INTRODUCTION
The Crime is mainly the illegal activity that is being taken with the individual that can
affect the society and the personal individuality of a human. Criminology deals with all the
aspects and the studies relating to the issues that can be laid out in the criminal activities and
engagement (Felson, and Eckert, 2017). In UK they search out various laws and actions that are
being taken by the police in order to maintain the lawful area in the society and also to provide a
legal security to the individuals. This report will cover and analysis and statistics regarding to the
crimes that are being recorded by the police and a debate regarding to all the relatable issues for
the crime survey for England and Wales.
TASK 1
It is very essential to take the data of the criminals and crime so that the true
understanding can be taken relating to commission of crimes and offences in UK. There are two
methods in which the data can be collected which includes firstly the administrative data that
includes prosecution or the court record, police recorded crimes and the prison data while second
method is the sample survey method which includes the victimization survey, self- reporting,
corruption survey, etc. The former provides the information relating to the reported crimes, that
is, the offences that are being reported to the judicial authorities. Generally, there are two types
of crime which is reported and which are actual. The former is the one which is recorded by the
judicial authorities while the latter is the one which are undetected or not recorded by police or
any of the authority.
It is believed that the crime statistics which are recorded by crime survey and police must
be independent and robust so that the true insight of the crimes is taken. There must be quality of
the data recorded so that the people ad especially, the government can get understanding of every
aspect of crime in order to enact such laws or policies which are beneficial for the curbing the
number of offences in the England (Blagg, and Anthony, 2019).
The crime survey for the England and Wales is very essential to the government as it
helps in taking the true insight and understanding of the crime level. It helps in identifying as to
which crimes are left unreported. The crime surveys include both reported and reported crimes
