Implications Of Social Media Use_1

TITLE OF PAPER IN CAPS 2
Introduction
The study is about the literature review on the topic, 'Implications of social media
use.' In recent times, the usage of social media is massively connected to ordinary people's
personal life. There are some absolute terms that concern social media use. There are
contradictory studies on the function played by social networking in the promotion of the
social connectedness that suggest that young adults may have beneficial and detrimental
psychological effects. Furthermore, there is another element of belongingness. Social
networking networks, such as Instagram, encourage users to send requests that will connect
and interact with others if they want to virtually establish their social connections. Besides,
the results indicate that contact is necessary to create a feeling of belonging rather than easy
usage. Another distinguishing word for social networking usage is SNS or the Social
Networking service; it is an electronic method for forming connections with individual users
that share a relationship, history, or a real friendship with someone (Gil de Zúñiga et al.,
2017).
On the other hand, another defining aspect that provides more of a negative context is
self-esteem, higher rates of fear, isolation, jealousy, narcissism, dissatisfaction and
deteriorating social skills have been correlated with the social network. The study mainly
considers the positive negative effects of using social media. Furthermore, the study provides
examples of previously proven positive or negative theories.
Positive Aspect of Social Media Use
Although some parents think nothing good can come from social media, there is some
amount of positive aspects of social media usage. The primary positive theory is Fullwood's
study, and the paper aims to investigate the consequences correlated with the context of
psychological wellbeing that is generated into users through the use of the app on mobile. It
is believed that the usage of mobile has adverse implications for prosperity, but previous

studies has traditionally not qualitatively investigated the perceptions of mobile users. This
observational study reveals the findings of 3 focus groups of 18 mobile users, 14 women and
4 men engaging in an open-ended exploration of the attitudes and perceptions of the usage
and ownership of a mobile (Fullwood & Attrill-Smith, 2018). The research indicates that the
consumers of smartphones are more than addicted to using their computers for specific tasks.
Furthermore, an accurate perception of individual consumers with their smartphones has been
provided in this analysis study. The second theory betraying the positive aspect of media use
is Gonzalez's study; it deals with the Facebook-led dimension of self-esteem (Sobaih et al.,
2017). The research indicates that 63 respondents. Sixteen of whom were males and 47
females, conducted a survey on the differential appearance of participants on their specific
self-esteem profiles under varying circumstances and randomly remitted participants to one
of the three classes and three minutes later requested to complete an auto-esteem
questionnaire. This study too shows some positive aspects of the use of social media on the
individuals.
The results of the research suggest that 'Google' affects self-esteem through its appearance at
web media. Over everything, Facebook's contribution to self-esteem demonstrates the users'
psychological advantages. The third defining theory of social media use is the Valkenburg
study. The research centered on the consequences of the self-esteem and wellbeing of
teenagers from friends' media networks. The effect of mental wellbeing is viewed as
detrimental by the usage of networking sites in adolescents. All of these studies involve
individuals of young age. They can be students or teenagers, but they are always males and
females, whose average age lies within 30. Positive effects have been studied through all the
mentioned theories here.
Furthermore, the theories are studying the effects of social media on mental health and
wellbeing of the test subjects (Vannucci et al., 2017). Any content may be beneficial, and
