INTRODUCTION
Operation and project management is way individual manages & organize resources that
are essential to complete the work, it includes getting out of business resources. It focuses on
effectively managing procedures to distribute and produce products or services.
The current report is based on Sainsbury's company, operating their business across UK
with experienced applicants. It explains the process of execution of operations management
principles within company and continuous betterment plan base don review of operations
management principles in context of business. It justified implementation of OM in relation to
lean principles and six sigma methodology. This study explain the effectiveness of continuous
development plan and appropriate theories to justify strategies of CIP for achieving improved
efficiency.
Furthermore, it reports clarified each stage of PLC to provide task, producing essential
supporting documentation for complemental work. It also defines effectiveness of PLC in
application to select project and rationales for project methodologies, leadership and tools within
PLC.

Sainsbury is second biggest chain of supermarkets in UK, they provide online shopping
facility to its consumers, people are able to purchase everything from clothing and groceries to
electronics & home wares. With skilled workers, firm is effectively managed their operations in
retail sector and satisfy needs of consumers at global level. Organization team is accountable for
sourcing new sites for people to be located in, offering consumers with convenient shopping
locations. Firm cater range of well popular goods and own the most famous brands on
competitive prices to deliver quality of products or services.
Operation vs operation management-
Operations is practice of managing and handling inner workings of business so it runs
and operate as efficiently as possible. Whether company make products, sell and provide
services or goods, company has to oversee design and administration of being practices.
Operations management is considered with organizing, planning and supervising in
context of manufacturing, production and provision of products or services (Heizer, 2016). It is

known as business function accountable for managing the overall procedures of producing of
products, include coordinating, managing and controlling all essential resources required to
manufacture firm's goods.
Implementation of operations management principles within Sainsbury's-
Operation management is one of the most essential department of company which plays
vital role in manufacturing products or services for consumers. It includes all essential activities
and make important changes for higher productivity and profitability. Principles of operation
management implemented within company in order to improve their performance and enhance
productivity rather than before (Slack and Brandon-Jones, 2018).
Reality-
According to this principle, operations management and its team member focus on
specific issues instead of approaches, because no technique in itself will present word wide
solution. Without focusing on problems' operation manager is unable to solve it in effective
manner it is reality that is not changed by anyone.
Organization-
Within organization manufacturing procedure are interrelated with every function of
business, all components consistent together in order to achieve common goals of Sainsbury's
and similar results in profits.
Fundamentals-
According to this principle, success of business comes from strict adherence to exactly
maintaining position and disciples within marketplace. Operation manager of Sainsbury's follow
principles of operations management, that help to analyse competitors and supports to take
decision for applying new techniques better than rivals.
Accountability-
It is one of the most essential principle of operation management follow by manager of
operations department. They are responsible to set rules and appropriate metrics in order to gain
competitive benefits. Operations manager is responsible to continuously check that their goals
are meet with expectation of company.
Variance-
To manage each operation and function effectively, manager will divide process that
encourage people for doing their job in effective manner and managed each and everything well.
