INTRODUCTION
Resort management is the vital part of hospitality industry which includes administration of
hospitality, management of it, facilities planning, leisure studies and many others. It is basically a
plan which involves preparing the individual for planning, managing and the market
comprehensive facilities of vacations and related product and service. It is analysed that one of
most seen for aspect of resort is that traveller is freed from their day-to-day errands that are taken
care of by facility’s staff (WALKER, 2015). At a resort, there are ample number of activities
presented that includes massages, live entertainment, cosmetic treatments and so on. The report
of resort management is prepared for exploring about the world of resorts and learn about
variants of resorts which exist across the world and emphasis towards certain management issues
which are relevant to manage resorts.
For understanding about managing resorts, selected company is Cleopatra Luxury Resort
which is situated in the city of Egypt. Over the years, the resort has expanded in various fields
including manufacturing to agriculture, mega malls, real estate to hospitality industry (Cleopatra
Luxury Resort, 2021).
The report highlights about distinct features related to common resorts along with
potential issues faced in managing them. It also evaluates various types of resorts and packages
available for customers. An analysis about consumer needs and desires about particular location
is made so to create a resort package as per needs is made in the report. At last, it covers
application of guiding principles to attain sustainable tourism for the resort.

Exploration of distinct kinds of resorts with key features as well as potential issues and
challenges to manage them
Some of different categories of resorts with unique features that are part of Cleopatra
Luxury Resort are explored below:
Ski resorts: A resort type which is developed for the purpose of snowboarding, skiing
together with other winter sports is defined as ski resort. These have marked paths particularly
for skiing that are known as trails, pistes and runs. Its one of characteristic include offering great
skiing on uncrowded slopes and spectacular panoramic views that comprises of highest
mountains, etc. another characteristic of ski resort is providing provision of wet rooms, provision

of ski equipment and maintenance along with management of walkways(Nawrocki and Cha,
2019). The resort has established relationships with various Ski and Snowboard Schools so to
train its manpower to provide adequate experiences to customers.
Facilities: It offer activities such as sledding, snowmobiling. dog sledding, outdoor or indoor
swimming, ice skating, hot tubbing and many others. It also offer services such as game rooms,
local form of entertainment like cinema, clubs. Cabarets and theatres.

Spa resorts: A kind of resort that which invigorates baths or therapeutic services including
saunas, manicures, massages and baths (Shinta, 2019). It retreats mind along with body through
common spa facilities so to empower, build strength on mental and physical capacity together
with raising confidence.. Within this resort type, the resort provides customer services that are
personal guidance through tea services, spa commodities as well as cosmetics.
Facilities: It offers many facilities or activities such as scalp massage, body scrub, aromatherapy
relaxation, facial steaming, hair removal, nail treatment, nail art and many others. It also has
facilities like fitness, sauna, steam, swimming pool health related educational classes and many
others.

Beach resorts:A beach resort serves aspects related to accreditation that are based on
satisfaction of particular need that is holiday at beach. It is a full-service holiday lodging element
with access to private beach. In other words, it is all inclusive, themed along with mixed usage of
resort. At Cleopatra Luxury Resort, beach resort is characterised as a place or location wherein
vacationers enjoy beach along with beach activities. Key activities like swimming, jet ski, wake
boarding, scuba diving, banana boat and other games are part of beach resorts. Popular activities
that are performed within beach resort are windsurfing, snorkelling, speedboat rides and so on.
Facilities: It offers activities or services such as water sports. Parasailing, underwater diving,
swim with the sharks and many others (Iannarelli and et. al., 2020),

Potential issues and challenges to manage varied resorts
There are certain issues and challenges which professionals of Cleopatra Luxury Resort
faces while managing varied resorts. Some are described below:

Ski resort: One of challenge that is faced by these resorts is to manage global warming that
causes extreme weather conditions that cause snow storms resulting to restricting customers to
enjoy activities and reduces snowfall due to which potential of business is hampered. It indicates
that the future climate warming would cause the loss of skiable areas, the shortening
of skiing seasons, sharp drop of ski visitors in many low altitudes along with low latitude ski
resorts. Another challenge is on the environment as when ski resort is established on mountains it
leads in cutting down the trees in order to make ways for skiers. So lack of tree affect the
environment as well as animal who lives there.
Beach resort: in context to beach resort, global warming is a challenge as it warms the
planet that expand seawater, melting of ice sheets and flooding beaches. during peak season,
global warming impacts negatively on these resorts such as Cleopatra Luxury Resort as it
reduces potential of entity and causes destruction of corral that affects attraction spots at certain
destination. Another challenge is lack of cleanliness in the beach resort as people avail services
while also makes the beach dirty which may affect the environment as well as health of people
(Kalair and et. al., 2020).
Spa resort: Challenge that spa resort faces in managing spa resort is intense competition
from other business resorts addition to seasonality on demand. Moreover, customer trends to
travel spa resort are changing that creates huge complexity for implementing strategies to
manage the resort type.
Discussion of differences within operational requirements of specialist areas along with potential
issues to manage different specialist areas of varied resorts
Within a resort, operations are smoothly carried out with right people in right department
having right resources (Forcina, Guerrini and Barbanera,2019). Within specialist area of resorts,
there are certain operational requirements by managers to offer full services and amenities to
customers. However, in the areas, certain number of potential issues exists that restricts them to
manage areas effectively. The discussion of differences among operational requirement and
potential issues to manage special areas of resorts is underneath:

Operational requirement of specialist area- One such operational requirement in Ski resort is
specialized and skilled staff and to ensure their speciality and skills, regular training must be
