Executive summary
The purpose of the research paper is to critically assess the lessons which have been influencing
the Japanese auto maker companies and car manufacturers to gain a competitive advantage over
the UK and EU automotive manufacturers. It will investigate the factors which has helped them
developing the marketing plans in gaining a competitive advantage over the largest car
manufacturers of the world. The first part of the research paper will be describing the factors
which include the lean thinking, use of the best supply chain management and coupled with a
quality leadership practice in the organization.
It the later part of the research paper it will critically investigate the challenges which are faced
by the companies and how they deal them and meet the organizational objectives of the
companies. In the last part of the paper it will further make proper recommendations on the
performance objectives which should be adopted by them in maintaining the competition among
other companies.

Introduction
The aim of the research paper is to analyze the performance of the UK car maker Aston
Martin in a global business environment and assess how they have adopted the approaches in
order to improve and sustain their business excellence.
It will highlight the company’s lean thinking processes, best supply chain management
and quality based leadership techniques. The paper will be able to critically investigate the
challenges which the company faces in the recent years and how supply chain management
vulnerability has resulted in global sourcing of its products.
In the next part of the report it will be recommending on the performance objectives that
should be operated by the company which will ensure the company’s competitive advantage over
the other manufacturing companies in the face of competition in the present era.

The British automobile industry is mainly led by the famous automakers of the world
which are Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar and Lotus is known to achieve the world’s highest level
of manufacturing from the year 1971. A very high productivity is given by the UK car
manufacturers that have depended on the performance, innovation technology and employments
