INTRODUCTION
The health and social care sector with in process of providing world-class services to its
clientele have to encounter several behavioural posses by them . To deal with such challenges
efficiently an executive must be proficient with tactics such as communication and interpersonal
skills This assignment takes into consideration the legislations formed by the government in
interest of health and safety practices in the institution. The tools of interventions are discussed
upon and best practices along with response to challenging behaviour will be identified and
applied onto clientèle (Aknin, Dunn and Norton, 2012).
TASK1
P1 Identification of legislation related to restrictive intervention
Restrictive interventions are referred to as involvement of service provider in the life of
an user. Various concerning laws which are relevant to the restrictive interventions are as
follows:
Health and safety at work 1974: This is one of the most critical legislation formed which
compel the employer to ensure as far as it is practically possible that health ,safety and welfare
of customers are maintained. Employees are to be provided with healthy & risk free working
environment so at to carry out their tasks & duties. They need to be well acquainted with
information, training and instruction while dealing with service users for ethical intervention
process.
Mental capacity act 2005: This legislation have been formed to protect the interest of
people with medical illness who lack capability to make decisions for themselves & are
dependable on service provider to carry out their basic functions (Beavers, Iwata and Lerman,
2013). The treatment offered should be weighted to be least restrictive encouraging their
freedom .
Common law: This law compels the service provider to ensure duty of care offered to
client by prioritizing safe & healthy working environment for them . The service provider is
obliged to justify any involvement in lives of client & to maintain trust and confidence of its
clients.
