INTRODUCTION
There are the different set of skills which are required to work within an organisation or in
personal life. These are helpful to make sure that the work or the job which is provided is done
effectively (Sammut, Daanen and Moghaddam, 2013). To perform any set of rules, it requires
attributes that enable to support the firm and important for the growth as an individual. With this
respect, it includes skills like communication, decision making, leadership, problem-solving,
listening, presentation, etc. All these skills contribute effectively towards the growth and
personal development and to support the firm in achieving their goals and objectives.
Different skills or attributes that is identified as part of module
As per the finding, it is being identified that there are four main skills which I possess. With this
respect, from the module I got to identify, there are certain skills which I possess, and these skills
are highly beneficial for my personal development. In this context, I identified that I possess
problem solving, decision making, time management and presentation skills.
Definition and describing core skills
Problem-solving skills: In personal life and professional life, there are a different set of
issues or problem that are faced. To overcome those, it is important to have problem-solving
skills. In this context, it requires skills which enable to identify the main cause of any issues and
to list out a different alternative way that will be helpful to come over to the problem (Baron-
Cohen, Lombardo and Tager-Flusberg, 2013). To overcome any problem, it is essential that one
has the convincing and logical thinking which help to make others understand and make them
trust that the solution will help to solve the issue. Within the organization, problems arise when
there are differences in opinion. This raise conflict situation and to resolve it, it requires one to
possess problem-solving skills so that he/she will be able to make all the parties understand and
they can solve the conflict.
Decision-making skills: There are cases in which one gets confused to select the most
suitable option which will enable them to provide a suggestion or to guide others or for any other
aspect. As per this skill, it aims at analysing the situation over decision needs to be made. At all
the aspect of life, it is important that decision is taken. At growing stage, one takes help from
their parents than friends, guardian, etc. (Munevar, Cole and Haacke, 2014). However, there are

cases in which one has to make decision own their own. To make a decision, it is important that
one has proper information and knowledge so that decision can be taken.
Time management: This can be determined as one of the effective skills that enables to
manage all the work effectively. Most of the employees leave the organisation due to ineffective
time management. Due to pressure and overload of work, employees fail to complete the work
on time. However, to manage the time it is important for one to know prioritisation, delegations
and strategies that are helpful to manage time. Managing time provides the opportunity to spend
time for other things which includes personal life as well. There are conditions in which people
do not find time after their work, but when there is proper time management, it enables to
provide proper time.
Presentation skills: It is a type of skill in which one will convey others over a topic. This
is done to make others understand. To make a presentation, one of the most important things
which required is effective communication (Kang, Gray and Dovidio, 2015). It enables the
opportunity to make others understand about the topic. In addition to this, it includes eye contact,
body language, etc. which enables to make a presentation.
Why I might have these skills
I possess these skills because of the module, and the seminar sessions that was conducted helped
me to identify the areas in which I am good at. The module enables me to develop personal
development plan. In which all the areas that in lack were identified and then I get to make the
evaluation, and I got to know that I poses these four skills. There were the different set of
situations given in which was able to identify that I possess decision-making problem-solving
skills. Further, to make others understand, it is important to have proper interaction or
communication skills, and this helped me to know that I have the effective, convincing power
that influence others to listen, understand and make a decision accordingly.
Importance of these skills
All the skills that have been identified are highly important as these are helpful as an individual
to make sure that all the operations and tasks are provided to them are done effectively. Below
given are the importance of all skills:
Presentation skills: These skills are important to make others understand the topic for
which firm want others to understand. Within the organization, there are presentations taken in
which all the employees are involved (Rochat, 2014). However, issues arise when the present do

not have the skills and the topic which needed to be delivered is not conveyed. However, to
make a proper presentation, it is important that one have proper communication skills, body
language, facial expression, etc. All these are important to take up the presentation.
Decision-making skills: There are a different set of conditions that are faced in personal
and professional life. In which situation, it is important to have decision-making skills that will
be helpful to make a proper evaluation and select the best option that will help to overcome to
the problem. As per the module that was conducted helped in understanding the skills I possess.
With this respect, peers were also helpful in identifying the skills.
Problem-solving: There are many conditions in which employees face in the organisation
due to which misunderstanding or conflicts arise. The skills I possess is helpful understand the
situation and to make the proper evaluation that enables to solve the problem. When conflicts are
solved, then it becomes easy for the workers to focus on the goals and objectives of the firm.
Time management skills: To undertake any tasks or activity, it requires proper time, and
there are conditions in which many tasks are given at the same time (Brownell, Nichols and
Svetlova, 2013). Then it becomes difficult to complete all the given work within speculated time.
Time management enables to complete the work without getting affected with the quality.
Contradictions or allowable weaknesses about skills
Within the skills I possess, there are certain areas in which I have to make improvement so that
the skills can be made more effective. In this context, below given are the allowable weaknesses
about skills:
Presentation skills: To make a proper presentation, it is important for one to have
communication, facial expression, body language, etc. Among all these, I need to improve on
body language and facial expression. Only with communication skills, it is difficult for one to
make others engaged with the topic. In this context, both these areas need to be improved so that
the presentation skills can be enhanced.
Time Management: To manage time, it requires prioritisation, delegation, making notes,
staying healthy, etc. Among all these, there are cases in which I fall sick and this increases the
work. In another part, I can manage work that is given to me but due to getting sickness the work
over me increases. Delegation and prioritisation are highly helpful, but due to health issues, it
affects this skill (Steinbeis, 2016).

