INTRODUCTION Teaching can be defined as the process with the help of which the one individual instructs, guides and teaches the another individual. In other words, it can also be said that teaching is the contact in between two or more individuals as the one is mature personality and the other one or ones are the immature. The following assignment is based on the self assessment of own skills and knowledge and the application of those skills and knowledge in the area of education. This assignment will make its focus on various aspects of a teacher who teaches the students pursuing their Bachelor's or Master's Degree(Golledge, 2017). So in this assignment, the teacher will share their own experiences during the period of providing the lectures to students about the basic concepts of Marketing. It will start with making discussion on the key aims of education in the area of teaching of the teacher along with analysing the philosophical issues relating to education and training. In addition to this, it will also consider about the aims and structure of key qualifications, learning programmes, approaches to planning and preparation and discussion about the approach of teacher to planning and preparation along with taking into account of key curriculum issues and the roles of new and emerging technologies. Further, the consideration will be made about the teaching and learning resources, use of resources of learning and teaching in Marketing, cooperation with others and reviewing the impact of cooperation with other teachers (Gray and MacBlain, 2015). Lastly, the discussion will be made about effectiveness of knowledge and skills, areas of improvement and strengths and the opportunities to an individual for the development of knowledge and skills in Marketing. TASK 1 1.1 Key aims of education and training in your own specialist area Teaching is considered as a one of the most flexible career path as it involve personal development along with the intellectual development of students. Current I am working as a lecturer in University and responsible for teaching the students of marketing hat are pursuing the course of BBA, MBA, M.Com, B.Com etc. Here my role is to deliver lectures to students regarding the basic concepts of marketing so that they become able to specialise in that area which support them in their career growth. In order to develop the marketing skills and knowledge among the students I have conducted a oral test for students in which they are being asked with some questions regarding their actions that they will take in particular situation. From 1
this test it has been found that majority of students are not aware about the kind of situation they may face while choosing marketing as their career path and manner in which they react to deal with such issues(Koedinger, Yudelson and Pavlik Jr, 2016). From this scenario it has been analysed that students are required more eduction and training in this regard. In order to overcome this shortcoming of students following aims have been fixed by me: To develop the better communicational skills among students so that they become to interact with customers in effective manner and be able to enhance their influencing skills so that they can accomplish their goals properly. This in turn support them in improving their marketer skills which further contribute toward the selection of better career pathway. To enhance their critical thinking skills so that they would be able to take quick decision in particular situation as being a marketer they have to interact with large number of customers that are different in term of their need, demand and problems that need to tackle separately. 1.2 Philosophical issues relating to education and training in your own specialist area While providing education and training to students there are number of philosophical issues that get found in this duration which affect the learning of students(Kuzelka, Davis and Schockaert, 2016). Several issues that are found while providing educations to marketing students are explained below: Resource availability:-The lectures provided to students in universities are generally based on theoretical explanations of concepts as well as framework which doesn't contribute toward overall learning. Hence, there are lack of resources available through which practical can't be provided to students for developing sense of actions they must take in particular situation. Educational ideology and sociological issues:-Another major philosophical issue found while exerting education and training to marketing students is that majority of them are belongs to different cultural as well as social background(Pool and et. al., 2016). As a result of which all of them are not aware about the basic theories and concepts of marketing that make it more difficult for them to learn effectively. 2

For delivering this several approaches will be used that are explained below: Lectures:-By providing lectures the theoretical knowledge of students will be enhanced that help them in understanding philosophies and ways to implement it in real life. Presentation:-The content will be presented using power point presentation which help in clarifying the concept about particular topic more effectively. 6
