Important and relevant of the project
This study important as it help in uncovering the factors about the manner kin which
Blogging and Vlogging influence the choice of customers and how these can be used for the
growth and development of tourism industry (Costa, 2019). This project is also important for
researcher by improving its different types of research skills including literature review, data
collection, data analysis, time management and many other.

To examine the concept of Blogger and Vlogger
To ascertain the changes Blogger and Vlogger brings in Tourism industry of TUI.
To determine several challenges that TUI is facing due to Blogger and Vlogger within
Tourism industry.
Summary of major themes:-
The tourism industry is highly get affected by the increasing trend of Blogging and
Vlogging which is also know as influencing marketing where some experienced persons try to
influence other individual for visiting particular place and perform some set of things. Target
market are highly influence by such sort of practices which have a great impact over tourism
industry as target customers take the preference of influencers instead of a particular tour
operator (da Fonseca and Gustavo, 2020).

descriptive research design which help in performing investigation in more meaningful manner
(Dedeoğlu and et al., 2020).
Purpose of research project
Main purpose of this project is to determine the impact that travel blogger and Vloggers
bring on Tourism industry. It is main purpose of doing this research in systematic and effective
manner. Along with this, there are also some main purpose of doing this project systematically
and effectively. Another purpose of performing this project is to ascertain several types of
changes that Blogger and Vlogger brings within Tourism industry. With the assist of this project
researcher can easily develop basis understanding regarding the concept of Vlogger and Blogger
and its effective use in tourism industry (Duignan, Down and O'Brien, 2020). In order to identify
major challenges or issues that Thomas Cook is facing due to Blogger and Vlogger within
Tourism industry, is also a main purpose for doing this project effectively. Along with this,
Blogger and Vlogger are main part of the research that have direct influence over tourism
industry. This has direct impact on tourism sector by improving their marketimage. A blogger is
someone who writes, or blogs content for a blogging & blog is the act of writing an accurate post
for a blog. There are some important questions that support researcher in achievement of project
objectives within a lesser time period.
The project hopes to demonstrate the impact of travel bloggers as well as bloggers on the
tourism industry. The concept of both travel bloggers as well as vloggers is new in the industry
and have impacted tourism significantly (Costa, 2019). Their primary purpose is to influence
people who like to travel or general public who is interested in travelling by using various
platforms of social media. They use Facebook, Youtube, Instagram to do so because these are the
platforms that are used by people, primarily the youth these days. This can be referred to a kind
of social influence. A number of travellers get new creative ideas about which place to visit,
hotels, flights, restaurants, cafes etc.
Anyone today can blog his/her travel experience and post the same on various social platforms.
Numerous travel agencies as well as hotel companies have started working with travel bloggers.
This is because they help in increasing their influence over people. Working with influencers and
travel bloggers is completely dependent upon a company's marketing goals. TUI works with
famous travel bloggers as well as vloggers who travel around the world. This is done by creating

a mutual partnership between the company as well as the blogger. It also involves various steps
like identifying the travel bloggers a company would like to work with. The next step involves
the various platforms as well as channels they use to engage followers.
In simple words, bloggers can be referred to as the journalists of the modern age.
Blogging has taken the tourism industry by storm because the followers or the audiences of any
travel blogger or vlogger exceeds to any other traditional form of media (Dedeoğlu and et al.,
2020). Bloggers and vloggers know the industry they operate in very well and thus create
relevant content to engage their followers. There are bloggers of every kind who create
specialised content for their respective audience.
Research questions:-
What is the main concept of Blogger and Vlogger ?
What are several changes that Blogger and Vlogger brings in Tourism industry of TUI? What are major challenges that TUI is facing due to Blogger and Vlogger within Tourism
industry?
SMART Objectives
Smart objectives introduces as an effective statement that explains what a person,
organisation or team to hoping to accomplish, SMART objectives includes measurable, specific,
realistic, achievable and timely (Elci and et al., 2017). There are some important parts of smart
objectives that support project manager or organisation in attainment of its objectives within
lesser time period.
To improve the knowledge of 20% employees about the concept of Blogger and Vlogger
within 2 months of time period
To improve profitability by 20% through involvement of Blogger and Vlogger services in
Tourism industry within 1 year of time period.
