Technology has made its impact in almost all the industry. Tourism industry is also highly
affected by the use of technology. The attraction companies are using it for enhancing the

effectiveness of their operations such as decision making, marketing, using the products by
customers. Most of the attraction companies are using advanced ICT technologies for
enhancing the quality of their operations. Since the customer satisfaction in the attraction
companies depends on the way in which experience they have had in the market.
Technologies such as Virtual Reality are very effective in improving the experience of the
consumers (Kidd, 2011). VR is an interactive computer-generated experience happening in a
stimulated environment. Today’s customer demands for interactive, immersive, experimental,
customizable experience and they must focus on product differentiation so as to increase the
competition. VR is most appropriate technology in this regards as it helps companies in
providing real experience of the attraction. A virtual world is created around them which
enhance their experience to hear and see things. This report proposes a technology strategy
plan that will help the Museum of Anthropology to improve the effectiveness of the
organisation.
Role of technology in attraction industry
Technology is widely utilised in the attraction industry and plays a very major role in its
success. This is illustrated from following points:
Modern technology can be applied for enhancing the efficiency of operations management,
administration, records management, inventory management and info management within the
Organisations like Museum of Anthropology. This ensures that resources of the firms are
properly utilised and there can be long term utilisation of resources (Pohawpatchoko,
Colwell, Powell & Lassos, 2017).
Advanced technologies such as mobile application and internet facilities are helping
customers to purchase tickets online as the people these days do not want to stand in queue to
purchase tickets. Since people plans for their visit few days earlier only hence they want to
purchase tickets instantly. Since mobile technologies have reached to every hand hence they
can easily do online purchase (Han, Jung & Gibson, 2013). This also gives the idea to the
companies that how many visitors are going to come and on the basis of this they can plan
their operations. This will helps in increasing customer’s experience.
