1
Research questions
What are the potential talent management strategies within hospitality industry.
What is the influence of talent management strategies on working performance of staff in
Holiday Inn ?
What are the problems faced by Holiday Inn while implementation of talent management
strategies?
P2 Formulate a project management plan which include time, cost, scope, communication,
quality, risk and other aspects
Project management plan is a document that will cover all the important information
about a project at a single place. By this, managing all the work will be easier for manager in an
organisation.
Time: Company needs a time of 3 months to work on this project. Researcher requires 4
weeks to accomplish this research.
Cost: Manager in Holiday Inn has decided to complete this project under 10,000 pounds.
Researcher requires 200 pounds to finish the research.
Scope: In case of Holiday Inn's project, scope is very high as talent management will
help the company in retaining their workforce for maximum time. From researcher's
perspective, scope is wide as researcher will learn new concepts and knowledge (Bruni,
Cassia and Magno, 2017).
Communication: Project manager can communicate with project members and
stakeholders the help of tools like web conferencing, voice call, e-mail, video call etc.
Researcher can communicate via internet, mobile, face to face, SMS etc.
Risk: For project, main risks are associated with lack of technology, capital and shortage
of time. Researcher can face issues related to money, time mismanagement, lack of
internet etc. These risks can reduce the overall effectiveness of research and project in
considerable manner.
Quality: To maintain quality of project, skilled employees will be selected as project
manager. In case of research, quality will be managed with the help of qualitative and
quantitative research approaches (Elbaz and Haddoud, 2017).

TASK 2
P4 Perform a small scale research by using quantitative and qualitative research technique to
achieve aims and objectives of project
Research methodology is a tactics to process, analyse, identify, select and evaluate
information of a specific topic in detailed manner. In a research, methodology section benefits
the researcher in reading and evaluating overall reliability of the research (Sirkova, Taha and
Ferencova, 2016). This has two approaches which are stated below:
Qualitative research: This approach of research do not include any calculations,
numbers or mathematical formulae. This research is based in words and textual
information (Hua, 2016). This kind of research helps in getting in-depth information
about a topic. Sources associated with this research approach are focus groups,
interviews, post cards etc.
Quantitative research: In this approach of research, data which is created or gathered is
always numerical. To analyse collected data, statistical and mathematical methods are
used. This approach is not suitable to gain in-depth information about a topic. Sources of
this approach are secondary data, observation and survey.
Primary research: Main purpose behind this research is to answer questions and collect
information which is not gathered by any researcher before. This research is time
consuming and cost consuming. Main sources to collect primary data is through
questionnaire, surveys, observations etc.
Secondary research: Major purpose of conducting this research is to collect those
information which is already gathered and used for some activity. This research is not
time consuming. Data in this research can be concluded with the help of Internet, books,
magazines, Journals (Ladkin and Kichuk, 2017).
