INTRODUCTION Organizational design refers to the process role creation, structure and process with aim of achieving organizational goal. To form an organizational design, it is important to have the complete and correct information so that structure of association can be in a particular format (Phakathi, 2017). In order to understand the change in the organization, managers must go through with the change in police's and process so that they can easily explain to their subordinates. This report is bases on London Marriott hotel country hall, it is situated in Westminster, London and designed by Ralph Knott in 1909. The hotel currently having 206 bedrooms 12 meeting rooms and a bar. This report will cover the importance of organization theory in context of organizational structure that fulfilling the strategy in a specific organization and also analyze the different techniques and approaches used for attracting maintaining and developing the human resource to create a skilled and dedicated workforce in the organisation. Furthermore, it also analyzes the contemporary knowledge to support the evidence of emerging human resource development and it explains how organizational design helps to respond and adapt to change management and the relationship between these two situations. TASK 1 P1. Importance of organisational design theory in context of organisational structure and assist in fulfilling organisational strategy. organizational design plays an important role in any business as it gives the direction to formulate the strategies and policies in the organisation to run the business and effective manner and generate high revenue. in the design of the organisation is changing, there is a need of change in the complete structure of the organization(Pertiwi, Llewellyn and Villeneuve, 2019). London Marriott hotel country hall they are using the divisional organizational structure because it includes several divisions such as sales marketing or logistics and human resource that help the organisation to complete their task in a approached manner and initiate the organisation to run their business in a better way. There are various type of theories that is explained below: Classical theory- it is the traditional theory which emphasizes on organisation instead of their employees. According to this theory the organisation is considered as the machine and the human beings are the different part of that machine(Nitzsche, Wirtz and Göttel, 2016).Stories based on the consideration that employees are having physical 1
and economical need. They do not have any interest with the motive of doing social welfare or they are not seeking for job satisfaction. It Focuses on identifying errors and correct them in order to increase the output of the organisation. It will help in increasing activity in various operation that leads to generate higher revenue and on maximum profit on the large scale. Non-classical theory- The theory which focuses on humans or the employees of the particular organisation. The author of this theory believes that if the employees make a good relationship and create a better employee engagement in the workplace, this will lead to increase the productivity and the satisfaction of the employees and this will lead to generate higher sale and profitability in the business(Moldovan-Borsos and Matei, 2016). Efficiencyof the employees can be improved by providing lower working hours, improvementofsocialrelationsofworkersandrewardthemfortheirbetter performance. The main components of non-classical theories is social system and human factor is the important factor in the social system that can contribute in increasing the productivity of a particular organisation. Contingency theory- this is the theory which suggest that organisation used most appropriate their leadership style in context of particular situation and that style will help in figuring out all the situations. Manager is concerned with the both situation and their leadership style and give their best to co-ordinate with both in effective manner. This theory will help the organisation to learn from the various situation that influence their future management for a particular operation or task(Maassen, Nerland and Yates, 2018).It also produces all-rounder leader that can deal with all types of situation and solve them in an appropriate manner that will be beneficial for the organisation in achieving their business goal. The above discussion has given a brief importance of different theories that helps the manager of London Marriott hotel country hall to formulate their strategies and policies in a structure manner that will help to run their business and generate higher revenue. This hotel will use the contingency theory so that they can produce all-round the leader that can handle all the situation and leads to manage the operation in an effective manner. This theory will help in understanding the various changes in the organisation that can leads to evaluate the change properly in the organisation. 2

Now a day’s employees are having their personal aim and objectives in there working career and if these objectives are not meeting the employee satisfaction this will leads to decrease in the productivity of the employee and the sale of the business itself, so it is very important to meet the satisfaction of the workforce). (Larrondo and et. al.,2016). Thereare various changes in the external environment like different preferences of customer, technological changes, expansion of business etc. Changes are affecting the evaluation of the different strategies within the organisation and London Marriott hotel country or needs to perform their business activities in a dynamic manner so that they can work in the changing environment and these changes will not affect the operations of the business. It is important for the country hall to maintain a good relationship with the employees so that they can work with their full potential in order to achieve the business goal and create a good brand image in the market. will hell the motivation and effective working of the workforce in their job role. the manager of the hotel is using Maslow's need hierarchy theory that will help in identifying the different needs of the individual that include basic need, safety and security need, love and belongingness need, self-esteem need and self-actualization need that needs to be satisfy order to retain the employees for a longer period of time in that particular organisation. Various techniques for maintaining long term relationship and motivating the employees are explained as follows: Employee engagement- it is the process of involving the employee in the major business activity to enhance their motivation that will leads to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the workforce in their specific job role(Koch, 2018).Manager shot give the power of decision making and initiating the employee to create something new in their own risk this will introduce the creativity of the individual and their innovative capabilities. When the employee I have the leverage of taking decisions and work according to their choice then they will work more effectively and give their best in achieving business goal. the worker is involved in the decision making then they can understand their importance in the organisation and analyze the various business strategy and the external market in a better way and adopt the changes properly. Fair policies-it is necessary e for any business to make the fair policies with the consideration of their employees and the organisation. Government of UK has also implemented some policy that is associated with the employee and their benefit that must be followed by every organisation to create a good brand image in the market). (Fonseca and et. al., 2017).It also helps in the motivation of the employee and they can work more effectively to achieve the business goal.It Includes fair remuneration to each employee on the basis of their performance and good working environment with proper safety measures that will help in increasing the productivity of the employees. It also concerned with the correct working hours and proper leaves policy in the organisation for the betterment of the employee performance. Mutual contracts-It is the understanding between the manager and the employee regarding their job policies and responsibilities. Making mutual contact, it is important for the manager to understand the personal goal and objective of the individual and then hire a person for a particular job this will helpin proper utilization of the individual in the specific job role and also leads to increase the profitability of the organisation. the 4