To determine the role of Blogger and Vlogger in reduction of 20% market share of
Thomas Cook within the time period of 1 year.
Planned and desired outcomes
Online content has outgrown in the last few years and has become a powerful tool in the travel as
well as hospitality industry. Travel bloggers and vloggers are professional video makers who
have a large following on different social media platforms. Blogs or vlogs that are created by
these bloggers are very specific to the industry they operate in. People can make use of these
Document Page
blogs to plan their trips and stay at various hotels. Travel bloggers and vloggers have a deep
understanding of the their competition in the market as a result of which they try making content
that is very specific the industry. Also, since they work independently and blog when they travel
or when they are free, their opinions about a place or an experience is unbiased (Duignan, Down
and O'Brien, 2020). Another impact that travel bloggers and vloggers have created on the
tourism industry is that the information that they provide is up-to-date which is a plus point as
otherwise when people look out for information about something related to a particular hotel or
an experience is either not relevant or has become out of date.
Most travel bloggers and vloggers like to engage with their followers on various social
media platforms which is beneficial for people planning to travel as they can ask questions to
which these bloggers can post answers. This is a known fact that nothing inspires a person to
travel more than an attractive photograph does. Reading a blog about a place that has colourful
images takes the reader directly to that place. The main challenge with a traditional guide is that
there is a lack of space which becomes boring for the reader when he/she reads it. Therefore,
social media platforms like Instagram and Trover that allow users to navigate through pictures
are great platforms to share pictures.
Travel blogs also provide recommendations about how a particular place is, about its
weather conditions, various tourist sites etc. Apart from all this, the major impact that travel
bloggers as well as vloggers have had on the tourism industry is that various tourism companies
get a chance to promote themselves and their services in the market and attract people who like
to travel or are considering to travel in the immediate future. People can anytime switch from
reading one travel blog to another (Elci and et al., 2017). Thus, the travel bloggers have to be
smart enough to create content that is relevant and keeps the followers engaged with only their
content.
By working with travel bloggers and vloggers, companies can reach out to a large
number of potential customers. It also provides the readers with fresh, innovative as well as
interesting content to read. By using hashtags wisely and intelligently, a company can generate
huge traffic of customers on its website. Also, the companies can turn people who only dream
about travelling to their customers. This can be done by identifying the bloggers whom people
follow as a lot of people turn to the web when they need information about something specific.

Bloggers have helped TUI in building a strong presence over the internet and increasing overall
sales. This further leads to an increase in the overall profitability of the company.
TUI is now able to interact with a large volume of customers as well as invite them to
interact with the brand. The major benefit of working with a travel blogger for a company is that
they create content that has an unlimited lifespan. TUI knows that a lot of people who land on its
website have no idea of where they want to travel, but they just do so because a travel blogger or
vlogger might have shared a link of the company's website (Javits, 2019). From not having any
kind of traffic on its website to at least having some traffic has proved out to be beneficial for the
company as now, more number of people plan their travel based on positive reviews, videos and
experiences that are shared by the vloggers and bloggers on different social media platforms.
Today, even big as well as small tourism brands have started working with travel
bloggers and vloggers in order to boost their credibility as well as presence across various social
media platforms like Instagram, Facebook etc. Lastly, it can be said that blogging as well as
vlogging are new concepts in the tourism industry but have impacted the tourism industry in a
significant manner and is here to stay for a very long time. So, companies should consider
working with such influencers and bloggers who have got a wide presence on social media as
well as internet on a whole to attract more customers and thus increase their profitability as well
as sales. This will help them improve their overall ranking in the tourism industry.
Explain research design
This is a part of research methodology that support researcher or project manager in
collecting of valid and reliable data about the impact of travel Bloggers and Vloggers on the
Tourism Industry (Flick, 2015). The current report is based on secondary source of data
collection. These sources are books, magazines, articles, publication research etc. These are
consider main and effective sources of secondary data collection that will be useful for
investigator to gather in-depth and detailed information regarding the current study. Therefore it
is more essential for researcher to use appropriate methods and techniques in order to done a
research work in accurate and systematic manner. Therefore, method or techniques must be
selected effectively. The research involves the different types of research methods including
philosophy, approach, data collection, research design, analysis. This section of the report
supports the investigator to conduct the investigation systematically. It supports to demonstrate
the certain research methods as well as approaches that have used for doing the study.

