INTRODUCTION
Tourism industry play vital role in growth and development of business. This industry is
changing drastically from time to time. Also it has been able to benefits other firm too. This report
is basically based upon coastal tourism destination, Broad stairs situated in UK. While tourists
enjoy this place and can do many activities such as Viking bay, joss bay and many more outdoor
activities. Also, this town is considered to be best place to live with peace and safe environment.
This report includes benefits of tourism strategic plan, importance of collaborative planning in
tourism, tourism strategy, implementation of vision & objectives and benefits of strategy to
residents & visitors socially as well as economically. Moreover challenges faced by Broad stairs in
tourism is also has been discussed with formulating effective measures. To develop tourism
industry, a plan is required and which has been elaborated in the present report.

A. Explain the benefits of producing tourism strategic plan for coastal area & discuss with examples
of destination that has benefited from it
Strategic plan is important in developing strategies as well as tactics for business. Without
implementing strategic plan, it is not possible for firm to survive in market in appropriate manner.
There are many benefits of strategic plan for coastal area which has been discussed below-
Economic benefit-
Developing tourism strategy and plan assists both business as well as government to grow
at rapid level. So, by producing tourism strategic plan it helps government in generating revenue as
direct & indirect contribution. It contributes to government as direct way by including income tax,
eco-charge on tourist, tourism business etc. As indirect benefits comprises of employment in coastal
communities. It has been also stated that most jobs and employment rely on hotels, restaurants,
agencies etc (Soulard, 2018).
Foreign exchange income
Another benefit is that coastal areas are able to acquire foreign exchange earnings via
coastal tourism. This is because import as well as export of products & goods around the region
which also enhances in generating income in host country. Further, with help of plan more new

campaigns and other needed facilities to assist coastal area. Also, to enhance and improve tourism
sector government has signed an agreement which is open skies agreement between Israel EU
regions. This assists both countries and direct flights have been started from both the side. This
results in increase of tourists as well as visit in coastal destinations. This is all done by
implementing effective strategic plan for tourism industry (Garcia, 2018).
After a brief analysis of above matter, it is stated that producing strategic plan for tourism
provide beneficial to coastal area and industry at broader scale. It is responsibility of government to
give leverage to such destination that give contribution and help in growth as well as overall

Broad stairs is beautiful town located in east Kent coast of UK. It is 80 miles away from
east of London and which has transportation facility connected to that area and makes it easy for
people and tourist to visit the place conveniently. This place is full of entertainment with ample
number of amenities such as ice cream parlours, chic shops, cottages etc. It is the attractive
destination because of it is an attraction point for sightseers, beautiful nightlife with seaside etc.
Mission- Main mission of tourism destination is to promote host country, attract tourist at
wider scale to stable the economy of government. A mission is statement which depicts what
currently one is doing (Mwesigwa, 2017).
Vision- To develop tourism industry in UK by considering innovative ideas, values and
ethics. A vision depicts the goal what one want to achieve in future.
Objective- Main objective of this destination is to build fair & developed economy for
future growth of town (Petrova, 2016).
In this coastal town, many places are there are many places which is great destination for
tourists as well as residents of town such as bistros, art galleries, amusement arcades, bars etc. Also,
tourist has the chance to enjoy Broad stairs gala, festivals etc. during the Easter. Other than this, to
access to the town government has also introduced high speed rail link so that people going for
vacations can easily move from Europe to London.
Mission, vision and objective play vital role because they clear individual goals what one
has to achieve at within a specified period of time. So, Broad stairs have clear thoughts regarding all

development of town as well. Another issues is that residents people go for abroad for vacation

advertising, etc. Thus which indicates that it is not possible for town to achieve sustainability as
well as competitive advantage. Also, beach water pollution is affected health of people because of
carelessness of people. Measures which are used to solve this problem are not effective one. Also,
due to rise in competition high street shops in town are unable town cope with them such as online
food delivery, social advertising etc. Leaving of residents to other destination also deep impact on
access of population from other countries.
Opportunity- Broad stairs has opportunity of partnership and merger alliance of
government with travel agencies to promote tourism sector at larger level. Further, implementation
of marketing strategy such promotion and advertising via hotels, FMCG sector etc. can attract more
tourist in easier way. Another one is that improvement and enhancement of amenities such as scuba
diving, fishing etc. are also able to attract vendors to destination and supply resources with
affordable rate (Ullah, 2018).
After a brief analysis of above matter, it is stated that mission and vision are important for
business so that decisions are made accordingly. Also, without them planning process cannot be
implemented in proper manner. So, to achieve positive result it is necessary to consider these
elements properly. Further, opportunities and issues are to be maintained as well managed
appropriately. This helps destination to make changes & take effective measures in proper manner.
Proper plaaning and correct measures are to be used while going for mission as well as vision so

D. Explain how vision & objectives could be implemented and identify key stakeholders in change
of delivering those objectives
The identified vision & objectives are important to achieve so that destination is able to
develop in appropriate manner. Such as objective is to developed fair economy for growth by
providing more amenities as well as services to tourists at affordable rates. Further, vision is to
develop tourism industry in UK by giving special privileges to guest in host country. So, the these
two will be achieved by following ways which are mentioned below-
The destinations and tourism communities can accomplish them by collaborating or say
merging up with multinational organisation which will help in developing activities,
services, amenities etc. Thus, such firm need to be merged who have detailed knowledge of

Another way of implementing vision and objective is that they can have do promotion as
well as advertising at broader rate of scale to promote amenities such as bars, cafes, malls,
street shops etc. Such measures assist in accomplishing the described elements.
To develop tourism industry, government of UK has to re-design the buildings and
monuments of town as well as present characters walls around the town ton attract more
visitors. This is crucial step because new environment will be created over the locality &

team believe that improving of amenities around localities will create a new environment and
encourage people fir living in the town with positive energy. These residents get the opportunity of
exploring new things and the well best in that the get challenge to serve the tourist as also a good
chance to serve their country pride which is also beneficial key point for the residents as tourist
came to the country they got an opportunity of employment and a source to earn money also some
foreign currency it is also beneficial for the residents as they got to know more about different
cultures and the residents can also help the tourist to know more about their own culture. In many
countries the main source of income of residents is tourism. Thus, making new changes and
introducing new facilities increases morale of locals (Scheidt, 2019).
Benefits of visitors socially- As the visitors visit to different countries it has many benefits
in the eye of visitors one of the major part of benefit the visitors are earn from society or from the
residents because the major interaction of the visitors are from the local people or it can also said
that first way of contact of the visitors are the resident of the country. They provide them good
knowledge about their culture, heritage, local language, food and beverages. These things might
prove very beneficial to the visitors by which the get the information about the different places.
These can also provide benefits in the term of completing the goal of the visitor to visiting other
