Introduction
Organisational change is defines as the process of modifying organisational process or
strategies due to change in the dynamic environment, it is the process of continuous growth and
change within the business. In order to meet with growing competition in the market and gain
competitive advantage the change has become the essential factor for each organisation. Change
can be of any form, it can be to change organisational strategy in order to meet market and
customers demand or can be change in the organisational process to enhance their productivity
and profitability. For this report Tesco is taken as the base company. Tesco is one the top
international retail company, it is top ninth largest retail company globally. It was founded in
1919 by Jack Cohen serving world widely with over more than 3300 retail stores. This report
covers detailed description of drivers and impacts of changes and affecting organisational
strategy also internal and external drivers of changes. In addition to this the impact of change and
how it affects the organisational strategy and operations with impact of changes on leadership,
individuals and team behaviour is also highlighted in this report. Furthermore the applications of
suitable models to process change efficiently are also explained such as the lewin’s change
management model and the force field analysis to determine the driving and resisting force as
well as the Kotter’s eight step change model is also highlighted in this report.

Discuss various organisational examples indicating the impact of change on their strategies and
operations.
As per the view point of the Tim Stobierski, (2021) Change is the modification or alteration in
the process or strategies which are essential for the continuous growth and development in the
ever changing environment, change has become the essential part for any organisation to meet
the changing requirement of the market and customers, it helps in enhancing the performance
and profitability of the organisation, it also helps in gaining competitive advantage in the market
(Amado and Ambrose, 2018). The organisational change can be change in the process, strategies,
culture, technologies in order to enhance their performance and achieve targeted goals and
objectives (ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT: WHAT IT IS & WHY IT’S
IMPORTANT, 2021) In case of Tesco and Aldi has also undergone many changes, the impact of
changes on their strategies and operations is discussed below:

has to strictly follow the

and operations of the
organisation.
Technology With increasing use of
technology, the company
has adopted this change for
betterment, they have their
own websites in order to
attract their customers, this
change has allowed
company to enhance their
customers base and increase
their productivity and
profitability also with
increasing demand,
company is providing online
services to their customers.
In Case of Aldi, in order to
adapt with the changes
company has started using
various social media
platforms in order to interact
with their customers, this
change has enhanced their
productivity and also
directly influenced their
strategies and operations
effectively (DePoy and
Gitlin, 2019).
In context to Tesco, the major changes that any retail industry has gone through is the
introduction of the online shopping. Tesco has shifted towards this new change which has

significantly changed the way they function and operate effectively. Company has introduced a
click and collect service online in order to meet and adjust to this new changes. This change has
impact on the strategy and operations of the company which is discussed below:

From the above it is analysed that the increasing use of technology and advancement in the
technology lead Tesco to implement the online shopping as the change which helped company in
the long term and enhancing their profitability and operations became easier. Whereas in case of
Sainsbury the major reason for the change was to enhance the satisfaction level of the customers
and provide quality services to them, and to meet this requirement company introduced the click
and services option, each individual will get quality services effectively. This helped in
enhancing long term strategy and smooth flow of operation in the organisation.

The various drivers of changes which can directly affect the strategies and operations of the
organisations, changes like technological change in context of chosen organisations has directly
affected the transformational change of the organisation, for example the various drivers of
changes like technological changes or economical changes has forced company transform their
technology and make advance changes in their technology, also there are number of internal
drivers of changes like strength, weakness, opportunities and threat which has effected the
organisational structure and strategies of the organisation. In context to the Tesco company has
modified their organisational structure and there was changes in the technology also (Compton
and Banks, 2018).

Change is an state of continuous modification, accepting change is not an easy process for
any organisation and specially for its employees, changes in the strategies and operations can
directly impact the working of the employees or team leaders. Any kind of change in the
organisation effects the behaviour of an individual as it is directly linked with an individual
emotional state. There are number of internal and external drivers of changes available in the
