INTRODUCTION
Human resource management provides out the method in which the employs are being
hired, recruited in order to make the profit and to achieve the goals that are being raised by the
company. It helps out to promote the welfare and the production with enhance productivity. It
provides the method in which workforce is being recruited in order to implement the working
right areas and the accomplishments for the company (El-Dirani, and et. al.,2019). HR helps out
to promote the higher and recruit facilities of the employees and also provide the rewards,
motivation, training development to all their workforce. As for the employees there has been
made certain legislations which helps out to manage their workforce and areas of working.
Through which all the employees are being protected and were promoted to enhance the
efficiency. For all the companies it is important that human resource department should maintain
a proper managing of the task that are being given to them and with them try to motivate all their
employees. The organisation chosen in this report will be GlaxoSmithKline GSK which is a
Pharmaceutical industry headquartered in UK. In this report there will be two parts that covers
out the functions and the purpose of HRM with the modes of selection and the treatment that are
being used in the HRM practises. The second part will cover out the relations of the employees
with the employment laws in terms.
TASK 1
P1 What are the functions and purpose of HRM explain the effective workforce planning and
resourcing a company.
HRM is method which helps out in providing the functions and the recruitment for the
employees in order to give motivation, recruitment, training, compensation to all the employees
who have been working in the company. HR heads out to provide important changes and all the
companies and also to frame the ample of requirements being made in the company
(Connelly,and Torrence, 2018).
Workforce planning refers to a method which helps out to forecast and also to implement the
demands that are being raised by the employees and the supplies relating to the target with the
proper management by the people who are being hired for the company.
Purpose of HRM

It helps out to provide an effective nature through which the organisation can maintain
their workforce in a skilled manner.
HRM provides a method through which recruitment can be analysed and all the
employees can be served to maintain their duties and the relations regarding their jobs.
HRM helps out to motivate the workforce in order to perform their work and also to
accomplish the targets that has been raised by the company.
Functions of HRM
Human resource manager provides out to maintain an attractive workforce which helps
out to provide a potential and qualified working environment with a proper essential
features and functionality in affective manner.
It helps in the future advancement and goals as it turns out to provide all the need that are
being required by the managers to implement their employees to work in a adaptive and
systematic approach.
HR manager helps in improvising the skills and also provide to develop all the basis of
knowledge through which the performance of the biggest job sectors can be implemented
and enhanced.

Recruitment is mainly defined as a method which provides out the identification,
attracting, interviewing and all the short listing process of the candidates and the workforce in
order for a specific job in the company (Halbe, and et. al., 2018). As for the HR manager of GSK
they can adopt various recruitment process in order to approach to the candidates and to get the
potential workforce for their companies it is being mentioned below:
Internal approach: It is mainly all the involvement of the job position in an internal
existing manners of the workforce they are like:
Transfer: It is mainly the method in which the employees are being shifted to another
areas to work with the same salaries, responsibilities and on a specified same prank that
was given to them earlier.