Role play:-After providing thorough knowledge in lecture and presentations students will be provided with some situations on which they perform a drama for developing critical thinking skills. Debate and Group discussion:-A particular topic will be provided to students from their lectures in order to perform debate that help in determine several new side of particular concept and discussion will be performed over it(Zepke, 2016). Direct study and research:-After providing lectures and presentation students are ordered to perform research over it for improving their understanding. Micro teaching sessions:-Once all the activities get performed students queries will be resolved with the help of this session. TASK 3 3.1 Inclusiveness of own approach to the planning and preparation of a learning programme I am working as a lecturer in university and provide education as well as training to marketing students. For providing effective understanding to students, I have prepared a learning program of 6 months for marketing specialisation students of MBA. In this I have prepared many modules that will help in developing the knowledge of student which includes Introduction, Basicconceptsofmarketing,Theories,Conceptualframework&modelsofmarketing, Application in corporate world etc. For delivering this effectively I have go through several approaches in a procedural manner. First of all I prepared notes as well as presentation for students to provide them lectures about basic concepts of marketing and then I have ordered students to perform research over their study for discussion of issues they are facing with the help of activities like role play, group discussion and debate. There are number of issues that has been found through this investigation such as students are not clear about philosophies or marketing, confused among the implementation of module etc. In order to remove these issues I continuously correcting students over their discussion and also provided them a micro teaching session where all the problems that students are facing has been rectified and after this I have also found improvement in students they get good semester grades. 7
3.2 Evaluation of Own Approach to Planning and Preparation of Learning Programme Taking into Account the Curriculum Issues Based on the own approach of planning and preparation of learning programmes, the main consideration is taken about the students. The preparation is done not for me but for the students. The lectures are prepared for the students and in the way that they will get the best understanding about what they are taught in the lectures. There are many issues which are faced by the students in learning for the lessons they are given in the classes(Ziegler and et. al., 2016). Firstly, it is related to their interest and concentration. Not all students are equal some may concentrate whether the topic is boring or funny, but it is not possible for every student to get concentrated. So the lectures are prepared in an interesting way that will catch the attention of each and every student. Secondly, it is related to the concept clearance. Some students who are not much good in learning will say yes about the concept clearance but in actual they are not met with what they are told in the class. So cross questions are put up from those students. However, it is clear from their faces itself whether they got the point but in case they are not met than the discussion will be made again about the main point which seems difficult to them. The modern technology is also playing an important role in the growth and development of students knowledge. The introduction of SMART Classes, LMS and Web Based Technologies has also improved the way of teaching of teachers. As now these classes provide students with the wider area of knowledge and this helps them in getting an enhanced knowledge about the topic of their learning. This has also reduced the burden of teachers and it can also be said that has increased the burden of teachers. According to NAHID SHIRANI BIDABADI, AHMMADREZA NASR ISFAHANI, AMIR ROUHOLLAHI and ROYA KHALILI, 2016, it has been said that good teaching and calmness in the nature of teacher helps the students in creating good relation in between the students and the teachers. With the help of this relation, it will be better possible for the students to put their questions in front of the teacher. Sometimes students do not put their questions in front of the teacher because of fear as they will be punished. So these things should be avoided and teacher is the only one person who can create interest of their students in the topic on which he is giving them lecture. 8

TASK 4 Covered in PPT TASK 5 5.1 Arbitrating with others in a specialist area to develop own practice It is essential for a professional to constantly liaison with others present in the same premises in order to carry out growth and development of own practice. In this regard, teachers specialised in and teaching the subject of marketing within the respective university also maintain effective networking with other teachers, learning support specialists, mentors in order to constantly gain knowledge about the new laws and legislations surrounding the specific area of practice. Further, it also helps them in learning themselves by observing others while they are teaching students by making use of personalised teaching strategies and approaches. Further, by analysing their way of teaching practices and interacting with students to facilitate the process of learning, teacher specialised in the area of marketing can themselves make use of such methods to ensure that the learners seeking to gain knowledge of this field have comprehended the coursework material and unit readings(Dold, 2016). In this regard, I communicate with my colleagues and senior teaching staff by making use of a number of methods of communication. Such methods consist of written, non-verbal and verbal communication with the help of effective communication is set within the campus of respective university. Other than this, a number of media are also used to facilitate interaction with mentors and others operating within the same field of work. This helps me in enhancing my existing level of knowledge, skills and expertise in marketing. 