The success of any organization depends upon the workforce of the organization. The work
force of an organization determines the productivity level of the organization. A skilful work
strain will enhance the performance of the organization as a whole and the poor work force
can impact negatively upon the productivity of the organization. Therefore the knowledge
and ability of the employees and the service quality of the same determine the productivity of
the organization as a whole.
In the following essay the workforce of the company Walmart has been evaluated. Walmart
is the largest retail chain, globally, however, it is observed that in certain areas or in certain
wings, the employees of the organization perform poorly, which has gravely impacted upon
the output of the organization as a whole. Although, researches have upheld that the
productivity of the employees of Walmart is one of the sole reason that have enabled the
organization to flourish. Therefore, in the following report, the training management of the
organization, shall be evaluated and the areas where, the organization can evolve or rather
should be evolved will be identified, and further the needs for the organization to undergo a
training management plan will be assessed, based on which, a detailed training management
plan will be forwarded. The report will further assess the various training programs that can
be included by the organization. Further, the ways this training plan can impact upon the
organization will also be assessed.

Walmart is an American multination al retain chain, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The company was founded in 1962, and over the years it has become the giant retail body,
across the globe. Today the company is present in more than 27 countries and has around

1200 stores across the world. It has expanded over bot, first world and third world countries,
and has around 55 different names under which, the company is conducting business. The
founder of the company is Sam Walton. He started the business by offering a lower price to
the consumers, that marked the entry of the organization into the business, gradually, a good
communication system, a tailored price structure and an effective workforce had gradually
improved the position of the business into the market. Gradually Walmart had changed the
face of retail organization in the country, taking into all the smaller organizations. The
success of the company mainly depends upon the workforce of the same, however, recently,
the company has observed to be facing certain issues with the employee management and is
seen to have faced with challenging situations regarding the same, for which the researchers
are of the opinion that the company must undergo a training management process within the
system.
Importance for Training in Walmart:
As observed and analysed by the researchers, it is found that the employees of the company
have issues with providing quality services, and also dealing with their customers. Therefore,
as recognised by the researchers, followings are the essential areas which have heightened the
need for training management within the organization.
Failing to recognise the needs of the customers:
Walmart was essentially known for its tailor made, customised products to appeal the
customers, however, recently, it is found that the customers are not getting the proof=ducts
that they wanted, rather they are provided with a replacement of the same.
Language Barrier:
Walmart is doing business all over the world, thereby, they are to hire employees from all
across the world which has increased the rate of diversity within the organization. Further, the

employees are communicate with customers coming from all the nook and corner of the
world. This has posed the employees of the organization in front of language barriers. The
diversified work force involves diversified languages which pose great problems to the
employees.
Poor Interpersonal Relations:
A good relation among the employees is a crucial point for a motivated and productive
workforce. The language barrier presented among the workforce creates situations of
conflicts within the organization. Further, the language barrier also hinders the employees
from having a good communication process within the organization, all these factors
contribute to a poor communication process within the system.
Poor communication system with the Customers:
Since the concept of online market policies, Walmart has registered itself in the online
market, which has heightened the poor customer relation. The customers need continuous
support by the organization. They may need information regarding a particular product, or
they may also be in need of help while ordering a particular product. However, it is observed
that the online chat process of the organization is are often ineffective and unresponsive and
not helpful. All these have contributed to a poor customer relationship for the organization
that has impacted upon the sales and productivity of the organization as a whole.
Need Assessment Process:
As claimed and shown by the researchers, the organization, Walmart, is in need of training
assessment, which will help the organization to understand the areas where they should be
focusing on in order to identify the problem areas and further taken proper steps to mitigate
the needs. In order to that, the company can involve the GAP analysis process.
