Introduction
Talent management is a continuous process that is related with attracting and
unthreatening of employees so that their overall performance level can be maximised. In
organisations this technique is used for the purpose of maximising the present skill base of
employees to achieve the laid mission and vision statements with higher productivity. In present
report marks and Spencer is the select organisation that is well known retail brand across UK
(Yanbin, Latukha and Selivanovskikh, 2020). The project will include aims and objectives,
Gantt chart, research methods that briefly discussed. Further there will be recommendation and
reflection based on the whole analysis of the report.
Aim and objectives:
Aim: “To analyse various talent management strategies that are used by organisations to
attract and retain employees.” A study on Marks and Spencer.
Objectives:
1) To understand the concept of talent-management in organisations.
2) To evaluate the talent management practises used for attracting and retaining employees
in Marks and Spencer.
Questions:
1) What is the basic concept of talent-management in organisations?
2) What are various talent management practises used for attracting and retaining employees
in Marks and Spencer?
Project management plan
Project management plan is the document that involves various factors such as cost, scope time,
quality . All such aspects are mentioned below:
Scope: Implementation of talent-management strategy can help a organisation in
achievement of a talented workforce. The scope of present research is wide as it is going to assist
in accomplishment of higher success in organisation.
Cost: It is necessary to consider the budget that is approximate a amount of $8000 that
will be incurred in the course of this research work.

Time: There will be requirement of time period of approx 20 weeks by the researcher to
complete the study.
Quality: It is related to enhancing the reliability and effectiveness of the information that
will be included in the present research work.
Communication: There is use of verbal and written communication methods to
communicate with all the outcomes that are arsing in the course of present research work
(Taylor, 2018). All the outcomes will be timely communicated to the team members and
interested stakeholders as the research is completed.
Resources: It includes the basic resources that are compulsory required by the researcher
for the purpose of conducting the study. In present report there is need of certain specific
resources that includes finance, human resources, technological resources that are necessary to
complete the research.
Risk: There are certain risks that includes lack of resources, delay in completion of work
that may affect the research work (Meng and Berger, 2018). It is important for researcher to
have prior plans to deal with such uncertainties and future risks.
Work break down structure:
It is defined as the project management tool that is used for dividing the whole work in
smaller parts so that there can be proper management of the all activities in context of research
(Pandita, 2021).

Gantt chart:
It is the chart that is used for presenting the overall project schedule with horizontal and
vertical axis. Gantt chart is adopted for development of relationships among various activities to
analyse its progress.

Research methodology
Qualitative research method: It is regarded as a method where data is collected that
includes theoretical information. It involves non numerical form of concepts and theories.
Quantitative research method: The data that is collected in numerical basis and it includes
figures, facts, this helps researcher in having a authentic base of information to reach towards
reliable conclusions (Mupepi, 2017).
Primary method: It is the method in which there is first hand information, in present
research work there is use of questionnaire as a method to collect various view points of
respondents that is the employees who are working in marks and Spencer (Deters, 2017).
Secondary method: In this method there is collection of secondary sources of information.
The information is collected from journals, books, magazines, online available articles, it assist
researcher in having a large base of information to draw relevant conclusions.
Sampling: In this method there is a sample size from the whole population (Whysall,
Owtram and Brittain, 2019). In present report there is a sample size of 30 respondents who are
selected for the purpose of collecting information through questionnaire.

systematic identification, attraction and development of employees in the organisation (Cascio
and Aguinis, 2018). It is associate with the process of retention and deployment of talented
workforce for longer time period in organisations.

Mohammed Mutin (2019), In context of M&S there are some of the techniques such as attracting
of top talent by identification of the sources that can provide a pool of talented workforce. There