5.2 Impact of liaison with other teachers and trainers on own practice The impact of liaison with other trainers and teachers should be constantly analysed and reviewed by teachers in order to ascertain of such kind of communication is rendering the desired results in terms of development of own practice of teaching. In this regard, a number of self reflective models are taken into use to review such impact. These consist ofGibbs, Schön, Atkins and Murphy models. Also, feedback is taken from an array of source such as peers, learners and managers. By carrying out such review, I have analysed that liaison assists me to enhance my skills and capabilities such that I can easily carry out teaching in the required manner. Further, I have gained knowledge on the basis of feedbacks that my seniors are content 9
with my way of teaching and they think that I have great potential to do wonders in the field of teaching. TASK 6 6.1 Effectiveness of own knowledge and skills Being a teacher of marketing within the respective university, I hold the responsibility for delivery of appropriate knowledge to learners(Crompton, Burke & Gregory, 2017). To facilitate this, I have to plan, deliver and assess the practice of inclusive learning and teaching. It is of prime importance to me to devise and develop effective plans which have the potential to fulfil theneedsandrequirementofindividuals.Whiledeliveringlecturesormakingstudents understand by making use of web based technologies, it is ensured by me at all times that I am clear, audible and comprehensible for students so that they can easily perceive what I am intending to convey to them. Other things which I believe to be of utmost importance is communication in the form of oral, verbal, written, non-verbal etc. I have evaluated that my body language while teaching is quite effective and instils a sense of friendliness as well as firmness at the same time so as to keep a balance between leniency and discipline. Other non verbal cues that are utilised by me are found to be tone of voice, voice modulations, hand movements, body postures and gestures, facial expressions etc. By making use of all of these, I ensure the timely resolution of student queries and hesitations in a proper manner. A learning plan is developed by me in order to inform students regarding the activities and topics of marketing that would be covered in the session. Such plans help me in equipping the students with the right knowledge within appropriate frame of time so as to fulfil their needs and demands effectively. By making use of inclusive learning, I ensure that there is no stereotyping within the campus. All the other things were ascertained to be positive about the sessions except one that planning about the session must be done as per the level of learners. 6.2 Own strengths and areas for improvement in relation to practice I have analysed that my strengths are communication skills, persuasion, tactic and logical abilities. This has been ascertained by me on the basis of own evaluation and feedback gained from peers, learners and seniors. However,I am required to make various improvements in regards to planning process. This is necessary because the level of every learner is not equal and further some individuals also have learning difficulties and disabilities. I am required to 10
incorporate certain kinds of improvements in it. To facilitate this, I have decided to make sure that all necessary elements such as level of learners, their corresponding ages etc. before making use of a teaching approach or strategy. 6.3 Opportunities to improve and update own knowledge and skills Toupdatemyplanningskillsregardingtheadoptionofteachingstrategiesand approaches, I will take supervision from my seniors who are specialist in the same field of work (marketing). In this regard, I will further make use of mentoring to develop my skills and abilities to carry out the process of teaching in an effective manner. This will provide assistance to me in ensuring that learners are able to comprehend what I am teaching and has the capability to elevate their current level of knowledge. With the enhanced skill set and planning practice, I will be able to impart the lessons in the desirable manner. CONCLUSION The above discussion concludes that it is highly crucial for professionals operating in the teaching field to take into consideration the needs and requirements of learners in order to effectively communicate information during session. In addition to this, it is also essential to create a lesson plan and scheme of work by keeping in mind different assessment methodologies such as formative, summative and diagnostic assessments in order to identify, develop and evaluate teaching and learning plans that cater to different preferences of the learners and ensure an excellent experience forthe students inside as well as outside the classroom. Liaison has a great importance in the lives of teachers as it provides them with opportunities to inflate their knowledge and skill set. Further, it has been analysed that reflective models are used to review the impact of liaison with others working in same field. 11
