Introduction Work has been a common part of human life from the beginning of the civilization. Working provides an individual to be independent, to develop new skill, for growth and mainly to find a meaning of life(Bove, 2019). It is necessary for human survival and social growth in order to define the characteristics of an individual. Working also provides control over the life. This report will explain why work is important for the people by understanding the workplace value. It will also explain that how to motivate people at the workplace and the impact of work on employees. Main Body Understanding value of workplace Workplace values are principles related to the career growth and place of work. It basically definestheclaritythathowemployees withintheorganisationneeds to behave. The values at workplace are generally guiding principles that are required to be understandforidentifyingwhatworktodoatworkplace(Chan,BenYedderand Vipulakom, 2019). It helps an individual to analyse that the work they are involved in is right or wrong. This identification is used for decision making process. The work place values in the organisation are responsible to motivate people so that they can adopt the culture of the organisation. There are various examples to better understand the work place values as mentioned below: Being honest towards the objectives of the organisation To be responsible and accountable Delivering quality work before deadline To have positive attitude To have helping nature To be detail oriented person Motivating employees to work It is essential to understand what makes people to work before understanding the concept of why people work. It is identified motivating the employees is key factor to
make company successful. It is because those employees are responsible to drive commitment and energy at the workplace every day(Esteve and Schuster, 2019). To better the behaviour and attitude of the employees in order to analyse their personality and nature, most of the leaders in the organisation uses various assessment methods such as Myers Briggs and DISC. There are many organisations uses motivation books and magazines to enhance the performance of the employees. This way of motivation helps the organisation to accessing the short and long run of performance by analysing the factors that helps to increase the motivational level of the workforce. Hence, it is essential for leaders to build accountable and strong relationship with the workforce in the company in order to maximise the output from them. There are various ways to motivate the employees at work place in which some of them are mentioned below: Careergrowth:Itisoneofbesteffectivewayofmotivatingemployees. Employees are motivated when they about their progress or career growth within the organisation. As a leader, it is the foremost responsibility to define the career advancement pattern in order to motivate the employees towards the objectives of the company. According to given scenario of John, it is crucial to define career opportunities to motivate employees within the organisation. Recognising the work:According to a survey conducted which tells nearly 80% of employees gets motivated when senior members or managers recognise their work. It is due to the fact employees put a lot of efforts to complete the assigned project. It can be carried by rewarding the employees for their great work towards the organisation. Developingtrustworthyrelations:Itisnecessarytodeveloptrustworthy relationship between employees and employers in order to win the trust of employees. Hence, employees become more interested and motivated towards the work. Effectiveworkenvironment:Itisveryimportanttoprovidehealthywork environment in order to enhance the motivational level of the employees. In this the impact of positive factors on peoples is discussed. There are various factors which are responsible for positive impact of work in which some of them are mentioned below: One of the important impacts of work on people is the leadership style. Due to working in various organisation it develops a leadership approach among the people. The managers within the organisation uses transformational leadership style that defines the common vision for future growth. It creates a positive impact on the working capability of employees.

There are also personal resources like self respect and self confidence correlates positively in with health and wellbeing as well. According to a study it is observed that high level of confidence like over confidence is harmful for employees. Hence, having a self confidence leads to the person who can achieve difficult task easily. These are some factors discussed which are responsible to create positive impact of work on the working capability of employees. These factors are basically used at the work place and helps to enhance work efficiency and to develop good communication skill at the work place. It also provides various benefits to the workforce as to achieve the objectives and creates positive impact of work on the behaviour of the employees. Negative impact Therearesomefactorswhichcreatesnegativeimpactontheperformanceand productivity of the employees as well. Some of them are mentioned below: Lack of engagement of employees within the organisation can impact on the performanceoftheemployees.Thus,theorganisationrequirestodevelop employee’s engagement towards the objectives of the company(Gothi, 2021). There are many organisations that does not provide the appropriate training and professionaldevelopmentprogram.Therefore,itisnegativelyaffectingthe working efficiency of the employees.
Poorcommunicationamongtheemployeesandleaderstendstoless accountabilityandlowproductivitywithintheorganisation.Itisoneofthe important factors which can negatively impact of work over the performance of the workforce. As per the study, it is seen that stress and anxiety at the workplace negatively impact on employee. It occurs due to basically increased work load, job security and unsatisfied job roles. Hence, it increases the stress level which negatively impact on productivity of employees. Theworkingenvironmentisalsoresponsibleforemployee’sperformance. Unfavourable working environment such as no incentives, less encouragement, lowsalaryandnoscopeofcareergrowtharenegativelyimpactoverthe performance of the workforce. Unprofessional culture at work place and less effective organisation structure can negatively impact on the performance of the employees. Hence, these are major which can create negative impact on the working capability and productivity of the employees. Conclusion From the above mentioned analysis, it is concluded that how work is important for people. It explains the work place values which helps an individual to analyse that the work they are involved in is right or wrong. It also explains that how to motivate people towards the work. Furthermore, it describes the positive and negative impact of work such as leadership style, organisation culture, work environment etc. on the productivity and performance of the employees at the work place.
