The data in the table is based on the estimated cost of installation of IoT in a medium size office with
100 -120 employees.
Social Benefits
The IoT implementation can benefit a large sector of industries ranging from diverse fields like
healthcare, transport, supply chain, public health and transport, offices security, retail environments,
operational optimization of workplace safety, navigation and logistics, Smart homes, human health
and fitness monitoring (Niyato, Lu, Wang and Kim, 2015).
5G enables faster delivery of medicines through e-Health or m-Health applications and online
websites which provide a platform for the sale of medicines. The medicines can be chosen online on
uploading the prescription and can be transferred anywhere through supply chain.
5G improves the research and clinical trials by improved flexibility and remote monitoring. More
people can participate in clinical trials through online registration. The technology has improved the
accessibility of medical devices and facilitated faster introduction of new drugs in the market.
The 5G has improved the marketing of pharmaceutical industry through social networking. The 5G
technology has improved the accessibility of medicines to distant places through mobile apps and
websites of pharmaceutical companies connecting directly with the customers. The people can order
the medicines, can consult the doctors online through these apps and can avail medicines on the

There are regulatory and manufacturing standards like PPP Infrastructure, OPC UA, GS1 and ISA

Ethically, the misleading practices implemented by the Pharmaceutical industry such as off label drug
marketing and conflicts of interests must be prevented (Fleck, 2018). The drug risk information should
be provided in the advertisements and marketing. The risks associated with drug interactions and
conflicts of interests should be included on the package description. Mainly the financial and profit

These must be avoided either in hospitals or in online medicines portability.

TASK 13: POTENTIAL RISKS TO BENEFITS REALISATION
(In this section you as a program manager need to identify and address the potential risks (at least 3
potential risks) that could lead to this benefit not being realised. It is important to ensure that these
risks are transferred to the project/programme or business area’s risk register as required)
You are to analyse the identified risks using the scales below and provide countermeasure to tackle
these risks Likelihood (1 very low to 5 very high)
Impact on Benefit (1 very low to 5 very high)
1. The Device Security and awareness can be enhanced by protocol analysis, portal scanning,
and techniques to identify which devices are connected to the network of the Organization.
Risk assessments of the network devices and penetration tests can be done to identify a list
of approved devices connected to the company network. It is highly likely (level 5) that the
network may be penetrated by unintended devices.
2. Authentication and Authorization to enter the network should be based on hardware based
roots of trust. Biometrics, digital certificates and other encryptions can be helpful. There are
high chances of disruption, IoT distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and IoT Botnets
(Level 5).
3. There are risk to privacy and need to protect the integrity of IoT data (Level 4). The IoT
passwords need to be hardcoded, cryptography can be used to make the devices more
secure.

The IoT
passwords need to be hardcoded, cryptography can be used to make the devices more
secure.
