TASK 1
1 Importance of gathering requirements in project management
Gathering requirement for project is very vital as it helps for defining project scope
during scope management. There is presence of set of tools and technique for gathering project
requirements as seems very practical for collecting each requirement to imply application of
gathering tool. In the similar aspect, it ensures project deliverable as project stakeholders alter on
frequent basis (Nonino and et.al., 2018). At the end, Project manager is highly liable for success
of project. It saves project manager and team through listening and understanding business of
stakeholder along with problems they are required to solve. It helps in elaborating process of
requirement and tracking its originator and tied to performance commitments
1.2 People involved or affected through project activities
a. Project mangers
b. Project stakeholders
c. project steering committee
d. organisational employees
1.3 Who could be project sponsor?
a. a company financially supporting then project
b. a group of company stakeholders
c. a key stakeholder who is responsible for reporting on the outcomes of the project
d. a key stakeholder who has developed the idea for the project and is responsible
to make funds available for the project
1.4 Benefits of Quality Assurance over Quality control?
Quality assurance monitors operations of production and helps for improving process of
manufacturing and prevents defects in finished product. In this aspect, quality assurance
checklists and audits are implemented, issues related to production is spotted and solved on
frequent basis which had resulted in efficient and seamless process of manufacturing along with
fewer defects in finished product (Quality Assurance vs. Quality Control, 2019). On the contrary,

quality control ensures product to accomplish standards of company and government prior to
entering the market.
5. Describing techniques could be applied to compress project schedule along with effect on
project cost/time/quality
There are two methods for compressing project schedule which are crashing and fast-
tracking. The detailed description is stated below:
Crashing engages inclusion of resources for specific project activity which could be done
so that project could be completed quickly and seamless but this method tends to be highly
expensive (Sandhu, Al Ameri and Wikström, 2019).
Fast-tracking: It engages alteration in string of activities so some could be performed on
simultaneous basis whereas risk engaged as it avoids discretionary dependencies along with
performance of additional activities as it does not raise project's cost.
6. Project control change process is in need of two approval points
Change control is very important part of process of project management as it is almost
certain that projects would face demand for alteration during their life. This alteration might help
to ensure about alignment of project with needs of business as it is significant for considering
and approving change carefully (Stettina and et.al., 2018). This process will ensure every change
proposed during project which is adequately reviewed, approved and defined prior to
implementation. In addition to this, it helps to avoid unnecessary alteration that may disrupt
services and ensure efficient application of services.
7. Difference between risk contingency and residual risk
Residual risk remains after carrying out response of risk which is accepted with absence
of other risk response
Risk contingency is used for managing both secondary or primary risk (Schipper and
Silvius, 2018).
Secondary risk arises as direct outcome to implement risk responses whereas residual
risks are expected for remaining after planned response of risk undertaken.
8. Calculating project's actual cost after 7 months
Actual cost: 270000
