Transformational leadership style would be the best form of the leadership style that is
mainly helpful in situations where change in the organizational culture is required. Leaders
follow the leadership style who wants to transform their working procedures in ways by which
the organizational goals are met (1). This leadership style is mainly inspirational in nature and
the leaders who follow this style have the capability to inspire their subordinates in ways by
which they can work beyond their potential and develop enthusiasm to meet the goals first. The
assignment would be mainly based on the development of strategies that the leaders will use in
order to handle the present situation and thereby help the organization to achieve its goals.
One of the most important strategies that this leadership style utilizes is called the
inspirational motivation. Transformational leaders have a clear vision that they utilize in
articulating the followers. Such leaders also take the initiative for helping the followers to
experience the same passion as well as motivation to fulfill the goals. In this scenario, it is seen
that the nurses who were of the childbearing age were not motivated to work beyond their
potential and reach new heights in their career (2). They were only satisfied with the lowest
income and fixed shifts and did not want to work extra or learn new areas of practice and serve
in the different departments of the healthcare organization. They lacked the passion to develop
skills that would enable them to progress in their career and achieve new heights. Therefore, the
leaders needs to encourage and motivate the nurses who are of the child bearing age and needed
to make them understand that they need to broaden their aspirations and develop objectives and
aims in lives so that they can get better scopes and promotions in the healthcare (3). Such
inspiration will help them to develop aspirations by which they can serve patients in a better
way, be more dedicating to the organization, help the organization in the crisis period and
thereby participate in decision making sessions with the healthcare professionals. Since, they are

happy and satisfied with low income and want to spend the least time for the shift hours. Such
motivation would them to develop new set of goals regarding their career and would enable them
to earn much higher when they would achieve greater height and this would help them for better
bearing of the children in their lives. In such a scenario, the transformational leadership style also
enables the leaders to take up the aspect of idealized influence (4). The transformational
leadership style is mainly helps the leaders to serve as role models for followers. The followers
are seen to trust and respect the leaders and therefore they are also seen to emulate the
individuals as well as internalize the ideals of the leaders. The leaders should herself show how
she can perfectly balance work and life and at the same time try to thrive for a better future. she
needs to set examples by which the people of the childbearing age can prioritise their
professionals and personal attributes and can thereby set proper examples to how to reach zenith
of success by balancing work and life.
Another important aspect of transformational leadership is called the intellectual
stimulation. Here the leaders are mainly seen to not only challenge the status quo and also helps
in encouraging creativity among the subordinates. The leader is mainly seen to encourage the
subordinates by exploring the new procedures of doing things and learning new opportunities for
learning. It is seen that the new nurses were found to be incompetent and therefore, it is one of
the responsibility of the leaders to prepare the nurse on ways by which they can face any
challenges that arise in front of them (5). The leader should first realize the domains where the
nurse are facing incompetence and accordingly develop strategies, practical sessions and training
sessions by eminent nurse trainers to help the achieve the skill. The system that is present in the
organization that states nurses to participate in two different service programs within one year
should be discussed upon as they are creating excessive pressure on the professionals and

therefore there are increased burnouts. Therefore, the leader needs to challenge the
organizational custom that had continued for many years and had to represent to the higher
authorities about the issues faced by the nurses (6). Therefore, besides, challenging the status quo
the leader should also introduce innovative as well as new ways by which the subordinates can
complete the work and learn innovative ways of completing their objectives.
Another important arena that needs to be taken care of is the individualized consideration.
This type of leadership style is also seen to offer support as well as encouragement for the
individual followers. The leaders need to foster supportive relationship and therefore they tend to
keep lines of communication open. These make the followers feel free on sharing their ideas
making them feel happier and included in the organization. The leaders are also seen to offer
direct recognition of the different types of unique contributions of each of the subordinates. In
the case scenario, it was seen that there was a high turnover rate and therefore it was important
for the leader to understand what was the main reason that was leading to increased turnover (7).
To handle this situation successfully, it was important for the leader to arrange for meetings and
engage in effective feedback exchange with the members so that she can understand every of the
complaints, suggestions and different issues of the professionals. This would help in exchange of
ideas that would help the professionals to overcome their issues and barriers that they are facing
and would also help the leaders to help them to overcome stress for which they are leaving their
jobs. Their suggestion would be taken in consideration and accordingly feedback would be given
so that they feel that their suggestions and complaints are also given important (8).
From the above discussion, it is seen that transformational leadership would be the
correct leadership style that needs to be adopted. Four important aspects need to be taken
incorporated. This includes inspirational motivation, idealized influence, individualized

consideration as well as intellectual stimulation. These would help in overcoming the barriers of
the situation and would help the nurses to work in ways by which they can reach the zenith of
success.
