INTRODUCTION
Transformational leadership is the leadership style at which leader tends to work with other team
members such that they are able to fulfil organizational requirements. Sainsbury is chosen for the
analysis in this report it is a supermarket chain in UK. Analysis on leadership and management
challenges is done in this report.

Leadership Challenges
Transformational leadership is a leader’s perspective for a leader in which it tend to work with
organizational teams for identifying the requirements of change. Then by providing those a
vision leader’s influence committed members to implement organizational changes at Sainsbury
such that they are able to improve the probabilities of goal achievement. In transformational
leadership leaders influence and motivate other employees to improve their working, so they can
surpass current challenges and achieve a better future (Boamah and et.al, 2018). Transformations
leadership faces several challenges with organization, which are as following.
Unable to follow the vision provided by leadership, transformational leadership influence
and motivate others to improve their working capabilities by providing a better future vision
which is not often followed by others due to which it is not effective as other leadership styles.
This happens because leadership fails to showcase a better vision for the future due to which
only a few limited and committed employees follow them. However if this leadership is
implemented on the higher level of organization then even though limited employees are
following the vision but still they are able to improve organizational strategies as per
requirements.
Followers can set their personal objectives, in this leadership style no fixed path is provided
by the organizational leaders and only the final goals are showcased. Due to which employees
can set their personal objectives and paths for achieving that target, which may be different that
organizational working and will lead to instabilities. But if a proper guidance is provided then
this instabilities can be removed thus resulting in improved working condition of Sainsbury
(Sahu, Pathardikar and Kumar, 2018).
Unidirectional influence is also an important factor which could lead to affecting
organizational performance in a negative way. In other words the vision provided by leaders is

organizational working can be improved. For enhancing organizational working management has
to implement strategies such that Sainsbury’s working can be improves and for achieving this
management develops organizational strategies and implement organizational structure. Through
these activities management develops a roles wise structure and appoint roles as per employees
specialities and also develop organizational departments which simplifies working procedures of
organization (Buil, Martínez and Matute, 2019). Since management is responsible for developing
organizational structure and implementing organizational strategies for increasing the
probabilities of goal achievement. Therefore it is also responsible for solving organizational
challenges which will affect the goals achieving capabilities of Sainsbury. Following are the
challenges which management faces in diverse nature of Sainsbury.
Improvising organizational structure, management of organization is responsible for
understanding the current market trend and company’s requirement for achieving that target.
Through this evaluation management of Sainsbury will be able to develop a organizational such
that high output gains can be achieved at minimum expenditures. It is important for management
to develop a efficient organizational such that they are to improvise inter departmental
communication. Inter departmental communications is the communication system developed
within organization for effectively synchronizing departmental activities. This inter departmental
synchronization is important because through this each department within organization will be
able to discuss the issues and requirements.
Staffing and providing training to employees, management is also responsible to staffing
organization as per requirements. Through this staffing management is able to improve the
working capabilities of organization such that they are able to achieve required criteria for
tackling market competition. With that management is also responsible for providing efficient
training to employees so their goals achieving capabilities can be improved resulting
the organizational activities of Sainsbury because it is working on improving its performance on

management and leadership are responsible for efficiently managing organizational employees
such that Sainsbury is able to achieve its organizational goals. Therefore efficient
communication between management and leadership is important such that they can synchronize
their performance for achieving organizational goals of Sainsbury. For that a organization must
have a clear objective such that organizational strategies can made as per the requirements it is
important because one cannot plan a journey without having a final destination (Fischer, 2016).
Therefore having a clear organizational will provide guidance for evaluating performance with
the required criteria and through proper monitoring its activities. This will also provide
Sainsbury an ability to check the effectiveness of its developed strategy, for achieving this
company has to organizational department has to check the integration of current organizational
