INTRODUCTION
Resort management is a part of hospitality and lodging industry and involves various
facilities which are offered by hotels and resorts, such facilities involves: hotel management,
service management, facilities planning, recreation administration, marketing and many others
(Alananzeh and et.al, 2018). There are different types of resort, some of the types of resorts are
ski, spa, beach and golf resort. Queens Hotel is established in Eastbourne, England and is a
seaside resort and hotels. The hotel is focusing on offering exceptional functional facilities
through which they can meet the demand of their customers. This report aims to define the types
of resorts, challenges faced by such resorts and formation of strategies which will help in
resolving such issues. The report will define sale objectives, strategies, target market, business
plan and corporate social responsibility of organisation.
TASK 1
P1 Determine types of resorts, features and potential issues and challenges of managing them
Ski resort- Ski resort are resorts which are developed for skiing. The characteristics and
facilities which are provided by ski resorts are self-catering, catered chalet packages, provision
of wet rooms, provision of ski equipment and maintenance, ski patrol and avalanche control,
snowmaking, grooming and terrain park operations. The issues and challenges which has been
faced by ski resort are maintenance, construction and qLift operations.
Spa resort- The facilities which are provided in a spa resort are thermal and minerals spa
that can make tourist relax by giving them relaxing experience in their resort. The facilities like
treatments are also offered to tourist while they visit a spa resort (Alvarez-Sousa, 2018). Some of
the issues and challenges which has been faced by spa resort are health and safety of treatments
ad control of substances hazardous to health and many others.
Beach resort- The beach resort are resorts at the beach side which are inclusive and
themed resorts. There are various activities which can be performed at a beach side resort which
are performed by following many health and safety guidelines and procedures. The challenges
which has been faced by beach side resort are related to sustainable development in relation to
coastal environment.
