
manipulate information and local store them in the computer.
A display of a minimum of 15.6" (39.62 cm) display, 1366 x 768 px- this will make it
convenient since the screen resolution ill offer clear imaging
Processor core i3 sixth generation – this will enable the operation to run on the machine
effectively and consume fewer resources in the form of time
Ram 4 GB DDR4- This will also boost the speed of performing a task on the computer.
Despite the portable laptops, there must be fixed desktops that can be freely used by the
personnel and also the patient. The following are the feature:
CPU OF 2 GZ and above
At least 2 GB RAM
At least 2 USB ports
LCD monitor- it will offer a clear vision of images and document
Printer
A printer will come handy when it comes to generating a hard copy document. The proposed
printer for the AMC will also have a scanner that can make electronic copies of hard copies.
LAN
A local area network will come in handy to offer the center with internet access. The system will
have to access information that is stored in the servers. The local area network will be restricted
to the AMC personnel to reduce misuse.
WI-FI routers
The Wi-Fi router will be open to the patients who visit the center. They can easily access the
internet to see if there is any information that been uploaded to their email accounts. The router