Qualitative and quantitative research
Qualitative research: This is known as the scientific method which is used for the
purpose of ascertaining the information which is present in non numerical form. The main
purpose of this information is to mean making (Gioia, Corley and Hamilton, 2013). This is also
considered as the research method which is used by the researcher in collection of the
information through usage of open ended questionnaire method along with doing controversial
communication. There are may other methods which will be used in respect to the collection of
information includes interview and face to face conversation. The data gathered through this
method is attained in the form of views.
Quantitative research: It is systematic method of gathering information in quantitative
nature. This is gathered with the aid of statistical, mathematical and computational techniques. It
is also known as gathering numerical data and generalizing it across groups of people or to
explain a particular phenomenon (Green, Camilli and Elmore, 2012). The one other purpose for
which this method is used includes quantify behaviors, persuasion, cognition, and other covariant
and make miscellaneous from a bigger universe. This will provides an opportunity in
understanding between dependent and independent variable of population. Through this relation
the impact will be easily analysed and also able to get the appropriate results. There are many
methods that will be useful in collection of quantitative data includes close ended questionnaire
etc. The method which is used in the current research is also quantitative. The main reason
behind the usage of this method is help to ascertain information in short period of time along
with determining the results which are too the point and accurate in nature (Kumar, 2019) .
The reason behind selecting the qualitative research methodology for this investigation is the
appropriateness of this method in analysing the behaviour and perspective of people. As the aim
of this research is to analyse the impact of travel bloggers and vloggers on tourism industry. It is
important to acquire author’s perspective on this argument and for gathering beliefs and thoughts
of various authors, the qualitative method is most reliable and viable (Mackenzie and et. al.,
2012).
Research design: It is an effective and useful framework of research method as well as
techniques that are use by researcher. There are different types of research design including
descriptive, experimental, exploratory and so on. All these are consider effective types of
research design because this will support investigator in identification of accurate problem about
Document Page
the topic. Within a research descriptive research design will be going to used by researcher. It
will enable the investigator to observe present data about travel Bloggers and Vloggers and its
impact on tourism industry (Mackey and Gass, 2015). It will support the project manager to
acquire acquirable data and describe it in more detail manner to concerned audience/readers.
Research Philosophy: It is defined an important part of research methodology. It is also
outlined as the effective nature of the acquired and utilized insights and enhance in the
knowledge. Along with this research philosophy is important and essential part of the research
that support researcher in gathering of primary or secondary data. For doing current project,
interpretivisim research philosophy will be used by investigator as it support investigator in
gathering and analysing of secondary information regarding the topic. Interpretivisim philosophy
will enable an investigator to take secondary information or data about impact that travel
blogger and Vloggers bring on Tourism industry in a comprehensible way. The investigator will
try to interpret extensive and complex information in a manner that will support
audience/readers in order to know the proposed study (McCusker and Gunaydin, 2015).
Research Approach: This introduces as a hypothetical framework that is need for every
research project as it can support in the development. Along with this, there are basically two
major approaches of research i.e. inductive approach and deductive approach. It is relevant to
state that deductive approach has been selected in this research because it focuses on a specific
instrument rather than focusing on multiple instruments. The research approach will suitable as it
will enable the researcher to acquire secondary information or data that already available. It will
support to consider actual data regarding the impact that travel blogger and Vloggers bring on
Tourism industry. This turn to support researcher to evaluate present premises as well as lead to
a valid conclusion of the project (Miller and et. al., 2012).
Data Collection: This introduces as a systematic process that support researcher in
collection of primary and secondary information regarding the topic. The project is based in the
gathered information and therefore it is more important section of the investigation. Additionally,
the gathered data must be relevant as well as accurate in form. There are mainly two sources of
data collection which are primary and secondary. Both are effective and useful method because it
support investigator in collecting of detailed and reliable information about the field of study.
Current project is based on secondary source of data collection which are magazines, books,
publication research, articles etc. All these are consider main sources that support investigator in
Document Page
gathering of secondary information about the current investigation (Quinlan and et. al., 2019)
(Riedl, Davis and Hevner, 2014).
