This report deals with an examination of the current job market in Australia. The report
further examines volunteering jobs, the current and future recruitment trends and the
available tools of finding employment. In the field of job, Australia has offered almost ten
sectors and many of them has reached the top by introducing various sections within the
industries. These career trends have both chances of increment and decrement in job market.
Health and welfare Service plays a crucial role in job openings. The report will give a broad
focus on this industry by discussing job opportunities, work profiles of the employers,
degrees and requirements, average incomes, options for switching to other sectors and all the
trends that make Health system in Australia grow wider. Surf Life Saving Australia is the
world’s largest volunteer community in the field of coastal water safety and the prevention of
drowning and rescue. This organization helps the young people learn the jobs of a
professional lifesaver and that of a paramedic. The report will conclude by showing the path

knowledge as well as experience while working for the organization. In the report that

analyzed to identify the changes in the domain of employment.

The concept of job market comes from the relationship that grows between
employers and employees who are in seek of job. Job market is based on the economical
structure of a country as well on the demand of labors. A well-developed country with more
opportunities is an idol for the job seekers. The number of private companies is growing up
worldwide and in near future there remain good chances for employment. World is
developing and more doors are opening for the fresher to step into the job market. There are

career. Health care and social welfare include subjects like hospitals, mental health,
homelessness, child protection and this sectors offers a huge opportunity in job field as it is
built over 3 decades and new staffs are always in demand ( ("Home", 2017). Professional and
technical services are always preferable for the job seekers. This field gives opportunity to
flourish mainly in the computer system section. The Australian Government has already
forecasted the jobs for 2019 (Hajkowicz et al, 2016).This section provides services like audit,
tax, budget preparation, information of accounting systems. The third field to prosper in
career is Education and Training. It is growing rapidly and chances of employment are huge
here. It includes teachers, lecturers and tutors. Literacy is the prime focus for any country and
this is increasing the demand of employers, ready to go for teaching jobs. These three sectors
are mostly accepted by the seekers. In the market of increasing, few sectors are facing
problems of decreasing (van Nooten et. al., 2017).The other fields like Manufacturing,
Mining and Agriculture, forestry and fishing comes thereafter. The last five sectors from the
above list remain backward and are gradually losing its value in employment service (Hotline

Education and Learning sector gives best opportunities to the job searchers. Early
childcare, school education, higher education and vocational education come under this
section. All these stages need the best employees to provide their best performances. Students
come to Australia for studies and jobs every year (Gomes, 2015). In the current age of
globalization, any new trend in the work field is helpful. E learning, tele-education, and
multi-channel delivery system all such trends are there to attract employers from whole
world. Country needs education in all levels and the growing numbers of schools and
colleges can quench the thirst of many job seekers. Australians get the best chances through
vocational training and this helps them to select suitable career in Education and Learning
department.

Career matters the most for youth. In Australia, Health and Welfare Service plays a

the world. Government and private hospitals operate the healthcare system. Pharmacy,

included to this industry. These profiles are related to the health of common people. The
students with a good medical background are applicable for such jobs. The course of work is
divided as per the posts. Consulting with customers regarding health and medicines
(Pharmacist), taking good care of patients (Nurse), analyzing the disease and provide the
necessary medicines to the patients (surgeon), explaining the necessity of healthy life and
giving tips (dietician), handling the technical problems in management sections(technician)
all these responsibilities need to fulfill. A minimum qualification of Bachelor degree is
needed to start a career here and some additional professional courses like MBA, B.PHARM,
Diploma in Nutrition and health are essential in cases like Technician, Pharmacy and
Dietician.
The average salary for female graduates is $50,000 and for male $55,000 ("Australian
Bureau of Statistics, Australian Government", 2017). It may differ in various sectors. A
registered nurse in Australia is paid almost $31.39/hr. It can be $31 for a pharmacist.
Employees with experiences and better qualification are paid better and for this reason, a
surgeon receives almost $154. Healthcare department offers opportunities for other sectors
also. The managers, handling the account section, can switch to other management

