The research methods that I have chosen for
developing the research behind this business
development plan, has been the qualitative research
methods by secondary sources. This is because, the
application of the knowledge behind the framing of
the study behind the project was the research, which
would be based on the detailed analysis of both the
organization of Digi Telecommunications and the
industry as well. The process in a qualitative
secondary sourced data collection would be much
feasible to have a descriptive and logical narration
behind the collected data. The analysts who are
performing the research gets a much more
formulated source of data and at the same time an
in-depth analysis of the process is easier to get. S
The description of the utility behind this research
method can be provided as a discussion as below:
1) For a reader of the major project, I would like to
say that this process would not only make sure that
you understand the major aspects of the project, but
at the same time, the you would also gather extreme
and in-depth knowledge about the entire industry. I
do not believe that there would be any scope during
this study that only a restricted knowledge would be
shared to the readers.
2) I believe that the future employers would be
extremely benefitted with this research methods as
well. I understand how important it is to get a
proper analysis as per the industry standards and
thus this method would provide a wholesome idea
where the employers can compare the organization
and the industry to find out how the business has
been performing so far in comparison.

1) The primary evidences that the research project
has utilizes for feasibly using them as a source of
information to present in the big project is the
SWOT and the PESTLE analysis of both the
organization and the industry. I believe that as a
proper theoretical evidence, both these tools are
extremely effective while the research process is
taking place since the tools are the best and
effective business analysis tools that are available
for the overall analysis of Digi
Telecommunications. I understand that there is a
requirement of the overall analysis of the
organization for the research, but I have also seen
that the analysis would not be complete if the
industry under which the organization belongs to is
not at all analyzed. Once that is done, it would be
better to have an analysis of the comparative areas
of both the organization and the industry. I have
found that having a SWOT analysis would provide
the readers and the analyst with a base on finding
the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
of the industry and the organization. On the other
hand, it would also have the Political,
Environmental, Social, Technological, Legal and
Economic aspect of the business and the industry
with the set information required for the
development of the business plan.
2) As per the researches that I have performed, I
understood that the sources are extremely important
so that an overall idea about the entire business is
gathered with the collected information. The stretch
of both these formats for the analysis and collection
of data is important to help the business
development plan never miss out even a slightest
information that would not let having all the
perspectives set for the research about the Digi
Telecommunication business plan.

While conducting the research, my initial idea was
to develop a business plan. I previously had no idea
about how the business development plan needs to
be set out. I did not have the necessary details about
conducting a detailed research for the development
of the Major Project. Till now, I have gathered a
manifold perspective about the development of my

Major Project. I understood that I would have to
understand both the perspectives of a business
organization and the industry from which the
organization belongs. I understood that business
development plan is not about how the organization
has been performing throughout the years from the
time of its establishment but has to also consider the
different perspectives of its industry, and also the
competitor organizations. Finding out the different
perspectives of the other competing organizations in
the same industry helped me in understanding how
the company is performing in all the areas it is
expected to perform. With this, I understood how
Digi Telecommunications was performing in
comparison to the other similar organizations in the
industry and if it has been falling behind or ahead of
them. This also provided the wholesome idea
behind what to be considered before the business
development plan is etched out.

1) Undertaking the MBA project was my initial
dream and I have had several ideas behind my
career plan before I joined the MBA and even on
my initial days of joining the MBA plan. I
understood that I have to ensure my career planning
in the proper way before I could see myself
performing for any organization in the industry.
This was changed during the undertaking of the
MBA program. I understood that I have to
complete this graduation program for just not
building my career but for also an enhancement to
my career at business credibility. It provided me
with specific skills about the business with essential
toolkits, helping me understand and analyze
business situations effectively. I was able to make
decisions in the most appropriate way with these
effective skills, ready for applying my management
skills to the executive and managerial levels of
positions, including the business promotion skills.
2) This was extremely essential in my case for
conducting the research as it provided me with the

skills of essentially analyzing the perspectives of
Digi and associated organizations belonging from
the same industry.
3) The knowledge I acquired, helped me to gather
information about the organization and also the
other aspects that is required before making a
business developmental plan.

