INTRODUCTION
Business organisations follow a set of documented or undocumented codes of morals
values and principles which helps the company distinguish between good and bad behaviour.
Business organisations follow ethical guidelines to create a workplace environment which
facilitates and promotes ethical decision making. This builds trust between employees and
management and public and corporation. The term ethics and factors which influence ethics are
defined, importance of business ethics is mentioned with suitable example and British law which
promotes ethical practice in an organisation are provided in newspaper article. The organisation
selected for this article is Facebook. Legal rights in relation to General data protection regulation
are provided in essay along with rules expected from an employee by the public and consumers
of an organisation. Starbucks is the selected organisation for this essay. Significance of
teamwork and collaborative working are provided in the report with Starbucks as the selected
firm.

INTRODUCTION
Business organisations aim to conduct every business operation in an ethical manner in
order to complete their role towards the society. This newspaper article is based on US based
technology corporation which offers social media and advertising platforms to their consumers.
This article discusses the meaning and factors influencing ethics along with advantages of good
workplace ethics in a business organisation with the help of suitable organisation.
Discuss the meaning of ethics and identify various factors influencing ethics.
Ethics refer to a set of moral principles which affect the way of living and decision
making of a person. Ethics helps a person in identifying the difference between good and bad or
right and wrong. Ethics defines the moral philosophy and code of moral practices by a group of
people (Brennan and Magness, 2018). Ethics play an essential role in any organisation as it
define what task are performed by an organisation and in what way that it doesn't influence
society and environment. A organisation ethical performing its operations create a good image of
company in market. In context of Facebook ethical principle defines the difference between right
and wrong. It helps selected firm in making effective decisions for organisation through real and
practical guidelines. Various factors which influence ethics are discuss below:

Personal code of ethics- The personal code of ethics is the most important factor which
influence the behaviour of a person. The code of ethics includes the moral principles
which provide shape to a person behaviour. This is the complex environmental factor
which influence ethics the most.
Government rules and regulations- This is the another important factor which
influence the ethics principles of a person most (Forsha, 2017). In relevance of
Facebook, they follow all rules and regulation related to ethical operating their business.
Such as policies related to product safety, statutory warning which defines company
what activity is right and what is wrong.
Social pressure- In relevance of chosen company, social factors play an essential role in
influencing ethics. If selected organisation perform any unethical task then society will
take strict action towards company which will create a bad image in market. Selected
company ethically operates its business with full of honesty and fairness.

Workplace ethics defines the way that how an employee is behaving inside an
organisation. Workplace ethics is related to the moral code of principles which guide the attitude
and behaviour of a person. The workplace ethics define employees that the operation they
perform is good or bad (Wolfe and et. al., 2021). Ethics in workplace help selected firm in
encouraging a culture of making ethical decisions for organisation. In context of selected firm
various benefits of workplace ethics are discuss below:
Assets protection- In relevance of Facebook, workplace ethics helps organisation in
making ethical decisions in organisation which create strong relation between employees
and management. Chosen company have a work environment which follow strong ethics
principles enhance employee morality and pride and make them to do ethical work which
reduce stealing of equipments or assets of company.
Public image- Facebook ethically operates its business operations and timely fulfil its
corporate social responsibility which create a positive brand image of company is market.
Ethics at workplace helps an organisation in performing ethical work which will enhance
their customers loyalty towards company. A good image in society helps an organisation
in enhancing its level of profitability.