more in fitness field as the world is running after it. The structure, process and outcome give

employees from healthcare sector donates a great part here .One of the best healthcare
industries of Australia is Ramsay Health Care in Melbourne that provides the best treatment.
Ramsay is offering many opportunities in job field. One can find the topmost doctors and
trained nurses here. A global hospital has branches in France, Indonesia and Malaysia besides
Melbourne. The best relationship between employee and employers is maintained here and
the result is shown in the huge success. Australia may have many fields offering good careers
for the fresher but the Healthcare department stands first among them. People are conscious
of their health and Australia has given its best in this sector.

Surf Life Saving Australia, Australia’s top authority in coastal water safety,
prevention of drowning and rescue, is the world’s largest volunteer community of the type.
This community survives through donations, corporate sponsorship, fundraisings and grants
from the government. Founded in 1907, surf lifesavers attached to this community have
rescued more than 630000 people till date ("About Us - Surf Life Saving Australia", 2017).
The prospective job that may be applied to after the completion of the volunteering service
tenure is that of lifeguards. There are a number of activities involved with the volunteering in
the fields of surf life saving. The senior surf lifesavers are entitled with the patrolling of the
beaches during the summers that stretch from mid-September to the late of April especially
during the weekends and the public holidays. These lifesavers also have to train the kids
publicly on the beach safety issues. They also have to train the young Surf lifesavers on the

dangers of rocks and animals like the blue-ringed octopuses involved in the surfing activities.
Apart from these, there are several competitions, winter swimming events or surf-carnivals

cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR and the basic first-aid. The prospect of serving as a
patrol personnel on the beaches combined with the attraction of the surf-carnivals and sports

and jellyfishes. The lifeguards are held responsible for the designation of activities to certain
groups like children and seniors and maintenance of sport equipments at the pool and the
pool itself. As a paramedic, they are expected to provide first aid and cardiopulmonary
resuscitation or CPR to the concerned patient.
Surf Life Saving Australia has a great amount of contribution directed towards the
Australian society. The organization is known to offer a safe beach environment. A sense of
acceptance and belonging and the development of life skills and core values of citizenship is

There are a number of competitors in the current Australian recruitment market in the
present time. The top five among them are SEEK, Jobsdb, Gumtree, Australian JobSearch

According to Forbes.com (2017), companies will be following trends such as its focus on
the relationship between company and its customers to delight them, afterwards gaining
loyalty and generate revenue. These trends will be for betterment of the company as well as
for the employees. However, the trends are in favor of the employees, as companies will
focus to reestablish their relationship with their own employees. Employees nowadays want
to get instant feedback from their employers instead of waiting for an entire year for
appraisals. Especially younger generation wanted to know their strengths and weakness to
improve as soon as possible. Trends shows change in this area and continuous reviews will
replace it (Hotline & Hotline, 2017). As people are nowadays moving to freelancing and part
time jobs rather than fulltime jobs with less exposure, companies are in favor of such part
time and according to trends, they will increase vacancies for such freelancers as they can
work side by side with other fulltime workers.

and many more. Analytical and problem solving skills are another factor that the recruiter
focuses before hiring employees.
The recruitment option chosen to get through job would have been the one where one can
get the chance to research, review and evaluate himself to understand how these paid or
unpaid jobs relates with economy and society. As working with an unpaid organization leads
people to learn the work profile properly without any stress. After gaining some experience
and reference from renowned people, moving to such multinational company would be
beneficial. Handling the stress and work pressure will be easier because of the experience
from the unpaid organization.
Recommendation:

like the fields of healthcare, technical services, education and training are seen to be on the
rise. The health care field is the most promising sector for jobseekers. The maximum
numbers of jobseekers apply for the field of nursing, a sub-field in the broader field of health
care. This section is offering good salary and high opportunities to think big in future. Health
Care has many sub sections, which is the most attractive part. It can be said from the above
sections that in next few years this field is going to provide more options in the global job
market.