company is clear the goals and objectives of the individual this will help in long-term retention of the employee within the organisation and this will increase the effectiveness of the business by having potential employees. Authority and accountability-This is the power and reliability given to an employee within the organisation that will help in motivating the employee and they analyse their importance in their job(Foliaki and et. al., 2017).Employee must be given some authorities related to their job role so that they can work freely and initiate their ideas into actions that will help in creativity and innovation in the operation. this can be done by having proper communication with the manager and employee in their department. from above discuss strategies it is analyzed that the manager of London Marriott hotel country hall will take the right decision and having proper communication in the department that will help in easy adaptability of change in their business activities and this will lead to increase the sale and profitability of the business. when the organisation understand the personal goals and objective of the employee this will help in long-term retention of the workforce within the organisation and these employees will give their best in achieving the business goal in a better way. TASK 3 P3. Research and use contemporary knowledge to support evidence for emerging developments. There are various changes which have taken place in the external environment and and the particular business have to deal with that in an appropriate manner. HR policies are the important factor that regulate the whole organisation and conduct each operation in an approached manner. various factor which are having a high demand in the hospitality sector such as competitive environment and meeting the customize demand of the customer due to which company have to communicate in a proper manner to their potential employees so that they can perform well and satisfy the need of the customer(Đurkin and Perić, 2017).As analyses emerging trends in the society and evaluate the changes in the preferences and taste of the customer so that it can easily fulfilled by the organisation. There are various designs and structure which is made by the organisation in order to analyze the external environment and having a good command on target market. All the structures and designs are made on the basis of goals and objectives of a particular business so that they can be easily accomplished in an approached manner(Berten and Leisering, 2017). organisation should follow the centralized structure in their business in order to make an easy accountability of the employee to their manager and easy accessibility of each component of the business. The organisation plan must be correctly communicated to their subordinate so that employee I will easily understand their duties and working methods with the consideration of achieving goal of the organisation. London Marriott hotel country hall has executed the business plan and structure and introduce the various change in their business operation that are explained below: Organizational Wide change- the changes which impact the business on a large scale or changes the structure of the whole company. It includes adding a new policy, introducing new technology in the business or changing the leadership style in the management. Changes on a larger scale must be important for growth of a business to meet the competitive advantage of the market. In order to run their business properly, the firm should offer the product and services according to the trends and preferences of the target customer so that company can generate higher revenue and earn good profit. Personnel Change-this is the change which occur due to the higher growth of the business or the way of taking place in the organisation(Bernat and Karabag, 2019).There 7
will be a significant impact on retention and employee engagement in the organisation and this will decrease the productivity of the employee and form may suffer a huge loss with the loss of their potential employees. layoff of the employee may be occurred due to their poor performance or their relocation. New employee size mean increasing the cost of training and development of the employees that will lead to slow down the operations of the business due to lack of skill and experience workforce. Transformational Change- these are the changes in the organisation when they change their process or workflow their operations. It includes Modes of business or the style of doing business. For example companies which choose online mode or adapting a social media platform to advertise their product it will help in easy reachability to the target customer in a large marketplace. A leader must consider cultural trends and technological change, while transforming the business style. Remedial Change- These are the changes which implement in the business when the manager identifies the need of the change and their business activity due to the poor performance of the company. Remedial changes include the introduction of employee training program for launching a new software for creating up job profile to fix out a specific situation. Should review their strategy that had been formulated long time ago and now they are not profitable any more. A newly appointed CEO who is not performing well and turns to be a poor leader, this will impact whole functionality of the business and leads to slow down the operations. Unplanned Change-Changes which has to be taken to control a specific size situation as they are not predictable so organisation have to manage them in an appropriate manner(Aerts and et. al., 2019).London Marriott hotel is completely shutting down due to the COVID-19 but the company have taken appropriate action and implement a online food delivery so that they can survive in the market. This is the unplanned change which the company has to take in order to to maintain and substance their target customer. From the above discussion, it is analyzed that leader of London Marriott hotel country hall must make the change according to the changing tends and culture of the society. This would help in meeting the competitive advantage in the hospitality industry and business can generate higher revenue and profitability. When the company is facing the need of remedial changes, then hotel should take the corrective actions in order to meet the demand in the market. 8