Previously, before I started my career in this
educational aspect of Masters in Business
Administration, I was not keen on understanding
about the decision-making process of any business.
I did not have an idea about how the decision-
making process in any organization takes place. I
even had no understanding of how an overall
analysis of the business was responsible for having
any plan for bringing about changes in the ongoing
process would occur. I had thought that it was a
unidimensional process where the business
executives and business heads would just look at
the profit and loss statements of the organization at
the financial year end. Little did I know, that it also
had to compare and contrast several aspects of the
organization, including the threats from the
competitors in the same industry.
I started to have a multi-dimensional idea of the
overall prospects about the organization and the
industry as well. I understood that, social, political
and economic aspects were simultaneously
important before any change could be brought
about or any different decision had to be made for
an organization. The occurrences of the different
aspects behind the proper business development
plan and the stages of analyses that goes on with
this particular area of research was unknown to me
before I undertook the research process.

and barriers which you were faced

While undertaking the decision, there were some
problems that I faced as well. Mostly, these
problems were in the form of the collection of data,
as the theoretical framework of the research was
already set. I would like to state what problems I
faced during the conduction of the research as
below:
1) During the undertaking of the research, I

understood that there are data that I would have to
collect about the organizations which are extremely
intricate. I was researching about the competitive
organizations for the Digi Telecommunications and
during this time, I got accustomed to the other
organizations through the search engines. During
the collection of data, many times I found that the
theoretical aspects were available but the practical
data was inaccessible to me. As a regular student, I
did not have access to these data sets. Furthermore,
I understood that the technological and practical
data that I have to collect were required to follow
and ethical conduct of data collection methods. The
data gathering was problematic due to this, but in
the end, it was a successful event.
2) The data collection and integration during the
major project of the business development plan was
extremely problematic as the data was huge in
number. To analyze all these and integrate them in
the single research was a tiring process.

The academic and management skills that I have
gathered from the Major Project of conducting a
research before having a business development plan
made me become an extremely alarmed business
management student who has a sound knowledge
about the academic idea and professional idea of a
business development plan. I understood that
before a development of the business plan has to be
made, an extensive research about the organization,
the industry from which the organization belongs
and the competing organizations in the same
industry must also be included.
It provided me with t he guidance of having the
purpose, mission and vision of the organization

jotted out, with the products or services of the
business and developing a successful business plan
on the basis of all the qualitative information. I
became good at analyzing a business with their
successive situation analysis, SWOT and PESTLE
analysis, goals, objectives, strategies and tactics
about the business. I have had the guidance about
all the analysis prospects to make a feasible plan
for a business development.
Objectives

far have the objectives of your major
project been achieved?

I was enrolling into the business management and
administration program with the sole achievement
goal of being a wholesome business executive with
all the required skills to become a well-informed
and strategic business personnel. With the progress
that I made with this particular Major Project about
having a set business development plan for the Digi
Telecommunications, I understood that a
wholesome research is required for the entire plan.
I developed several other skills as well as the
research skills before developing a business
development plan. I got to understand the
requirements of the Business Administrator and all
the skills that I require for being a business
development manager. I developed skills to analyze
a business from every aspect, even from the
perspectives of the customers and the business
personnel. I developed effective communication
skills, negotiation skills required for treating with
the vision and missions of the business, developed
strategic decision-making skills, computer research
skills, secondary qualitative data analysis skills and
even the skills required for business intelligence. I
had a clear idea about the plan for business
development and how each one of these skills are
necessary for a feasible and manifold research
conduction. The comparative analysis and effective
skills required for this major project helped me
become a wholesome business analyst.

developed the skills required for the establishment

frameworks for the business performance analysis
of Digi Telecommunications in Malaysia, its
competitive organizations and even the entire
industry in which these organizations belonged. My
future employer would understand the detailed
analysis skills that I have gathered to become an
effective business analyst in the perspective of this
research project.
