MAIN BODY
The main concept explored in this assessment is the Emotional intelligence which plays a
major role in the individual’s personal and professional life. According to Peter Salovey and
John Mayer, Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognise, manage and make use of one’s
emotions in positive ways in order to relieve the stress, communicate efficiently, coordinate with
others and therefore overcome the challenges and resolve the conflicts (Mayer, Caruso and
Salovey, 2016). It affects individual’s physical health, mental health, performance at the
workplace, relationships and even the way in which the person behaves socially (Ghandeharioun
and et.al., 2019).
I have tested my emotional intelligence through a test introduced by Global Leadership
Foundation which helped me in knowing myself and the way I use my emotions in my personal
and professional life. The test consisted of 40 questions which I answered. The scores were
calculated out of 10 for each of the quadrant in which the results were assessed i.e., Self-
awareness, Self-management, Social-awareness and Relationship management. The scores of the
test are displayed in the screenshot attached below:

I realized after giving the test that I am aware of my emotions (Self-awareness) and its impact
and also able to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses along with much confidence in myself.
