INTRODUCTION The London Ambulance service is an NHS trust liable for conducting ambulances and answering and reacting to urgent and emergency medical situations within the London, region of England. Question 1 Identify and analyse strategic issues In present time health care sector increase in broad manner due to occur major accidents and disease. In this sector hospitals and trust are facing some strategical issues underneath: ï‚·Increase medical cost for owner: As per the affordable care act, there is about 40% tax obligatory on staff members who provides excess advantages to their employees.When hospital recruit any staff member so paid highly salary because of respond to this new tax by necessitate for staff members to pay more for their insurance. The government set some taxes and provision on medical services that paid by the employer so for this company paid high cost to become leader in health care sector(Craig, 2018). ï‚·Health care regulatory challenge: It is main issue that create problem for overall sector in political arena. When government apply any changes in health care sector so it is directly impact on the strategy that prepare by every health organisations. Political regulations changes based on the government and take consideration into staff how handle the changes effectively. Regulatory challenges drive up with the cost of offering different services and care. ï‚·Technological advancement issues: In present time technology increase day by day in every sector that influence on the strategies that adopt by the organisations. In the context ofhealthcaresectortechnologyadvancementintroducebyleadinghospitality organisation. To become modern every organisation try to adopt modern technology but small organisation can not afford this. It become problem for them because according to that they are applying changes in their strategies that set by them to operate different regulatoryactivities.Thetechnologyadvancementisprovidingopportunityand challenges to company. 1
Thereare defineddifferenttypesof strategicissuesthatbecomeproblemfor an organisation. According to these problems organisations can change their policies in appropriate manner. Question 2 Identify and analyse Challenges Volume of demand: It is a key challenge that face by the London ambulance services. As per the research past 5 years demand for Ambulance for critically ill of injured patients has enhanced at average year on year rate about 6%. This trend is awaited to ongoing. LAS long term estimation advise that when no action is taken to arrange demand then the increase serious patient list that reach about 14000 calls a week that arise 30% as compare of 2016 – 17(Halonen and Dunn, 2018). Wide urban environment: It is new challenge that rising as the ambulance services select to the demands of offering responsive, high quality services to a growing and changing population. There are wider complexness in the urban environment like quickly new progression and competition for road space and the cost of living is costly that impact on the man power of LASThe LAS work impact on the broader physical city atmosphere in which it operates. LAS staff are paid as per the salary bands, it means the LAS has little flexibility in regard of work as well as changing terms and conditions that provide by employer. Due to increasing cost of living people wants good salary that enough for family so employee turn over face by the organisation in broad manner. They are facing financial challenge of communicating long distances to work, often at unsocial hours where transport options can be limited(Pollard, 2019). Question 3 Identify and analyse solutions There are identifying different types of problems that require to sort out by the LAS in broad manner: Solution 1 To meet with current and future demand require to improve experience of patient. The LAS is looking different new ways in order to deliver care and reducing the number of individual who take treatment from the hospital. The trust must assure about the public fully understands that apply changes as per the service requirement. If it is continue the distributed public trust it presently enjoys. Solution 2 The mayor is presently work on the plan that will be modified as per the new recruitment strategy. The spatial development strategy has been set in particular structure in order to planning and improvement across the capital. The main plan of London should more explicitly identify the requirement of the LAS due to apply new improvements. For wider environment LAS acts as barometer for remove wider stress over the system. To reducing difficulties open new department of GP and mental health with winter pressure facing A&E divisions. Solution 3 Boosting the work force: The Mayor can support the LAS to develop a sustainable, spirited and different manpower. They are applying new strategy for recruitment that based on the sets an ambitious goal for increasing unpaid and aims to hire 1% of the London population to 3
save life of people on time. They are getting about 100,000 new volunteers who are working as social contribution with health equalities strategies. As a result LAS become independent easily provide their services any where without any problem. The London ambulance services is highest service assets which is trained for different situation but the LAS continue gain experience in regard of recruiting and retaining employees long time in business. Question 4 Implement one of solutions LAS is providing emergency medical services to people which is a part of the national health service. These services are providing by the chief executive Garrett Emmerson. There are recruiting about 5300 staff members. The NHS trust face different types of challenges that sort through various methodology. The trust does not pay sufficient amount to staff members and in London cost of living has increased extent. As a result employee turn over increase in trust that impact on the medical services so company take action and contact with GLA group in order to set effective working relationship(Sternquist, Huddleston and Fairhurst, 2018). It is inviting different peoples who wants to provide services in medical line as a volunteer. The LAS trust provide training those people who are providing social services at free of cost. For these actions LAS take about 1 month to provide training volunteers and more people engage with the trust effectively. In order to provide solution on based on work force that apply new technology in which not required more staff members. In present time artificial intelligence work much better of human that take less time and no financial problem face by trust. The volunteers are engaging to provide social services and work in free of cost as a result trust do not face labour turn over and easily manage all the work activities. Recommendation As per the different problems it is recommended that to sort out different types of challenges motivate to staff members in regard of work and ready of any changes that apply by the business entity. LAS provide emergency medical services to people for this require different volunteer so encourage people for this and ready for the social activities. 4
