INTRODUCTION
Hospitality is defined as the connection among a guest & host in order to deliver the
quality services which is helpful to fulfil the desires of consumers. Hospitality industry is
responsible to provide effective services in order to satisfy the demand of people. In this report
Carnival Corporation & PLC has been selected which is a British- American cruise operator. To
better understand this concept, there are following topics are covered such as: trial balance and
ledgers, recommendations and key performance indicators for restaurants, human resource life
cycle for talent management, performance management plan for negative behaviour and staffs
retention and legal and ethical considerations. Apart from this, it also discuss about interactions
of distinct functional roles and to analyse communication, coordination & monitoring methods in

KPI: Key performance indicators are those which provide help to analyse the
performance the workers so that company can know how they are performing and contributing to
the growth of organisation. As an instance, Carnival Corporation PLC is from United Kingdom
and emphasis to maximize consumers by providing quality products (Pirani and Arafat, 2014).
On the basis of revenue, cost & sales the performance of corporation can be analysed. To
enhanced the performance, manager can motivates the workers by providing rewards so that they
put maximum efforts to accomplish the task as per the requirement. It is require to monitor the
activities of employees so that they can perform according to the requirement of organisation and

contribute maximum in the growth of company. In KPI there are two performance indicators
such as:
Principle for monitoring and measuring financial performance
Monitoring: Its a continuous process of detail collecting & analysis of an information
about the programme and comparing actual against the planned which results into order to judge
how well intervention has been implemented. It uses data generated by the programme itself
along with making it compared to the others. Its one of the necessary KPI factor to measures an
actual capacities of the Carnival Corporation PLC to develops its financial capabilities or the
ability on the higher basis. An existence of the monitoring system is crucially essential for the
evaluation of the KPI.
Evaluation: Its a process that systematically and objectively assess all the elements of the
programme to determine its overall worth or significance. The major objectives of an evaluation
stage is to provide all kind of necessary information to decision maker to act effectively. More,
there are two types of evaluation such as performance & impact evaluation. On on side,
performance evaluation deals with overall performance of the Carnival Corporation PLC and is
helpful to determine actual performances. Its necessary to develops KPI to measures activities or
effectively.
Quantitative: With the help of this indicator company can measure the performance of
its workers in numbers. To analyse the performance of employees quantitative variables can be
use. This method is useful to know that how many number of employees are able to perform
better so that needs of consumers can be satisfy. To enhance the performance of employees
organisation can conduct the training programme so that their skills, knowledge and abilities can
be develop. It is important for the management of Carnival Corporation & PLC that it monitor
the activities of workers so that organisation can know how the employees are performing and on
the basis of it rating can be given which starts from one and end to five. Those staffs are able to
work as per the necessity of corporation than they are awarded by the management for their
better work (Nayak and Taylor, 2018).
Qualitative: In this method company analyse the performance of its employees on the
basis of its work that they are doing quality work as per the expectations. As management of
Carnival Corporation & PLC is emphasis to bring out best from its workers. So that they can
satisfy the needs of consumers by providing quality products and services. It is important for the

management of company to evaluate the performance and also guide them so that they put
maximum efforts to achieve the targets and goals of company. If a staff does not able to perform

Recommendations: For the organisation it is important that to measure the performance
of its workers so that it can know who is performing well and those who are not doing well than
management is responsible to conduct the training secession. So that skills can be develop and to
motivates the employees company have to give monetary and non monetary benefits so that
staffs feel motivated and perform well (Schwager and Kaltenegger, 2016).

Employees motivation to attain goals: It is important for an organisation to encourage
its employees so that they can perform better to accomplish the objectives of company. As HR
manager of Carnival Corporation & PLC can motivates their workers so that they put maximum
efforts to perform as per the specific need of organisation (Legrand and Sloan, 2013).
Retain top talent: To retain the top talent is important for an organisation so that they
contribute in the growth of company. As management of Carnival Corporation & PLC can
provide incentives and promotional opportunities in order to retain talented and skilful
employees which provide help the company to achieve its targets.
Increase employees performance: To increase the performance the workers HR life
cycle is important. By following this, Carnival Corporation & PLC can provide training to its
employees so that they can perform as per the need of specific of company.

Performance management plan is helpful to make the strategies and plan to manage and

performance of employees so that they put maximum efforts to achieve the goals of company. As
there are different types of conflicts which can arises in the organisation and they are related to

corporation. So it is the responsibility of management to develop an effective management plan

Performance management plan helps an organisation to complete their work by motivating

efficiency therefore it is important for them to adopt essential changes for completing their roles
with more productivity.

In the hospitality industry there are different laws which are required to be follow such
as:
Employment act, 2002: This specific act suggest that management of company can not
make differentiation on the basis of employment opportunities. It is the responsibility of Carnival
Corporation & PLC that it have follow the employment act in order to protect the interest of
consumers. It includes maternal, pay and adoption leaves. It also enhance the goodwill of

company that it is following the laws. Example- With employment act carnival corporation
provides rights to its employee's to ensure their stability for longer period.
Equality act, 2010: This act states that it is the duty of company to provide same
opportunities to the workers so that they feel positive and comfortable. As HR manager of
Carnival Corporation is responsible that there should be no discrimination on the basis of gender
and equal salary have to pay to male and female workers. As a result workers will satisfy with
the management of company and put their maximum efforts to achieve the goals of company.
Like large number of workforce is engage in organisation to complete their work within
minimum time period as they operate operations at global level. To overcome from this they

result business will grow and get success. Contract law is require to be follow by Carnival
Corporation so that operations can be perform effectively as organisation makes the contract
with suppliers who provide raw material which is helpful to prepare food. As per the contract it
pay certain amount of money to the supplier. As a result supplier will continue supply its
products to the hotel and its business does not get affected.
The British Law, 2009 says that age, name, experience and background have to be
appropriate so that effective decisions can be taken for the growth of corporation. If laws does
not properly followed than fines and penalties will be impose by the government authorities. If
Carnival Corporation will comply the regulations and compliances than work can be does
effectively as its regular business operations does not get affected and reputation can also

Organisational Structure of Hospital:
In the hospitality industry there are various types of business have performed which
involves: theme parks, bars, hotels, restaurants and tourist agencies. All types of businesses have
its own structure and departments which have different functions and they are interlinked to each
other. In the theme park, manager takes the decisions related to the business. Where as in
Carnival Corporation the management takes the important decisions related to all interlinked
departments and functions and pass the instructions to the manager so that work can be
effectively and organisation can achieve its targets. In type type of organisation vertical structure
has been followed in which chain of command is followed from top to bottom (Chen and Law,

workers and if a person does not performing as per the requirement than one to one meeting has
conducted so that it can motivate and guide the employees so that they can perform by fulfilling
the objectives of company.

For an organisation, it is required to use differnt ways of communication tools so that
relevant information and message can be communicate to the staffs. Effective communication is
helpful to maximize coordination and bring efficiency which is beneficial to achieve to targts of
organisation. To achieve the golas it is important to monoitor the performace of employees so
that corporsartion can provide tarining if the person is not performing as per the requirement. So
to fulfil the targets it is essential to perform as per the necessity (Barron and Fyall, 2014).

ledger is helpful. The HR life cycle is helpful to improve the performance of employees. There

other so that goals can be accomplish. Regulations and laws are needed to be follow by the
corporation so that business can survive effectively and its operations does not get hamper. To
communicate the information is required by using different tools so that all employees can
perform as per the need of company.
