INTRODUCTION
The hospitality industry carry out different functions that can be categorised according to
different fields. Organisations in this sector mostly delivers services like lodging, event planning,
theme parks, transportation, cruise line. In United Kingdom, this subsection mostly aid in
economical growth (Janta, 2011). On the other hand, in business world contemporary means
different occurring taking place while delivering services to customers or at the time of
expansion of organisation in targeted areas. Firm which has been taken under in this assignment
i.e. Four Seasons Hotel which is located in Park Lane, London. Report is going to include
different scale, scope and diversities of industries in hospitality section. Apart from this,
assignment will also show few roles and responsibilities that front section staff of hospitality is
carrying.

In modern world, it has been analysed that hospitality sector majorly putting positive
impact on economical conditions of United Kingdom. Firms under this hospitality sector
carrying strong sustainability rather than firms of a different sections. Some of hospitality
industries are restaurants, pubs, lodging, entertainment, caters, gaming, event management and
many more. It has been examined that restaurants, pubs and hotels does comes under food sector,
apart from this, entertainment, lodging, event management and caters are a part of service
providers. All these can be owned by sole proprietors or partners. This section can be considered
as fourth largest subsection which in influencing economical conditions of United Kingdom
positively. Hospitality industries consists share of around 10% into the GDP of UK. On the other
hand, value which this sector generated in last year was £143 billion. Apart from this, it has also
been located that hospitality sector has gives employment to 3 million citizens approximately in
every single year. Scale of this industry is being defined as almost 11,000 hotels are carrying
their presence and serving to visitors with quality services.
Along with this, scope is something which mostly being entertained by companies
whether it is of hospitality, IT or any other sector. GDP endeavour, turnovers, employment and
job opportunities are some of scope that can be considered as the some major scopes of
Hospitality sector. Primarily, it can be understood as through taking an example of tourism

industry where firms and government mostly works in order to deliver appropriate convenience
to visitors, tourists and local people. It has also been examined that government is also
supporting this sector just because they attract people towards them which directly aid them in
increasing growth rate of this country.
Diversity means differences, and in hospitality sector it has been analysed that hotels and
restaurants are delivering distinctive products and services in order to keep up the sustainability
(CG Davidson, McPhail and Barry, 2011). Appropriate accommodation with all required
products if a visitor is getting at a place then it is may be possible that firm may develop a long
term relation with the tourists. Through this, profitability and productivity can be enhanced in a
befitting manner. In this context, some of example of different industries are given below:
Hotels: They deliver services like accommodation for visitors, conference halls for
business people and many more.
Restaurants: Fast food services are being provided by restaurants.

industries to stay effective, limber, advanced and should take initiatives so that benefits can be
gained like competitive advantages, strong sustainability, high market share and many more

initiatives. Here, Four Seasons can be taken as an example of 5 Star hotel this is majorly
different from catering service i.e. PenniBlack Catering Services which is following Matrix
organisational function because information is majorly needs to be sent from one person to
another as per needs. Apart from this, Alton Towers, which is located in Leeds and is a theme
park is following functional organisational structure because it is at small level. All of these are

department of company can easily be done in a befitting way (Kim and Ritchie, 2014). Customer
service department of a company should be filled with highly talented employees which directly
aid them in understanding needs and requirements of consumers. Handling all the queries and
solving them in specific time of period should be major aim of managers of human resource
department of Four Seasons Hotel. Through this, enlisting of correct member according to needs
of vacant seats can be done in an appropriate way.