Secondary data method will be applied within an investigation. The reason behind
selecting the secondary source of data collection is that the topic of the study, impact that travel
blogger and Vloggers bring on Tourism industry has lots of information and studies completed
by other investigators. So, this will give comparative examination as well as effective data to
precede the project. Data collection through secondary source will be relatively convenient to for
researcher to gather collect available data on blogger and Vloggers and the manner it impacts
tourism industry (Scotland, 2012).
Therefore above mentioned all these are consider main methods of research methodology
and support an investigator in gathering and collection of secondary information in systematic
manner. Along with this, secondary source of data collection are more useful and valuable for
researcher as it support them in collecting of detailed and in-depth information about the current
study. Books , magazines, articles, publication research etc. are effective and valuable sources
for researcher to use and collect valid and detailed data about the current study (Silverman,
2016).

Principle methods of the research
Travel and tourism is essential tourism and which is used to travel and find different
solution for the person to expand the business effectively. Tourism contributes towards complete
growth and development of a country: one, by bringing numerous economic value & benefits;
and, second, helping in build country's brand value, image & identity. There are different factors
which effect the tourism industry and this should be manager effectively so that the different
work should be manages effectively. There are different destination which is present in this
particular sector which also essential for the economic growth to the contributors. Here are some
research method which are used to manage the work effectively which are explained down below
in detail manner:
Desk research: As the nature of customer changes so the hospitality sector have focus on
achieving desire aims as provide effective service to the customer. There are different attributes
as well as the opinion which are used to attract the tourist as this is vital to have proper starting
point and ending point for the tourist. Market Research can also assist in identifying new markets
and in monitoring the performance of your tourism sector. The desk research is the another name
of the secondary research as it is not about collecting the data as the research carrying out desk
as to achieve desire aims and objective effectively. It is type of secondary study that helps an
investigator to collect detailed information regarding the current investigation. For this type of
study, researcher will require certain number of secondary sources which are books, articles,
magazines, publication study and many other (Tuohy and et. al., 2013). As these sources support
researcher to gather data from the published articles, journals and many other useful sources.
As desk research consists of user, goals and environment where the researcher use to
identifying the variables outcomes and provide useful result. In the context of travel and tourism
the investigator have to focus on the trends and study the material which help in increasing the
efficiency and bring out effectively outcomes. In this research, secondary data collection method
is used and the reason behind this choice is that secondary data collection method helps in
gathering the information and viewpoints of data of different authors regrading impact of travel
vloggers and bloggers on tourism industry. This method is also selected as it requires less time
and can be done over the desk (Walliman, 2017).
Document Page
Lab based research: This is consider as the hands on experience or the primary research
through which the researcher use different tools and techniques to analyse the market of hotel
and tourism effectively. As each and every tourist and marketing strategies is used so this is
essential for the researcher to use different strategies through which different tool such as
interview and questionnaire are prepared to identifying the respondent view point. After availing
all the information the proper implementation should be done as to accomplish desire aims and
objectives effectively. For the different travel agencies and hotel the research plays an crucial
role which leads to bring out useful result (Javits, 2019).
Beside this, the travel and tourism industry is consider as very versatile as this is vital for
the company to indulge in research and figure the possibility through which organisation can
attract the customer for the longer time period. Hence there are other method through which
enterprise can use lab based experiment by taking feedback and also conduct personal interview
to identify the keen aspect and problems and come up with effective result.
Hence this is identified from the above statement is that there must be proper lab test
should be conducted annually by the travel company as this reduce the competition and increase
the revenue for the firm.
Principle method: There are several principal research methods that were employed in all
researcher: focus groups, individual interviews, participant observation and many other. These
are consider principle method of research but current study is completed based on secondary
investigation and for collecting that type of data, magazines, articles, books, publication research
and many other are relevant and useful methods. This will support an investigator in completion
of full project within a given time period and in systematic manner. Therefore secondary
research is more useful and valuable for investigator in gathering of suitable and reliable data
about the current topic or study (Wiek and Lang, 2016).
What database are you using?