Decision making: For making a decision, it is important to list out the options that can be
implemented to select the most appropriate one. However, I fail to list out many opinions. This is
due to lack of understanding of the issues and. It is important that I develop my knowledge with
the help of internet.
Relevance for the future
To perform any roles, it is important to have these skills. It enables to perform the task that is
provided. Decisions and problems are something which has to be taken and make at every point
of time (Frye and Moore, 2014). In this context, for the future, these skills will be helpful so as to
handle any issues or problems. All the skills that a person poses are important are every point of
time and no one say when it will be implemented.
Evidence of wide reading and familiarity with theoretical concept
There is a different type of theories that can be implemented to develop their skills and
knowledge. It is important that one identifies the areas in which improvement is required. This is
only possible for some of the people if they observe and identify the areas in which improvement
is required. This will help them to develop strategies or list out ways that can help them in
enhancing the performance level. Different people have diverse ways through which they get to
develop and enhance their skills. With this respect, below given are information about Honey
and Mumford. This is a type of learning style that enables to develop skills and learning. There
are about four distinct learning styles which are as follows:
Activist: These are the type of people who develop their understanding from a different
type of situation they face. They have an open mind and make sure that all the thinks which they
have knowledge are implemented. These people generally learn from problem solving,
brainstorming, group discussion, etc.
Theorist: They aim to understand the main reason for any type of issue. They apply,
models, theories and facts to evaluate the situation. They love to learn new things. These people
learn from stories, statistics, models, etc.
Pragmatist: People under this learning make use of practical information in the real
world. They try to find out the way by applying their presence of mind. They learn from case
studies, problem-solving, discussion, etc.

Reflector: People develop their learning by thinking and observing. They do not make
use of their own knowledge and depend upon other suggestions. They learn from personality
questionnaires, self- analysis, etc.
Demonstrating ability to reflect on practice
Within the organisation and personal life, skills like communication, presentation, time
management, problem solving, decision making, etc. are helpful so that the roles that have to be
performed can be conducted effectively and efficiently. The ultimate aim of the nay organisation
is to gain maximum profit. This is only possible when management will be able to satisfy their
customers. In this context, when one has communication skills, it helps to develop coordination
and the performance level. The communication skill that I possess will enable to identify the
issues or problems that are faced by other workers. Accordingly, steps can be taken with the help
of which healthy environment can be developed. Further, there are situations in which decisions
need to be taken in cases of any type of conflicts. To overcome the situation, it is important to
listen to all the opinions or issue that each of the parties faces. Then listening to all the parties an
appropriate solution needs to be taken and this is possible with the help of problem-solving
skills. There are cases in which presentations are taken within the organisation so that changes or
issues can be conveyed to workers. The presentation skills will help me to make others
understand the issues or the chance that management is willing to implement within the
company. Moreover, all the doubts that workers have in relation to the changes or issuers can be
clarified effectively and efficiently.
2. Summary and action plan
As per the reflective analysis, it has been identified that there are many areas in which
improvement is required, and there are certain areas in which I am good at. With this respect,
below given are the areas in which my strength lies:
Time management skills: My time management skills are high effective. I can make the
work that is given to make, and quality do not get affected. This was possible as I possess
delegation and prioritisation which help me to divide the work as per their importance and am
able to identify people who will be helpful to support me in completing the work on time.

Communication skills: It is a type of skills which helps me to have proper interaction and
to develop the strong relationship with others. It has helped me to develop my presentation skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills: There issues and problems that are faced in
personal and personal line but with the help of these skills, it has helped to over come to the
issue.
Below given are the weaknesses that have been identified:
Listening skills: From the evaluation, it has been identified that I lack listening skills
which is important in order to come up with an appropriate solution to any type of problem. This
skill is also important to have proper communication with other.
Leadership skills: This is one of the essential skills that one should have. It enables to
lead and guide other and to make them motivated so that they will work with their full efficiency.
There are cases in which worker felt disappointed and demotivated (Brownell, Nichols and
Svetlova, 2013). In such situation, skills of leaders are helpful to change the situation and to
make them boosted up for the work.
Body contact: To make other understand the seriousness of the topic, it is important that
one has proper body language. This is a part that I lack, and this affects negatively to the
communication that I have with others, and it also affects presentation.
As per the current set of skills that I possess, it can be stated that I have to improve many areas
like listening, body language, leadership, etc. These are important areas in which I have to work
on. However, with the help of proper evaluation and self-assessment, I will be able to enhance
skills. Moreover, I will also take help from by seniors who have proper knowledge over it. By
following these set of strategies, I will be able to develop my understanding and enhance my
skills, and this will enable perform my roles and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
CONCLUSION
From this report, it can be articulated that to perform any role it is important to have a certain set
of skills so that they one will be able to perform the set of tasks effectively and efficiently.
Different people possess diverse of skills and it important that one get to understand them and
make proper evaluation so that the areas in which one lack can be identified. People learn
through a number of ways among which internet can be determined as one of the important
sources that helps in developing understanding and in enhancing skills.
