Introduction
FastFit gym, a local fitness development organization is keen on implementing a system
for providing its customers with online booking facilities for booking into the different fitness
workshop provided by the organization. It is a positive approach for any organization to digitize
its business process and enabling the customers to access the information online and even book
them virtually without being present at the organization venue themselves1. Therefore, the
FastFit gym requires designing and developing a system for the organization for the benefit of
the customers for booking their desired fitness program online and also checking for the
availability of the other workshops and classes to book 9 classes at a time. Thus, the following
report would have a prototype ready for the system design including the justification for the
design, a business case for the system implementation, the scope of the project, the brief cost and
schedule analysis, and the major functions to meet the business needs with the system design.
Further the system design would have a 0-Level DFD and Context Diagram describing the
system, an ERD and TCO with the example of the system design displayed via 3 screen
interfaces.
Justification for the Development of System Design for FastFit
The technological advancement of the latest era has created a zone of competition in the
business environment. Thus, it has become extremely necessary that organizations should keep
themselves upgraded with the adaptation of the latest technologies to get ahead of their

competitors2. Following would be the identified business benefits that the organization is going
to experience with the system design and website development:
1. Seamless availability of Customer Service: A company’s sole priority should be
implementing such a system that would be economic and at the same time would provide smooth
services to the customers. It will always not be possible for a client to get hold of the physical
existence of the organization the client is trying to reach out to. It is not always possible to attend
a lot of customers physically at the same time even. The proper solution to this problem is by
implementing a system design that would enable the customers and the potential customers as
well to have the services and classes provisioned by the FastFit Gym.
2. Acquiring Customer and Market: It would also enable them to book for their
required classes with the enabling of online payment as well3. A system design for any
organisation is absolutely justifiable because it will not only make sure that the reach of the
organisation transfers to a much larger zone of people including the existing and potential
customers and also this will happen at the much smaller amount of money being invested.
3. Economic Benefits: Having a website would enable implementing lesser cost in
maintenance of physical databases of the people who have booked their classes with the FastFit
Gym and it would make it much simpler to handle for the organization about all the bookings
taken at random.
4. Ready availability: There are also other advantages of making an organisation
available as a website to the customers. This includes ready availability of the services at every

given point of time for the benefit of the customers and the hassle free method of payment.
Therefore, it is justified that FastFit gym has an own system design.
Business Case in favour of the implementation of the system
The Business Case prepared in favour of the implementation of the system for the
organization of FastFit Gym can be prepared as below:

The project as requirements is about
developing a system design for FastFit gym.
The gym would enable all kinds of customers
be existing or potential to book the classes
and services provided by the gym through the
online web portal with the entire information
about the class timings and the payments
according to the services and classes.
Goals and Objectives
The primary goals and objectives of building
the system design for FastFit gym is to
provide the customers with an online service
available at any given point of time and also
to make sure that the market breach of the
services provided by the gym reaches to the
most number of people which is physically
not possible to reach through a non-virtual
platform.
Anticipated Performances The system design is assumed to enable the
customers with providing information about
the weekly workshops that the gym holds like
Zumba Pilates and yoga classes. It is also
assume that a user would be able to book the
required classes with the information
provided of the days of the week that every
class runs the start time end time and the rates
of for class. The system design is anticipated
to enable every person to see how dense the
classes are since it is a fixed feature about

every class that each class would hold a
maximum of 20 people. Therefore the people
would be able to see how many seats have
already been reserved and book the classes
according to that. The system is also designed
under the pretext that a customer can have
prepaid classes booked through their Web
Services as well as the mobile devices for 10
class is valid for six months at a time. The
system should allow them to buy up to 9
individual lessons and a maximum of two
prepaid passport customer.
Project Assumptions
The project is resume to reach out to the
maximum number of people as possible that
would enable not only the existing customers
to book for their classes but would also reach
to a maximum number of potential customers
who would like to book the services online
and prepare for their classes. The project is
also assumed to reduce the trial of taking
physical booking from the customers even
when the number of customers at a time reach
the saturation point of taking a physical
booking.
Major Milestones
At first the project would like to reach
milestone of about establishing a website
enabling for the classes like Zumba Pilates
and yoga. Initially this is the plan but for that
it would also like to enable different other
features which would be done through
extensive research about how the website is
working right now.

Major functions to meet the business needs
Majorly, any business focuses on meeting the business needs in general. This is justified
by the gaining of more customers and having much more return on investment and having much
more return on Investments. It can be seen that due to the provision of the services of fast fit gym
available over the web it has reached a new level of reaching the market. Of what was the market
reach before with the physical existence of the gym it can be seen that the organisation is able to
reach much more amongst its clients through the web portal4. Therefore it is justified that a web

Conclusion
Thus, it can be concluded from the above report that the FastFit gym requires designing
and developing a system for the organization for the benefit of the customers for booking their
desired fitness program online and also checking for the availability of the other workshops and
classes to book 9 classes at a time. This has been properly justified witha prototype ready for the
system design including the justification for the design, a business case for the system
implementation, the scope of the project, the brief cost and schedule analysis, and the major
functions to meet the business needs with the system design. Further the system design had been