Database is defined as collection of information which is organized in systematic manner
so that it can be easily accessed, arranged and modified according to requirement. To collect
information about particular topic use database in which consist of aggregations of data records
as well as files, consisting of information in regard of sales transactions and interactions with
particular clients. To record these data base use different types of excel in which consist of SQL

server, oracle database, informix and may others. To collect information use different types of
sources such as:
Academic search complete: This site firstly published in the year of 2007 where research
about academic things. At this site consist of more than about 8500 full text periodicals.
Along with more than 7300 peer reviewed journals also add this site. Additionally, full
text complete offers and abstracts for more than 10100 journals and a total of more than
10600 unexclusive in which consist of proceedings, among others, monographs and many
others. At this site provided different types of academic knowledge which is related with
the different subjects such as, Chemistry, biology, civil engineering, geography, ethic and
other subjects. According to their interest people can search about their subject and
collect all relevant information (Jiménez-Castillo and Sánchez-Fernández, 2019)al
articles, conference proceedings, technical standards and other related materials which is
collect from computer science, electric engineering and allied fields. The full form of this
research that Institute Of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and other partners
publishers. At this site about 1700 conferences more than 6200 technical standards.
Along with also uploaded 4000 ebooks and over 425 online courses. Moreover, approx
20000 new documents also added by this site each month. If any person wants to explore
new things so through this site search different bibliography records as well as abstracts
for the contents due to admittance to full text documents which is required for
institutional subscription.
For the travelling blogger use site Academic research of because there are providing
specific information about this content. On the other side on IEEE explore find out about only
engendering material. The travelling blogger is not related with engendering material. Thus,
collect information about this topic use IEEE site in order to explore more information at big
level. Collect all the relative information at broad manner but about the Engineer and technical
things. At this site find out different journals, biobibliography, news papers and many others. So
with the helps of this site collect all relevant information means database which is required to
know about this topic in depth manner (Kavoura, Kefallonitis and Giovanis, 2019).
IEEE Explore: It is a research database in which discovery and analysis to all journ. On the
other side Academic research provide information about different topics and it helps to collect

general information which is utilise to collect databased at large manner. There are providing full
text articles which is useful for this blogger.
Importance of using secondary source of data collection
All the journals, books and websites are the secondary source of information,. These
includes lots of information that can be used be used in nay form in future for the purpose of
ascertaining effective information. Journals are the papers written by author after consideration
for he views of many other authors. The information included in this paper is much researched in
nature and able to depict the true information. The book is important of gaining information.
Book contains the information in depth. This required the deep analysis and this would be the
reason that focus is provided over its authenticity in analysis of accurate results. Websites are are
also important source of information which are either uploaded by others or the one who wants
to disseminate the information. The diversified nature of information is covered over this option
of information (Preston, 2016). This help to gain the information belongs the different aspects.
There are many advantages associated with the usage of secondary information method in
collection of data includes time saving, cost saving, help to ascertain results on time etc. It is one
of the good option in case of the person who want to research about the aspect in short of period
of time and cost effective in nature. The determinant that impact the value of research in past is
not able to grab the exact information according to the nature. Now, these issues is removed due
to the presence of large number of researchers and their ability to carry out research. This will
help us to ascertain the exact results in accordance to the nature of research topic. There are
many which are leaved purposely in process of the collecting information from the use of
secondary sources.
These are sources that does not have authentic sources are having doubt about the
reliability of data. The main reason behind this that there are large number of chances regarding
inappropriateness of that information. Also, such sources includes the information that is biased
in nature. There are many other aspects that differentiates the secondary research from the
primary one. Primary research is time consuming in nature where secondary is time efficient.
Primary includes lots of efforts and cost. Whereas, secondary includes the efforts toward
identification of the information in relation to the research topic (Rees, 2020). The primary
information attained in authentic and considered first hand hand. This is considered as best to
ascertain the results but this is not so because it is totally based over the sample which is selected
Document Page
randomly. So, the results attained are not belongs to the large number of people reside in society.
On the other hand, the secondary information used is gained by author in many time and
researching the aspects of other. So, it proves as mush better in less time period to gain best and
reliable information. In between the three, journal, book and website the which will be preferred
is authentic website. This will help to gain the actual information along with updated. Then after
books are deepest source that will be used as to gain large and varied information (Ulriksen,
2019).
