Introduction
The Organisation culture is regarded as the set of values & norms that are shared by
member in organisation. The culture is associated with helping employees in performing
different functions. It is influencing the overall organisation behaviour and other management
aspects that is important to develop detail understanding. TESCO is a British multinational brand
that is having its headquarters in England (Jooss, Burbach, and Ruël, 2021). It is one of the
largest grocery retail brand that is having its presence across Europe and is also a market leader
of groceries across UK. current report is on analyse the basic concept of talent management in
retail sector apart from this while in the process of implementation of required culture change
talent management aspect play a very important part that will be evaluated.

Research Aim and Rationale;
Aim: :To examine the part of various Talent management practises to be used
as a lever for culture change”: A case study on TESCO
Rationale:
The main purpose of the present research work is to analyse the function of talent
management as a lever of culture change. By conducting the present research work there are two
major aspects that is professional and personal perspective of this research work. Such as the
personal perspective is the learning of way talent management is going to help in the process of
having effective implementation of cultural change aspect (Chen, Tansley and Chou, 2021). In
professional perspective there will be development of various skill sets that includes researching
skills, communication skill sets and other associated skills that are crucial for both personal and
professional development of a individual;.

What are some of the issues faced by organisation in the course of required culture
change?
What is the role of talent management to use it as lever for effective culture change in

Significance of the Research
Present research work is of high significance as it will help in the process of developing
detail overview of way talent management strategies are helping organizations in the process of
managing the overall organization functioning. The research work is going to assist researcher in
development of adequate knowledge base to understand the way talent management strategies
that help in the process of managing overall organization functioning. It is going to develop a
research base for future course of researchers in the area of way there is lever of culture in
organizations (Gupta, 2019). If there are issues and failure in the overall process of talent-
management in organizations then it may result into dysfunctional or issues which can lead to
shortfall of surplus talent in long run (Yurdagul, 2020). So it becomes important to develop
detail understanding of the way talent management practices can lead towards dealing with
shortfalls and execute functioning in the required effectuate manner.

This section is based on having sufficient information base that will be collected from
identified journal articles, books and other online available sources (Ntaopane and Vermeulen,
2019). This section will set up the basis of overall research work. It is going to assist in analyzing
and reviewing the existing view points of various existing researches that have been done in the
similar course of research area.

Basic idea of talent management in TESCO
The aim of the article is to provide understanding about the concept of talent management which
further allow an organization to retain its staff members for longer time period.
The article gave a background of talent management concept, process and models used by a
company in order to manage talent at workplace.
According to Ghosh, (2021), Talent management is defined as a strategic procedure that
is applied by an organization for getting right talent onboard which further help in gaining higher
growth and success at marketplace. The process of talent management includes identifying talent
gaps, developing required skills, motivating and retaining staff members, training for expertise
and many more. It is important for an organization to focus on attracting and acquiring talented
staff members as it assist in executing activities effectively, maintain performance, attain
competitive advantage and so on (Talent Management, 2021.) There are various benefits gained
by an organization due to effective talent management that is employee satisfaction and
retention, increase in employee performance, decline in employee absenteeism rate, achievement
of competitive edge, increase in performance, development of positive working culture, increase
in skills of staff members, effective execution of activities, enhancement of brand image and so
on. All this help an organization not to retain its employees but also to gain higher growth and
success at marketplace. It is determined that talent management also includes effective strategic
planning career paths which is important for an employee to gain both personal and professional
growth.
Through the analysis, the summary was that talent management is an effective process that
includes attracting as well as retaining talented and high quality staff members which leads to
improve in performance and profitability of an organization.
Challenges faced by organization in the course of required culture change
The aim of the article is to provide understanding about the challenges as well as barriers faced
by an organization in culture change. In addition to this, it also consist of information about how
an organization can overcome with the challenges.
The article gave a background about barriers and challenges to change culture faced by an
organization. Along with this, it includes the importance of adopting changing culture for an
organization in order to survive and sustain at marketplace.

As per the view point of Quain (2019), it is analyzed that it is important for an organization to
deal or tackle the challenges effectively that is faced during the course of change culture. One of
the major challenge that is faced by company is lack of proper planning as to adopt changes it is
required for an organization to do effective planning and the implement it in an effective manner.
In addition to this, other challenge is low employee morale because of which they did nit take
interest in execution of activities as per the changing culture. It is significant for company to
focus on motivating and encouraging employees as it help in making them to full potential and
zeal to adopt change (Challenges associated to managing changing culture, 2019). There are
also other barriers faced due to culture change that is non-clarity of purpose and objective related
to change, resistance of change by employees, lack of reinforcement etc. All this barrier impact
negatively on the overall performance and productivity of organization. It is significant for
company to undertake all this challenges and adopt strategies for it as it help in shaping the
culture and adopting the changing culture in an appropriate manner.
Through the analysis, the summary was that there are various challenges faced by respective
organization during the course of changing culture. All this impact negatively on the overall
performance and also decline the productivity of employees which sometime leads to non-
acceptance of change and failure at marketplace.
Role of talent management to use it for effective culture change in TESCO
The aim of the article is to bridge talent management as well as culture change as it is analyzed
that talent management plays an important role within an organization deal with the changing
culture in an effective manner. Along with this, it also provide information regarding importance
and role of talent management.
The article gave a background regarding advice of talent management in changing culture. In
addition to this, it also states that with the help of effective management of talent an organization
is able to deal as well as cope with culture issue.
According to Tim,(2018), it is determined that talent management is an effective approach that
help in motivating staff members to adopt change and perform in flexible working environment.
Along with this, it is analyzed that talent management help company to trained its employees and
raise their competencies that further leads to adoption of change take place in organization. One
of the important roles of talent management is ensuring cultural capability in a company. It is the
responsibility of talented leaders to provide all the necessary information related to change to its

staff members as it assist in clarifying the purpose and objectives due to which there is no issue
and delays take place. Moreover, it is analyze that with the assistance of talent managers,
company is able to provide training to staff members so culture can integrate. Furthermore, talent
management focuses on maintaining positive working culture and relationship between all the

determined that develop effective relationships with new employees will decline the impact
relate with big change. It is stated that development is also an important action which is played
by talent management and is also lead company to adopt changes and work effectively as well.
